I love Coraline so much! On the topic of Rapunzels hair, there are several braiding and twisting techniques that can pull hair up into a much shorter looking style. I grew up in a cult like church (also studied cosmetology once I got out of there) where women were not aloud to cut their hair, ever, and we all learned a lot of hairstyles to tuck our hair up into very short looking styles and keep it out of our faces. So Rapunzels original braid was probably tucked under and back up towards her neck and the remaining hair was rebraided over top of the tucked braid to make a shorter, fatter braid.

Consider the following: what if Beldam doesn't need to eat children to be alive or something. Both in the movie and in the book, she's depicted eating bugs, so she's probably not foodless, as far as it seems? But what if bugs are like soup or stewed chicken or cooked carrots, while children are more like filet mignon or fudge cake? Maybe they just taste better or fill her with carbs and energy Or, alternatively, what if having the love of a child strengthen her magic, turning her more powerful? So, in a way, it *does* feed her, just not directly. On a second hand, maybe the reason why she changes when she confronts Coraline is because A) her powers come from her emotional stability, so, if she's happy or calm, she can keep her form, but if she gets angry or feels threatened, she slowly starts to loose it or B) using her magic powers for too long *does* make her tired, so she needs to sleep or lay down constantly to keep it up, and confronting Coraline just made her more and more tired, emotionally speaking

The Beldam (probably) doesn't actually kill and eat the children, but instead traps them and forcefully feeds on their love/emotions/life-force until they die, at which point they die or slowly fade away, leaving only the soul which is kept in the room behind the mirror. As for B), the other father at one point says "all will be well soon as mother's refreshed", implying that she needs some time to rest or recover after using a disguise, so that's why after she kidnaps Mel and Charlie and takes on her disguise again, she almost immediately discards it as soon as Coraline goes through the tunnel; she's low on energy/tired.

I am not happy with the upcoming changes to KZbin. A lot of adults also love cartoons and should be able to talk about them in KZbin comments. Adults who like cartoons, toys or anything else that is traditionally for children are hurting the most with all these changes. I hope that KZbin reconsiders some of these changes. Yes! I'd love to get more theories and character case studies up for Disenchantment. I thought I'd have another one up by now but, oh my gosh, there are so many new things being released recently that I can't get videos out fast enough! And I completely agree that KZbin is again being short-sighted in how they're categorizing things. Even adult movies come with special collectors editions that usually have toys included. Geeks and collectibles go together! And even Disney said he made his movies for Adults. So the fact that everyone is going to be penalized because KZbin (which requires you to be 13+ to even sign up!) won't make a public stance that they aren't a children's website is just so frustrating!

KZbin should just make a sub-section for videos for kids tgat allows no comments so parents can click auto play and entertain their fussy toddler for a while, while creators who post for analyzing or toy reviews etc can have their section with comments allowed to foster their fans and community. Don’t like theories? Have a preference box that you can hide theory videos, or other things and the recommendations auto play bots will remove those from your playlist. Diversify, don’t Pleasantville us!!!!

I think the reason the Beldam didn't have any children for 49 years was because Wiley's grandma wouldn't let kids live in the palace after her sister. But if the Beldam does have doors to other places then maybe they were all blocked off or people didn't want kids to live there either. That would mean that there's multiple keys to open the doors, but Coraline threw one down the well. I wonder if it will just reappear in the drawer like the doll reappears every time the Beldam alters it to look like another kid. Like if the key was back in the drawer when Coraline eventually moved out of the palace. Why does the Beldam always kidnap girls though? Please explain!!!! =D

If parents want their kids to be baby sat by a streaming service they should be using KZbin Kids but that is not the case so KZbin wants to protect its younger viewers. It's kinda like how tv used to be really censored. If KZbin were smart they would just have a small survey that you can fill out. One of those questions could be have you heard of KZbin Kids. That way more child focused creators would know about it and more people with children would know about it. KZbin just needs to figure out that it can't be everything to everyone.

In 2018 KZbin got called out on bad content creators, and, instead of just getting rid of those people directly called out, they started punishing everyone else. They started saying you had to be family friendly or you wouldn't earn money. Well, now they're saying in 2020 if you are too family friendly you won't earn money. How do you win? I feel like KZbin needs new people running the platform. The constant changes are bi-polar and usually detrimental to the very creators they should be investing in (you know, the newer ones who aren't getting big contract deals to do other things or make paid content). But, Nikita I 100000% agree that KZbin needs to come out and publicly say they are not a place to leave your child unsupervised - that's why you have to be 13+ to make an account on here!

Maybe the Beldam can feed on strong emotions in general. She seems to prefer emotions like joy and love, but if she can also feed on Coraline's hate/fear that would explain why she was strong enough to trap Coraline's parents and fully transform into Coraline's mother. Btw: I would like to hear stories about you, I'm sure you have a lot of interesting things to say. I wish you the best, and that these problems with youtube end soon.

My theory is that the Beldam's illusions will only work as long as the child desires to be part of her world. It looks to me that Coraline was the only child to challenge and offer resistance to her advances, and after that the loveliness in the "other" world starts to wear out and Beldam quickly shows her true colours. Since the previous victims accepted the witch's deal, they probably didn't get to see her physical transformation until it was too late. Any illusion of any kind will loose its hold on us the moment we decide we don't want to be part of it anymore.

I'm so sorry that KZbin is becoming so hard I love your theory videos especially for alone. You work too hard for this! To answer your first question I LOVE and am passionate about anything to do with horror movies. So you could do something horror related. Movie series such as nightmare on elm street and final destination! You could also maybe start doing reaction videos to things (though I understand there's a lot of copyright issues that go along with that so maybe that's not something you'd want to do idk. Yes I would love to hear you tell story times! I love listening to story times and I don't mind them being on another channel of that's what's best for you :) I think personally anyway I'd prefer them to be live action like this video. It's easier for you but also feels more personal and authentic to actually see you telling your stories :)

I had a theory that maybe the movie IT and coralline are actually connected and here’s why Using both the book and the movie i theorised that the other mother is actually a parasprite within pennywise the clown, there’s a bit in the book that everytime she went up and down the corridor it changed and felt like a living thing (I support this more with the idea its a river snake) could you please do a theory based on this? So as for franchises, I recommend: The Conjuring franchise The Neverending Story franchise As for Story time Videos: I myself am a huge fan of those, so count me in! As for live action, I really love watching you sit and just talk, I also feel more connected. However animations might open up a door to a new audience. And of course you said you haven't done that in a while and it might not be moving figures at first as well as animations in general often meaning a lot of work, however you will get better as time passes. Even if not now you will definitely in the future and you can really expand that away from Story time Videos and onto other videos, too like doing maybe your Theory videos like that~ It's up for you to decide, though. Everything has its pro and cons. I guess you just have to find the best working thing for you💜

I absolutely love coraline!!, I've loved it since I watched it when I was younger!. Um I think maybe the other mother or the Beldam changed forms throughout the film because her 'mask' was slipping and when coraline really annoyed her (when the Beldam threw coraline into the mirror) she quickly changed forms to her form that was really less appealing and looked less friendly, because originally she looked like Mel to lure Coraline in and make her feel comfortable, like how a spider lures a pray into there web maybe? Oh and the other mother became more and more desperate as the film went on!.

Love to see Coraline back 🤩 I would like to see more list videos about series, movies, anime, books, etc. Idk if KZbin considere anime kids content tho 🤔 Story times are cool, really enjoy hearing you talk. Simple drawing and some meme images in my opinion are enough. I would suggest trying incorporating them in this channel first. Maybe videos trying some food like seasonal candies for example (?) Horror and mystery movies tend to be the most popular for video analysis. Hope this is somehow helpful.

Okay, as much as I did love your previous vids in this movie, I hadn’t ever really latched onto that limbo theory until this one. That ditch analogy made it make so much more sense. As for other genres, I personally love horror in general- you could go over movies like American Psycho or Carrie, y’know, the classics? I feel like those would do especially well now since it’s October anyway. Or maybe a series like Stranger Things, or the Haunting of Hill House, or AHS, for those who watch that. Idk if you’ve already done a video over this but if you would like to know why the Beldam changes then please read this. The beldam is a changling, a changling is a fairy child with a deformity, and when a fairy child has a deformity the fairy’s usually swaps the changling with a human child. And fairy’s live about 1000-1500 years (according to folklore) so basically some changlings grow up thinking they are humans others know they are changlings and will most likely become evil. And fairy’s have no soul but most believe that humans do so she decided to capture human souls so that she could have an afterlife. She was around 200 years old when she died. I hope this explains something cool, merry Christmas!🎄🎁 (wow this is long)

I will always love theory videos! But also knowing that you used to animate makes me really curious about your art. Maybe you could do drawing process videos? That way you can talk about whatever you want and have a video to fill the space. There are a lot of channels that currently do that, but I don’t think it would be a rip off to start making videos like that. The symbolism that directors use in their cinematography has always been extremely interesting to me and I would enjoy your take on that with more serious or dramatic movies/tv shows. Ooooh I love symbolism in cinematography too! People always tell me that I'm over thinking it, but it's like "no! There's book published about all these techniques and angles telling secret stories!" lol I think I will be doing "art" story time videos (I won't dare call them animated yet!) I just have to get my head back in the game of drawing. And... doing it digitally... which I have very little practice in. But, the worse I can do it make something no one wants to watch, so the stakes aren't all that high! 😂

I also wouldn't mind seeing more doctor who videos. Rule number one is the doctor always lies. That brings into question everything he/she has ever said. In a show about time travel there is a lot of mileage for theories. And it is a targeted adult audience so you'll be able to have comments enabled. You could also make theory videos on other popular non children related shows that are out. Or even educational videos on how to do film theory. Like what things are in a scene that or intentionally placed (lighting, actors dialog, ect) to envoke or imply things. Or how to disect a scene with a disconcerting eye.

I am so sorry that KZbin is doing that to you! I love your theories, and theory videos are my favorite thing on KZbin. "Kid" movies are my favorite thing even though I am (technically) an adult. If you are looking for non-cartoon material, I am obsessed with Good Omens, another work by Neil Gaiman. I can also see you doing something like watching the new fall shows and doing analysises on it, predictions and recommdations.

I'm frustrated with KZbin but I hope it calms down and things don't turn out as badly as it's looking. Animation has always been my specialty area so I can't see myself completely giving up that genre, but it'd be really helpful if KZbin would get their information in order and out to creators. I have a point that really helps the pink palace theory! At the end the garden in the pink palace is still in the shape of Coralines face which I am pretty sure is not a coincidence! One of the things another KZbinr I watch asks his audience to do is to immediately watch another video from his channel. He says it tremendously helps the algorithm recognize that not only are people watching your videos but that they want to watch more of your videos. It’ll also help increase viewership on other videos. Hope that helps. I thought it was odd when I stopped getting suggestions for your videos.

Story time sounds fun- I personally prefer animated stuff (but live action would still be cool). Also genres I enjoy other than kids cartoon stuff, maybe you could discuss literature and fun fiction books, comic books, etc? Like perhaps YOUNG ADULT (teenage) novels, those videos are pretty popular often, especially if you do popular book series. i think the less things go her way or unplanned she changes her mood and looks. its kinda like they were going on a straight path according to plan and when coraline refused the button eyes, that was an obstacle for the beldam so she started to feel and get angrier and she slowly started to look like her original form. thats a good idea though that her magic or power was draining, maybe coraline´s desire to be with the beldam of to be in the other world is what keeps the beldam looking like mel jones,(coraline´s mom) or keeps the magic going. so when coraline started to want to leave the beldam and the other world the beldams looks and personality towards coraline started to change and the beldam started to look like her original form, before she started to "impersonate" mel jones. i also think that when coraline started to collect the ghost children´s eyes, the beldam started wasting magic on all the little extra things that came with that quest, for example: the moon timer or clock, the world dissapearing outside the house, the extra mice or rats that were impersonating mr bobinsky, the spider web on the floor inside the drawing room, etc. i dont know if its a good theory or not but i think it could be possible. and i think she used magic to make the whole other dimension that is the other world. thanks for reading the whole way through, i really really appreciate it! have a great rest of your day/night!

I'm a big fan of sci-fi movies and series like Blade Runner, Altered Carbon, Stranger Things, etc. I think sci-fi is relatively open and vague enough that you could pull a lot of theories out of that genre. You could always venture into gaming theories, granted there are other channels that do that already, but there are a lot of games out there with unanswered questions they present and delving into that would also probably garner more subscribers. I'm sorry youtube has been so hard on you, it totally sucks that smaller channels are just tossed aside when they offer such unique personalities and views. I hope things turnaround for you because the Coraline videos are my favorite!

As for content that is (not necessarily kid friendly), have you considered movie dissections of movies that SHOULD have performed better than they did and why? (Ideas that come to mind are The Last Witch Hunter, Stardust, and the newest Conan the Barbarian remake.) I don't know enough about KZbin to know what they think they're doing, but good luck!

Fan of what you already do!! Big into sci-fi , fantasy, action-adventure, the kid fantasy movies like “Camp Nowhere” and “Accepted”, anime, new and old school, and of course all things now owned by Disney! Would watch a story time series, as long as the story was either entertaining or had a take away, love your Chanels bc it entertains and makes me think differently or deeper on a topic! In regards to animation, take a look at “Overly Sarcastic Productions” the pair review tv troops and legends, but the point here, is they do character stills( with mouths!) with a higher animated main background then brings up all these sketches to make their point. Obviously you don’t want to copy everything, but it’s a mix of animation levels and styles, so maybe you can do storytime with live intros and outros, and have varied animation for the story, some basic, then video game cut scene to higher detail at key points. I do love your analysis, and hope YT gets their heads on straight to address comments that are productive . You might be able to branch into discussing book series, the worlds the authors create, series that haven’t been discussed to death, for example the “Protector of the Small “ series and tie in /follow up series by Tamora Pierce have apparently a film deal in the works! Might be neat to introduce the world before they watch the film(s?)! Well good luck, I’ll still be looking for and watching your videos!!

Hey Fangirl, I feel so bad for your channel going through such a difficult time. I've loved your videos for a long time, but I've definitely noticed that your channel stopped appearing as much a while ago, I didn't realize it was THIS bad! Here's my input: Question 1: I have no idea if it would be popular, but if they're targeting videos for children, what about more teenage-based media? Things like The Princess Diaries, Heathers, Clueless...you might have a somewhat similar audience & I'd definitely be interested in watching those! Question 2: I would love to watch story time videos!! No question!! Question 3: I think it would be a better idea to post story time videos to The Fanily channel, at least for now. I don't want your theory channel to lose any more attention or subscribers due to a split in focus. The Fanily seems like the perfect channel to post more personal videos, especially if they're going to start targeting your toy & collectible videos there (yikes KZbin) Question 4: I would enjoy either live-action or animated, or a mix of both! Animation is very difficult and time consuming though...so, just a thought, maybe you could do the video in live-action, and try animating just small sections of the video to emphasize important points? I'm not sure if that's another KZbinr's style or not, maybe someone else will know? One more thought, have you considered shifting some of your vlogging (and derping) to your Twitch channel for supplemental income? I know you use that for gaming, but I feel like you could do well on there with Twitch Sings, discussions about collectibles, AMA streams, & maybe even live theory discussions! It might take some time to adjust and gain a following but I'd support the heck out of you!

I don't think I'd ever delete anything I put up, but KZbin can if they decide I don't match their guidelines one day (and they're always changing). I don't plan to leave KZbin either, unless they just get so bad there's no point in posting any more. I really hope it doesn't get like that, but they really need to shift focus to smaller creators instead of pushing the giant channels to get bigger.

Could you try looking at the Transformers series? Maybe do some theories/analysis on Transformers Prime. You could do the Godzilla movies. Also 1954's "THEM!" would be a neat review!
