@@charlotterobson7015 I have defended him for weeks now thinkinghe was being unfairly treated but this performance was utterly devoid of merit - awful. It would be best for him now too if he decided to leave. Sad to lose a local player but he simply is not good enough for our levels.

@@charlotterobson7015 nah. He was fine. What exactly was he not doing or doing wrong? It was a low block and he had to manage that, same as everyone else. I knew we’d get the anti Longstaff mob all excited again. Tell me what he did wrong in the position he was playing in? Also, tell me how he was worse than anyone else to warrant being so much of a “disaster”?

@@geordiedog1749 what exactly did he do right? So poor in the final third, always looks clueless on the ball. Against league 2 opposition as well and he could barely hold his own. I get he is tactically very good and can do a job defensively but going forward he is massively lacking.

Job done and Birmingham away in the next round is pretty decent. Great goal for Osula is a big plus although I still doubt he'll feature much this season unless both Isak and Gordon get injured.

Really glad to see Miley getting a full 90 and 100% making the most of it. He looked a little wobbly at the start but by the end he was totally running the show. Also think it's massive for Osula breaking his duck, and hopefully he can start picking up league minutes to take the strain off of Isak. Last shout out for me goes to Targett though, because I thought he was great tonight. Was always an option on the overlap and did well to win the penalty. Also had to work doubly hard because Barnes was honking, but I'll try and keep this positive!

I know Targett is getting some plaudits, but you notice how much value there is with Lewis Hall and his wrap around runs. Must have watched gordon dance around with the the ball two or three times with no options to pass when target is standing stationary in a back 4 with a huge space in front just begging for him to run into and provide an option for gordon.

So, Miley just did a post match presser and I try to imagine myself at 18 being so mature and intelligent and humble. Secondly, he’s still a bairn in a bairn body. Once he matures physically he’s going to be a u it as well as a maestro midfielder. He’s clearly being set up to understudy Tonali (who is not a #6 by the way) which is so cool. I mean, what better education could you get. Osula scores a corker! He’s so dying to be a hero at the Toon. He’s a good way off but I think the raw material is there and we know Eddie is going to make him The best he can be. Bring on the brummies.

Longstaff and Miggy's time is done. Miley and Osula both young players with great potential. Kelly and Barnes useful squad players but a clear dropoff from the first teamers. Targett and Trippier nothing wrong with them but both on big contracts probably towards the end of their time at Newcastle as well.

It's important to buzz off the win but some of those players really underperformed today. Barnes absolutely shocking & Longstaff (I know Si will never criticise him 😂) was miles off it. Not a good look when the lad who's after your squad space is head & shoulders above you & was MOTM.
