Indeed. BIG FAIL for them to go with the ugly, bug-faced, 2009-era headlight. By contrast, round headlights are timeless and will never go out of style. That's why the original Hornets (599 and 919 here in the USA) still look so good to this day.

Most, but not all. I (and many others I'm sure) enjoy the feel and responce of a cable throttle way more than its electronic counterpart (present on any bike with "rider modes"). I'd be willing to give up other features (like the modes, auto blip, etc) to retain it. Same goes for that ridiculous monstrosity they call a gauge cluster. I already have a big screen. Several, actually. Don't need one on the bike. It'll make all the professional opinion-havers very happy I'm sure, but to me it detracts from the experience.

Absolutely! The 650 has that solid and robust quality look. The 750 looks like some shit made of cheap plastic. Why can't honda move away from the old design language? They did it with the 300, 650, and 1000, but kept the old language with the 500, and now kept it again for this. Based on what honda have said, I was really expecting something different and cool, not a cb500f with a bigger engine and a 5 inch TFT display. Sad. I thought honda would use this as an opportunity, but took two steps back with the look while taking a step forward with everything else. I was super excited but now I'm just looking at this as another bike to look past.

Dig deeper into the specs. It’s technically not the Cb500f chassis... but it is... the tires/rotors, the rear suspension, the weight, the size, the same forks, the same headlight... it’s more displacement, smaller gas tank, led lights, tft changes - that’s it. The CB650R has far more in common with the Hornet lineage than this new 750. Every Hornet until now, whether 250, 600, or 900, has been an inline four. Most of them had round headlights and a UJM-inspired look. All were supposed to be sporty nakeds that could double up as commuter bikes. This CB750 looks fine, but slapping the "Hornet" label on it seems a bit arbitrary.

@@ignaciobrenner1620 most people like that low to mid torque. Some like top end torque. But the supersport sound of inline 4 is so good. It screams. A perfect bike would be inline 4 sound at low to mid range torque like that of a v twin. But that's not possible. Most of these bikes bring their full potential on highways and not on regular commutes so inline 4 is awesome on highways. It pulls like a spaceship like in Interstellar travel.

@ignaciobrenner1620 Жыл бұрын
@@Oatmeal4Breakfast mmm i really dont agree with the "pulling" you say. The perfect bikes are not 4 cylinder bikes. The best bikes are triples, that´s why no one is making 4 cylinder bikes. They are almost extint for a good reason.
@Oatmeal4Breakfast
@Oatmeal4Breakfast Жыл бұрын
@@ignaciobrenner1620 I didn't say 4 cyl bikes are perfect I said it's their sound that is perfect. And if with the early torque of a v twin for popping wheelies and quick accn, that would be a perfect all rounder bike. But all of that doesn't matter if you're going on a weekend blast on highways or racetrack and not in day to day traffic commutes. You can always keep the engine on boil to extract the max power of 4 cyl. And in that situation only the sound of the engine matters and that's where inline 4 wins. And the smoothness vibe free that it brings is also an added bonus. The only thing 4 cyl are lacking is their low to mid range torque which is very essential for in and out traffic accn. without burning much fuel and drawing unnecessary attention when you're not really going fast. But still the accn is more than enough to go woosh* from stop or slow moving traffic, it's just that it's not as good as v twin bikes. But on highways 4 cyl is better than any twin or 3 cyl coz of the top end performance. Thumpers Twin and 3 cyl will run out of max torque much earlier than 4 cyl when you're going really really fast. There's a reason for almost all leader bikes having 4 cyl. And no; 4 cyl are not going away. They're just going away in the middleweight segment. 1000 cc is dominated by 4 cyl.

The Hornet is marketing’s way of generating media interest and means that any future bike will be introduced as ‘having the engine from the Hornet’ and not ‘having the engine from the 750F’ to give added interest, kudos and credibility.

Hello, From a visual analysis of your video, in my humble opinion this model is no replacement for cb650r. Its rather a parts bin bike. It appears to be a mash-up between cycle parts and chassis of the 2022 cb500f, instrumentation of the 2022 cb1000r, and engine derived from maybe the nc750. I have owned both the 500f and 1000r platforms and am familiar with them. Observe for instance the tail section assy, rear footrest assy, front disk brakes, forks, and even the exhaust can to some extent - all closely resembling the cb500f. Even the rear tire is only 160 section not the 180 section common for mid weight street bikes. Only the fuel tank appears to be a new form. The cb650r is just a more high quality machine - more bike. Folks who were going to buy the cb500f may now get conflicted with this cb750 Hornet. Its just a beefed-up cb500f. Maybe even a spiritual successor to the earlier cb650f rather (minus 2 cylinders). Thank you and kind Regards!

Damn, I almost regret buying an SV650 now. Almost. 🙂 The CB750 seems to have its peak power at the highest RPM of all the twins, thats almost red line. I'm sure it will have no problems since its a Honda, but I dont like to be so close to red line, so I think at reasonable rpm it will not have that much more power over the Yamaha and Suzuki. I was kinda hoping it would be a long stroking engine, kinda like the Africa Twin, with lots of low end torque. Still I can not wait to test ride this baby. With a round Headlight it would look better though, but thats my taste.

I own a CB500F right now and this bike is basically the bigger up specc'd brother! 90hp is such a nice step up and will feel significantly punchier than any of the Trident/SV650/MT07 offerings. @@chrishart8548 Yep it's smart. Creating an identical product makes for a much sharper head to head competition. Here they can upsell from the MT-07 crew on the basis of TFT screen alone. Or power. Or USD suspension. People will be willing to pay for it as long as it doesn't bump itself into a totally new price bracket (MT-09). This is a softer Duke 890 for commuting and playing. Nothing else on the market like it. We will have to wait for the specs for the new SV700 but I think that will compete more on the budget side. I hope Honda does Up/Down quick shifter on this bike and it will be perfect.

@@drewmorg. reminds me of when bmw came out with the f800 bikes (800cc twin) most of the competition was either 650 of 1000cc or an inline 4 and when bmw offered an 800 or a 1200 honda did the Africa twin 1000cc better than the 800 not as good as the 1200. Clearly a one-up answer to the Trident! A TCS/Rev limiter killing sport mode would have been nice on mine. Honda did just make things a wee bit harder for Triumph with this one though. Both the Tuono 660 and Rs 660 beats all these bikes hands down for what they give you out of the gate. Cruise control, super electronics, all kinds of adjustability to suspension. Only issue is that it’s Italian. Damn things break too often: oil leaks; coolant leaks; mistimed valves; connecting rods breaking; electronics crapping out. You could have any one of those issues, all of them, or none of them. You simply don’t know. And if something gives, your bikes garaged for a couple months cos getting parts takes forever. If aprilia didn’t have this issue, I would’ve been all over it 😔
