It's worth remembering that Justin Langer set this up for the Scorchers and WA cricket. When he got the top job for WA, we were in disarray. He tore it all apart and put in a sustainable system that would breed success. Voges has acknowledged the groundwork JL made on a number of occassions.

It's definitely the best way to motivate a side, have an identity greater than just the club. It's why so many in all sports dig so much deeper for their nation than club/franchise.

I think the only other team to come close to scorchers level of success is the Sixers. I think they are also successful because their players have stuck around for years instead of just club hopping to wear the money is. Great content

Everything starts from the leadership group I reckon. Ashton turner has got a high potential and still don't why he's not been able to make it through to the national team. A good finisher with the bat and he's also got game to play in the middle overs of the game against some quality spin bowling. Can bowl some handy offspinners and an excellent fielder and above all has got a great head to lead a team from the front. Still young and feels like soon he's going to get his due I reckon especially with the current situation of australian cricket team in both limited overs format. Who knows he might as well lead the aussie team in near future perhaps after the 2023 world cup?

Watching this today just after getting over the Renegades on boxing day 2023. Ashton Turner out for the season. I think that, Cooper Connolly needs to be batting where is he was then. That leaves The Scorchers with a decision to rather bat Eskinazi up the top or bring up Agar or get Green back from National duties if that allows. But It's their dilemma now losing A Turner for the season after knee surgery.
