One valuable lesson I’ve learned from billionaires is the importance of putting your money to work and diversifying your investments. This year, I plan to invest about $30,000 of my savings in stocks, and I'm hopeful it will bring in profits.

You are right. The best approach I feel is to diversify investments- by spreading investments across different asset classes like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown.

Accurate asset allocation is crucial. Some use hedging or defensive assets in their portfolio for market downturns. Seeking financial advice is vital. This approach has kept me financially secure for over five years, with a return on investment of nearly $1 million.

The United States as we know it is no more. All signs point to 2024 being a year of significant economic hardship for the entire nation. Put your cash to use straight away to increase its value. I was aware that I needed to invest. I had no idea how quickly a few thousand dollars a month would go up. Though it is. Since 2023, I've made about $600,000.

Another propaganda by the leftist news media. Borrowing against your asset ($200B in Elon Musk's case) is NOT an income - it's a loan! When stock options are vested, it is taxed immediately. Also, inheritance is taxed when it goes above the threshold, which is $13.61 million per individual or $27.22 million per married couple. So anything above the threshold is heavily taxed, and in Musk's case virtually all of his $200B asset will be taxed at the maximum rate if he is no longer with us now. It also conveniently didn't mention that in 2021, Elon Musk paid about $11 billion just in federal taxes.

The average person has never been so poor. Millions of families are struggling financially as living expenses hit the highest levels in more than four decades. Over 60% of our country lives paycheck to paycheck and about 40% earns poverty wages. Even after working all their lives, more than a quarter of older people have no savings and many believe they will never be able to retire in dignity, while around 55% of elderly people try to survive on an income of less than 25,000 a year.

Those billionaires may "worth" billions of $, but they certainly don't have billions in their bank account. If they ever try to sell their shares in large number, the price will *plummet.* Furthermore, the market cap of tech companies in the US are generally 20+ times their actual value. Which greatly inflated the worth of tech billionaires (Musk, Bezos, Zuck, etc). If Tesla is not tech company but consumer goods company, it would probably valued at ~1/20 of its current value (~$32 B), which is still a massive multi billion $ corporation, but nowhere near its current astronomical market cap of ~$650 B.

If he becomes the world's first trillionaire, it's because he's taken HUGE risks and works his ass off constantly. In turn, the US get electric vehicles without buying them from China, including American batteries. We get grid-scale energy storage a decade earlier than we would have. We get autonomous vehicles that aren't geo-fenced. We get rockets that land themselves. We get a lunar lander for 1/2 the cost of the competition. The ENTIRE world gets internet, even in the middle of the ocean or up in the air. And some quadriplegics can operate computers with their minds! @@bibby3027 Reaganomics is more fiscal policy than monetary policy. Economists tend to use “monetary policy” to refer to the federal reserve and its actions (interest rate control and liquidity injections), and “fiscal policy” to refer to the actions of congress (government spending and taxing). When I talk about Reaganomics, I’m talking about stuff congress did with his help. Lower taxes on corporations and the wealthy, laws tweaked to make it easier for industries to merge into oligopolies, harsher treatment of unions to reduce labor’s share of the pie, etc.

Taxes on assets and holdings would be tricky. Especially when people's houses become $1 Million in value. You have a million dollars home but you don't really have million dollars unless you sell it. Same to do with owning a company. If you make the company spend all the profits they will be inviting in the company to grow the value. You could just pay more to the employees which would get you the best employees which means your business would grow more. Or just let the government take all the taxes and waste it.

It's because we have no safeguards against exploitative capitalism. You are just showing the slow failing of the US and capitalism. The only incentive to help others if rich is when you can further profit and the goal is to always price goods and services as high as consumers are willing to pay to further that goal. The issue is that it also incentivizes paying as little as possible to make more which is why AI and robotics continue to expand and the pay gap continues to expand
