Another propaganda by the leftist news media. Borrowing against your asset ($200B in Elon Musk's case) is NOT an income - it's a loan! When stock options are vested, it is taxed immediately. Also, inheritance is taxed when it goes above the threshold, which is $13.61 million per individual or $27.22 million per married couple. So anything above the threshold is heavily taxed, and in Musk's case virtually all of his $200B asset will be taxed at the maximum rate if he is no longer with us now. It also conveniently didn't mention that in 2021, Elon Musk paid about $11 billion just in federal taxes.

Those billionaires may "worth" billions of $, but they certainly don't have billions in their bank account. If they ever try to sell their shares in large number, the price will *plummet.* Furthermore, the market cap of tech companies in the US are generally 20+ times their actual value. Which greatly inflated the worth of tech billionaires (Musk, Bezos, Zuck, etc). If Tesla is not tech company but consumer goods company, it would probably valued at ~1/20 of its current value (~$32 B), which is still a massive multi billion $ corporation, but nowhere near its current astronomical market cap of ~$650 B.

They get rich by building their companies, hiring more people, paying better wages, so the employees can provide for their families. Also, they are the ones that take all of the risk.

For the Newbie if you are actually trading in the crypto space and you don't have a sound mentor. Then you are certainly going to get liquidated in 90% of your trades. Yeah that's sad truth. I remember when i just got into crypto back in 2019 but later in 2020 i ended up selling it because i have lost alot trading all by myself without a guide. Got back into crypto early in 2023 with $100k and I'm up with $632k in a short period of time. Thanks to Katherine Stewart.

The first time we had tried, we invested $1400 and after a week we received $5,230. That really helped us a lot to pay our bills.

Taxes on assets and holdings would be tricky. Especially when people's houses become $1 Million in value. You have a million dollars home but you don't really have million dollars unless you sell it. Same to do with owning a company. If you make the company spend all the profits they will be inviting in the company to grow the value. You could just pay more to the employees which would get you the best employees which means your business would grow more. Or just let the government take all the taxes and waste it.

Why are we forgetting the thousands that the wealthy employee through their innovations. If you want to tax and demoralize them, who will invent new products and services to keep the Capitalist system of America working??

So if you say tax the rich, basically you believe that tax money will then go to cheaper healthcare, better public schools, improved infrastructure, fast bullet trains, etc. You believe the government will take care of you , I don't…

Rich get richer because they’re very smart and work very hard.
@nicknames5141Ай бұрын
It's because we have no safeguards against exploitative capitalism. You are just showing the slow failing of the US and capitalism. The only incentive to help others if rich is when you can further profit and the goal is to always price goods and services as high as consumers are willing to pay to further that goal. The issue is that it also incentivizes paying as little as possible to make more which is why AI and robotics continue to expand and the pay gap continues to expand
@nicknames5141Ай бұрын
The end will be when we just "rent" everything and I honestly don't think our legislation is going to stop it since it also allowed the rich to create the housing crisis by buying up tens of thousands of properties.
