Well spoken and many need to hear this .As a disabled person my needs out of the home are few, why not local council laws that people open for business be accessible! Dozens of our local businesses have a step up access, great if you are in a wheelchair or on mobility scooter, hardly helps one’s self esteem or independence, hard enough not being able to walk without further challenges !

The disability discrimination act forty years ago legislated that. For access and employment and education in all areas of life.It just hasnt been enforced. Especially in health care settings. I expect government to not have to be enforced. However perhaps if we had disability commissioners they could inspect government places first and apply fines for non compliance.I think the greatest thing is knowledge and understanding amongst all the people. People assume that its all tickety boo for PWD they really dont know. A lot can be accomodated for with understanding as it gives solidarity.Thank you so much for commenting.Especially PWD your voice matters the most here.
