Impulsive and explosive. Never at peace. The miserable look that hangs over them the majority of the time. I should of known better. My narc ex and I have a son. I was moving, we spent several days packing(him looking like someone died the whole time). When we finished and left, all he did was complain about how it had messed up his work days(. I've never asked him to do anything like this before. I've moved myself and child. In fact he has been extremely self focused and had years to focus on his work without interruption or compromise for us and our needs. I said, let's focus on we have achieved today and not what can't be changed (not to dismiss him but to stay positive)I had also thanked him through the process. He suddenly switches into full anger mode, starts shouting(lasted an hour in the car)..".your so selfish , you have uses me..don't appreciate all the work I've done. Now we have finished, apparently you don't care about the situations I have..now your ok"(not true). My ex knew that the time was needed out of his week to do this and agreed . So my translation is, he has helped ,not really wanting to, probablyan ulterior motive of he thought may benefit him long-term. Then thrown it alk back in my face, in the worst way, twisting things in a manner I'm not motivated by...Just to make me feel as miserable as him. I realised this move was a win for me in his eyes. He couldn't celebrate it. He had to destroy an achievement because in his mind that should be him. He has made some bad financial decisions because he won't listen to anyone. Anyway, it was a stark reminder I must keep a wide birth...I really had nobody else who could of helped at then. However, Pointless asking anything from him for the disruption caused. He will always use it to try and either manipulate or devalue me. They can never just see something through in good will without unnecessary drama and bad feeling.

My ex literally told me that by me asking: "How was your day", that it was too "cliche"! Lol He also did not want to have a set dinner time. In the beginning, he was totally fine with it but after a very short time, it was "too routine" for him. We didn't have any kids together so it was not a big deal but it eventually got to the point where he wouldn't even eat any meals with me. He would cook one of those frozen dinners and take it into the bedroom and eat. I would still prepare these really great meals and just ate them by myself. His loss!

I was in a 7yr relationship with a narcissist who told me I was the narcissist. They love smoke bombs and mind games. I remember the day I packed my suitcase he chased me out of my own apartment screaming at me and my head was just spinning. I didnt even know what a narcissist was. Its been 4 months no contact. Its been hard some days are better. Most days are much better!!. I feel more for my grandchildren because they dont understand. Papa was around for 7 yrs then gone. Doesnt care blocked my kids ran away abandoned his dog and left the place trashed. These people are mentally ill. Its just not normal behavior.

Andrew , The dog scenario literally happened to me. I can home from work (keep in mind this is my home) walked in and there is a full grown 1 1/2 year old female German Shepard. No prior convo but that would take communication and respect. Your right what they want when they want is that matters. No common sense ! The kicker … The dog was left behind which was the best for her since she feared him. She no longer chews her nails to the nub. 😏

She had no other use for the dog , never fed or watered it , never walked it . Never really gave him a thought ever .

This happened to me too. He brought home a lab and few weeks later a Rottweiler. 3 years later he took our Rottweiler to the vet to put him down while I was at work. This is when we’re in the process of our divorce. And when he goes shopping he will buy multiple color shirts, shorts or any other clothing. He would buy multiple tools of the same sets. He’s careless with our children by walking ahead of them without looking back to check on them. Now I finally learned he’s a malignant narcissist.

This seems to make sense, and helps us to understand the impulsivity and their inability to have adult relationships. Wow! This is so true!! He used to do whatever he wanted, all of your examples!! He bought a lot, specially sport clothes and then he returned all of it, it was like a game. He bought a dog and then he didn’t want it and put it to sleep to buy another dog. He said out of the blue: let’s go to New York or to whatever place. At the begging I used to say yes who doesn’t want to travel!! but when I started to have problems with my time schedule and said no, he got mad, very mad, he said I was ungrateful. Other times he got mad just because, he disappeared arguing that I was mean to him and had to go. He took his motorbike and just went off for a couple days in this silent game. He used to change plans. I felt like if I was in a rush all the time. At the end of the relationship he was like in a hurry all the time wanting to go somewhere else, like thinking in what’s next., I just couldn’t keep up, I’m a very calm person, I mean I like going for a walk or riding a bike but not like that!! He wanted to go out to walk for hours!! No breakfast just walking for hours!!!! He just said and said and said: I want I want, I want… god like a kid! He wanted only his way. I never knew what to expect. It was exhausting. thank you for reminding me that. Just remembering it made me anxious!!

Then when he had to have shoulder surgery and couldn't get around or get out he became a monster. He was actually crying poor pitiful, depressed self. His mask was completely off. I really saw the monster for the first time. I left him never went back and then found out two months later in one of his rages that he had been cheating on me for the last year. When he discarded me and left the house to be with his new supply, he told me the living conditions with me were becoming unbearable bc it was so smooth and stable. Huh? Isn’t stability in a household a positive thing? But not for a narcissist. Yes, they need chaos and disruption. My ex narcissist couldn’t enjoy a relaxing evening at home. My x... collectibles and knickknacks. We had shelves and bins of beanie babies,, black cats. , collectible figures, videos and cd s, etc.. he was always spending money on stuff.. flea markets, yard sales, the mall. My mother... soap, shampoo and clothes, magazines.there was no reasoning with her. Her house was like hoarder haven.Tons of the stuff. After my marriage ended, it took awhile to get out of the impulsive, hoarding mentality. Them and their obsession with things and having to have things. Because I had been subjected to the mindset for so long, it kinda rubbed off on me. Now, I focus on just having the basics. My x and I lost every thing in a fire. That s what set me straight. That s when I realized him collecting all that stuff was madness. He was obsessed with his collections. All they did was sit on shelves and collect dust. Having to start over gave me a fresh perspective. I m free, I don t have to live like that anymore and can be myself.

I'm trying to relocate. Its been horrible. Just oppressive. Insomnia and nightmares are chasing me. Sometimes I'm staring into space for hours, ruminating. . These videos help. One thing I pray so hard for is: I will heal and break the cycle, have boundaries, be willing to have self preservation put first. Meanwhile, the world has been crumbling it feels around me. Multiple health scares ( resolving), then 2 deaths. I'm alone , no family in metro Atlanta, just trying to get out! It feels as if My ex-husband narcissist can smell blood in the water too. I am so angry I was so weak to let these people in. I blame myself. They are so incredibly cruel. It is beyond. Your words mean so much. Thanks for all you do. The unfortunate truth is. I surrounded myself with these damaged people due to my complimentary damage..... @@SilverArtemis I was teaching a clinical skills in-service class at work one day when one of my students came up to me (I’d shared that I was going through a divorce) and shared a common situation triad that arises with empaths: Rescue, Nurture, [become a] Victim. OMG this is so true. They keep changing their mind in a way that you are off the rails all the time. It is exhausting!!!!! And they get frustrated when you don’t engage in their changing behaviour. But when you want a change is different. They never engage in your changes and also, if what you want is not anything they want or need, they go and do their thing, not caring if you wanted them to be with you. So weird that you should mention the dog thing. My ex narc brought home a dog while I was in labor with our 4th son. He left me at the hospital to go get dog food. Wow! I worked all week long, He didn't work anywhere, and the only time the narc would go to town was on my payday. The cart would be filled with clothes, movies, etc. that he'd pick up and throw in. When I would say, "Hey I have bills to pay too and I can't aford all this stuff." I would get a melt down like a child... Borrow the money from your Mom for the bills. You can work and pay her off. I came along for you to buy me what I want. The next day or two the movies were gone, I never watched them, the clothes were never seen again and no explaination of where they were or what happened to them. He would anounce that he cleaned out the refrigerator. I should compliment him on a good job? Ha! I wanted to know what happened to the groceries that were purchased for the week. He would say... In the garden. Upon close examination of the contents in the garden, the food wasn't in the garden. Just the empty wrappers, etc. He was taking them somewhere else and throwing out the containers, etc. He always had excuses... for whatever he did. He would never answer any questions. He even said, I don't remember, so prove I do.

@@NARCDAILYYouAreNotAlone It was a nightmere. 24 years of it! The minute he drew his last breath, I was at his side. A message popped up on my phone. It read, God is always on time. I cling to that message. God's my only stregenth. I struggle every day. I feel lost, paralized, guilty, angry, the list continues every day. He didn't have a change of heart before death. So sorry he died in that emptiness. For 6 months I've felt like I've had to just make it through one day at a time. It's hard. Once he told me I didn't have a clue how evil he was, his eyes shone black staring in my eyes with contempt. I know! If I would list them or talk about them, people would tell me I'm insane. No I'm not. God is healing me with the help of good people. Thank you! I have lost myself along the way. Its a very scary place to be. I have had two tearful break throughs trying to connect to myself sence he passed. I think it's going to be a long journey. But It's the first day of the rest of my life. Baby steps. Andrew you are teaching me so much & helping me understand about our own family dynamics . Are these narcs born that way or did I create this monster . ❤After her boyfriend left . I said , daughter what are you doing . You just lost a hood man . She said I was trying to make him jealous . Really , I said more like trying to create more problems & da stove your own relationship . I washed the dishes crying for that young man that we lived so dearly . My son & I left so sad & hurting for him & my daughter . I was shaking my head trying to grasp what had just happened & I never u set stood it . I went over it & over it . I thought what am I in denial if . I spoke to my mother about it & she said honey for years I have been telling you that your daughter has something wrong with her mind from the spina-bifida. I said , mom , I don’t see it but I have been taking her to counselors & a psychiatrist & phycologist. They put her on anti-depressants but she refuses to take her phyc meds . Wow! Andrew there us so much just so much that We all went trough with her for many years & now I’m understanding it all . No wonder I’m so broken at 64 years of age & I have no self worth wondering why . I have & gave & gave . I was so empty . I had no more dreams . But now that she acts like she is too good for us & cut us off . I cut her off too . She needed grade A supplies but we didn’t go running this time . I ran into her again yesterday at the market for the second or third time & she vents about her life . Yesterday was a bit more dramatic & she said , her father was calling her a witch but with the bin front ,all night long & she said she called her uncle, his brother to come pick him up before she killed him . ❤He did . I told her I was so sorry to hear she has been going through so much & trifling . I told her to go home & get some rest . She said she hadn’t slept so she was going to go get some sleep . We said our good byes & parted ways . As I drove home I cried & prayed for her . She had bags under her eyes 😢& you could tell she had been crying a-lot . Something I very rarely witnessed .

I was 5 years in that relationship and after six months of me trying to apologize and try to work it out she messaged me that she had met someone new and that she’s getting married. And it’s true I found out her 10 year old son who was close to me called me out of the blue that he missed me . You can’t make this stuff up . I haven’t been gone 7 months and she has that man sleeping in the same bed that I slept in for the last 5 years . I’m hurt and I’m troubled . She’s not right they are crazy . Yes, so impulsive with no thought of others!! And when that impulsivity backfires, they get mad as hell! They are exhausting 😤 I got this narc relative that will just up and swing by folks' houses' at 2 or 3 in the morning, as if he's impressing people by being up so early. Anyhow, he showed up at his brother's house like that one day, but they were out of town. The narc let us all know about it via group text, ranting about how "no one communicates anymore" as if THEY had done something wrong to HIM. It's about a 4-hour drive for him. Never mind the fact he didn't call to let them know he was coming in the first place! Had he done so, they could've let him know they wouldn't be home. 🤯😒Narcs lack consideration for others, but they want consideration shown to them.

My ex-narcissist was a major hoarder, there wasn't room for me in the spare bedroom where he made me sleep. He never spent less than 300 dollars a week at the food co-op. He went there looking for supply, I'll never forget the afternoon that he ignored me to stare at this Mexican woman dressed in military outfit. I said something and he ran around the buffet got his food quickly and didn't go pay for it. He walked fast to the dining room where the Mexican military woman was setting and then claimed he didn't know she was sitting there. he said I made him nervous by pointing out his staring at her. I'd rather be alone as painful is that is. This behavior hurt me so much. I felt so devalued.

This was so spot on! 😮 my mum is a psycho, my dad is a narc. My mum hoards stuff, I cleared out 30years worth of her stuff after getting her ok for it after nagging her for weeks, then after she just hoarded more stuff...so it was pointless. I thought I was helping her. My dad would often lie that he went to work when instead he’d yelled at his boss and got fired, but he’d still dress in a suit every day, until he was ready to mention that he’d been fired. We all found this out later. My mum hates sitting still, it drives me nuts because it comes with her frustrated energy (which I can feel coming off her), it makes me feel uncomfortable and I often have to go upstairs to get away from her energy.

Thank You! This just proved to me that a friend that I knew for 20 years was a narcissist. He thinks this behavior is ok. That it’s ok not to contact your wife after being off work for hours. We’re no longer friends because of it

This video made me smile... Impulsive purchases to fill the huge void inside them.. I had them all in our 5 year relationship from a new top of the range Nissan Tera to 2 puppies from the market which were discarded weeks later... This is a very common trait of NPD individuals and can often be a major source of financial abuse to us victims who are expected to deal with the consequences of their reckless financial decisions. I thank the universe I am now in charge of my own destiny. DC

This is so fascinating! I witnessed the dog scenario, it's so true! Narc A suddenly brings home a puppy. Narc B was not expecting or wanting this but loves a dog so goes along with it. Narc A was not prepared or ready for introducing the puppy to the other dogs; it was a mess... and within 24-48 hours Narc A sells the puppy to a friend and didn't even tell Narc B they were doing it. Narc B was furious! It was so perplexing. Narc B, told me Narc A will spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on clothes. Some will never be worn. Some will have all their tags on them. It's piles of clothes and this is often highlighted on their social media. Narc A will buy a new car but won't properly park the vehicle so it gets wrecked and Narc A doesn't even seem to care or notice. There is a wild carelessness with Narc A. Narc B is less of a wild card but they are brooding, sullen, spontaneously explosive- over anything- a compliment and inquiry- doesn't matter. The times I actually saw Narc B happy was few and far between- eyes on the phone a lot. Narc B's memory seemed good for 24 hours at times... maybe a struggle with object constancy. I also think along with impulsivity is poor planning- such as running late, not predicting potential problems or hazards because of a lack of clear planning. If you can't be introspective for yourself, I don't know how well you could plan to be successful in future endeavors that require a framework of stability while not screwing people over in the process.
