I think Washington is going to take Maye, which leaves us Daniels, MHJ or a trade down, which is my LEAST favorite option. Phil - get working on those third day CB, LT and DL options. Who the heck knows WHAT they’re doing with the #3 pick, Wolf/Mayo/AVP aren’t telling anyone if they’re confident with Maye OR Daniels (or just trying to generate interest for trading the pick) so let’s start working on your 3rd day “fits” which we love every year.

Phil I’m proud of you for coming off your spot on Jayden Daniels. For me I’m happy with either but I’m almost sure based on Ron and Elliott Wolfs past history and their disciples that they prefer Maye based on body type. The only thing that bothers me about Maye is he had a chance to go to Bama last year and compete to win a national championship and he stayed at UNC with nobody. Jayden Daniels on the other hand went to the SEC and wanted the smoke and balled out.

How much does the receiver factor into Turnover Worthy Throws? I’m just thinking CJ Stroud throwing a TWT to MHJ is going to be significantly less risky than Maye throwing one to Tez Walker (just for example). Stroud maybe threw more TWT just due to the talent he had at the position, and not needing to worry about as much separation (better receivers means more risk tolerance)

His Dad was a college QB. His brother is a pro basketball player. His brother plays baseball for UNC. This isn’t a kid who isn’t going to understand that it’s going to take WORK to continue to improve (unlike a Zach Wilson) and he’s only 21 so we shouldn’t expect a lot of polish at this point. AVP is known for fixing technique and footwork, Maye’s only questions. I think the Pats are drooling to get Maye and are just driving up the cost of a trade if the Commanders take Maye and they don’t love Jayden Daniels. Whether they use the 3rd pick or trade out for more picks to fill more spots, the Pats are in an enviable position.

Here is absolutely the way I could see this playing out: Maye doesn't play much, if at all, and takes till year 3 (like Allen) to appear "on his way." Daniels, meanwhile, will actually pop and do some amazing things his first 2 years (and send Pats Nation off the cliff if he's not doing it here)...and by year 3 missing 8 games a season. By year 5 traded, benched or out of football (like RG3)because he can't stay healthy. Not a certainty it WILL happen, but absolutely possible. I'd be scared to death Daniels will get killed every time he runs.

I feel Phil Perry is the only one who has been reasonable and realistic about this rebuild. I don't know what brain bugs are eating away at a Tom E. Curran. But his idea of how to rebuild is Insanity go overpay for guys in a year where there wasn't shit for free agents. But do it anyway. Then trade back in the draft because he doesn't like any of the QBs at the top and get a bunch of picks and bring in low ceiling project QB because your not ready and just hope that somewhere down the road a top tiered prospect lands in you lap. The idea should be for sustainability down the road. The Pats don't need to run around signing bad contracts because of your impatience. Because fans and people like Curran can't handle a slow rebuild through draft and development. When good free agents come on the market like Calvin Ridley, you try to get him you make a competitive offer, but you don't overpay. Cause what happens next year when a better WR comes on the market, you set a floor of 25 million and 55 guaranteed for a 30 year old WR. That's so short-sighted it makes my eyes go crossed. It's like Curran and the Felgers and Mazz of the world wanted them to overpay so they could then attack them for overpaying. The Wide Receivers coming up through college are getting better and better. Now it won't become the RB position where you can get one at anytime in any draft but close you will have to draft a stud No1 WR and sign him to a big contract after his rookie one. But after that, anything that's isn't a no.1. If they don't want to take a reasonable deal, then you go back in the draft, and you will find a good number 2 or 3 WR. Long way of saying Phil Perry knows what he is talking about.

Russell, Brees, and Kyler Murray are some of the only short QBs to make it. Some size is needed. Obviously being tall isn't a sure thing either look at the Broncos they draft anyone 6'5" and up, how's that working for them 🤣. There's just a higher percentage of finding a guy. It's just a numbers game, give yourself the highest chances to hit

I’m telling you, Drake is going to be a elite QB in the NFL for the next 10+ years. So is Jaden. So whoever is there after Washington. Take them. There’s not going to be another generational quarterback for a long time like Jaden and Drake. Yes, every Draft one guy or two guy get hyped up. Not like this though. Drake did better than Josh Allen and Justin Herbert in college. Had less to work with. Jaden had arguably the two best receivers on one team in all of college. His game though is off the charts. I will be so happy to get either one of them. I believe they are both going to be amazing. I’m not too sure about Caleb Williams.

I 100% agree. This year's class was being talked about last year. I have yet to hear any hype about next year's class. They look like they'll be like the 2022 class. Out of the 9 QBs selected 4 have already been traded and 1 (Zappe) is being replaced. Purdy is the only starter and even then he's not elite IMO.

@@frantheman1287 the only hype about next year’s class is tackles. Next draft is supposed to have very good tackles. The next Great quarterbacks are probably 10th graders in high school right now. @youtubeconnollyfamily which is good cuz we need 2-3 Tackles so we can kick Onwenu back to RG where he belongs. I really think we should just go QB-WR-Tackle with the first 3 picks. Even if we gotta trade back into the 1st round to get a top WR. The Vikings just proved its not very expensive to do that

Take Maye and let him sit. There’s no need to force him to start on a team who’s likely gonna finish with under 6 wins again. They’ll likely have a top 5-8 pick again next year to go get that WR for when Maye will start. It’s a multi year build. Your delusional if you think they’re gonna draft a qb and be a good team this year lol

Screw the analytics people. Maye is Sam Darnold. Same size, strengths, weaknesses, age, and the exact same college career stats. if you want to become the NY Jets, select Drake Maye with the #3 pick. If Maye is left at #3, you trade down, take the extra picks and build up the roster. This is a multi-year rebuild.

@@frantheman1287 Daniels likely is more ready to play right away as he has two more years of college experience than Maye and won the Heisman trophy while playing in a top conference. However, because of his physical tools, Maye could be the better long term prospect. Washington may very well see Maye as having the potential to start in his rookie year. They are keeping their cards close to their chest so we may have to wait until draft day before we find out their intentions.
