I agree, Howe has mentioned recently and in the past that entirely resting a player isn’t always the best option, they need to keep sharp so even just 10-15 minutes is probably useful and isn’t going to harm his fitness levels

i really think even isak would have struggled in the first half today as there was no intensity and no movement in the first half until Gordon and bruno came on osula took his goal well so I think ne needs to be given more minutes so really think he should have played the full 90 minutes

I thought we completely outclassed the league 2 side today who spent most of the game in a low block. That is good news with 9 changes. Not like the traditional Newcastle cup stumble at all. It might not have been the greatest game, but we are in the 4th round.

Osula scored against this level, but he looked out of his depth apart from that. Had a really good chance in front of the keeper, but fell over the ball. Scares the life out of me that we're an Isak injury away from needing to look to Osula for goals and genuine contributions to Premier League games.

Almiron was terrible today he didn't really offer anything. I felt for Sanusi, you could see he wanted to make an impact but Bromley clearly didn't want to get embarrassed, so made his life difficult when he got the ball. Good confidence boost for a few of them tho

Yes I was going to say this. It's the only position we are really fragile with. If Isak gets injured any hopes of the season would probably go with him... we have to manage his minutes at every occasion. Osula is one for next year.

I really think Dubravka is a player who needs to be loved and needed. He's took a load of criticism and made some bad decisions but nobody can question his ability. Remember, the lad basically kept us up under Rafa.

Over the moon for lewis miley scoring a scorcher today. I know he's still so young but i feel he should have had more involvement this season after the impact he made last season. He's not going to be starting in from of bruno, sandro & big jo but i did think he'd feature off the bench more than he has. Injuries & recovery aside of course but i'm sure he'll have enjoyed that in front of a packed st, james' today. Nice one keith, cheers as always.

Dubs has shown his worth these last few months. He's more stable at the back than Pope, for me. He should keep his place in the team. Longstaff was garbage, he wouldn't have gotting into that Bromley team! Time to get rid of him, he's not up to the level we need. And Barnes needs to put his big-boy pants on and buck up.
