I can agree, this is very accurate logical reasoning. I thought the same thing, the community are forgetting that this game is free, if the product is free then you are the product. They neglect the fact that this is a company not just a game. They want your money, then when they release them when you have no v-bucks. Moreover no one talks about the bad item shops previously because they’re hyped about the good one’s and don’t care about the bad shops anymore. This way they can deceive the community and act like the hero’s. Clearly, this is manipulation for their own benefit.

I personally think Travis will return, mostly cuz of the massive bag fortnite will get if the release it again. It has nothing to do with the Astro World incident cuz Travis talks about his success with astro world frequently. I believe its just building up so that even players who don't even fw travis scott will want the skin, maximizing the profits. They did it with Black Widow who wasn't even a good skin, but the hype surrounding it was so great people wanted it cuz it had been so long. It's a marketing tactic and the fact Tim Sweeney even spoke about it means he 100% understands the massive bag brining back the skin will bring, even if he's not in the item shop loop

What people don't realize is that just because the skin isn't blacklisted doesn't mean it's going to come back. It also doesn't mean, especially in the case of a collaboration that they will be able to come to an arrangement with the said artist a second time. Additionally, Tim Sweeney didn't talk about Travis Scott he simply responded to a question as to whether or not he was blacklisted, he simply said he was "welcome back in Fortnite" which isn't an indicator of anything. It's simply a nice way of answering a question, which he immediately continued by making abundantly clear, so that no one would take this as confirmation he was returning (which people did, sadly), that he has absolutely no say in what skins come to the item shop, he is not involved in that process nor does he have any specific information as to when or if any skins are coming to the item shop. Whether or not it's profitable or not it is profitable doesn't mean the artist is going to work with epic even if they asked him to. Travis Scott, even though cleared of criminal charges, was in fact still held to civil charges by the families of the victims. Now this may not affect brands and they're willingness to work with him, but AstroWorld and his previous behavior that was ignored by epic when they collaborated with him the first time, does make him a brand risk, just saying. Don't get your hopes up. I'll never understand why every video about the item shop has to turn into a call for Travis Scott to return. There are so many other skins in the game, get over him and move on

Epic knows you have favorite skins. If they release them often, then you will know they come often and just wait until the skin shows up, and then you won't buy as much. If they don't release them on the shop, they hope you get inpatient and buy a skin that isn't the one you want. That way, you will buy more skins, because if the skin you want takes so long, you will feel tempted to spend your V-Bucks. Not buying stuff when you can buy it takes a lot of self-control. Epic just takes advantage of that. They have people studying the market who know how to make you spend money. And you all think you can outsmart that, which is kinda funny.

I don't know if I agree 100% about the reason that the item shop has been the way that it has, considering previous years at this time of year the item shops were pretty decent. In fact January to March of last year was some of the best item shops of the year in my opinion. But I do see the logic and what you're saying and from a business marketing standpoint it does make sense.

Summary: They make the shops bad on purpose to increase the levels of FOMO within the playerbase, tricking everyone into buying vbucks for the day that something good actually comes to the shop. It’s been this way for awhile and it probably won’t change until the whole community ultimately decides to boycott the game altogether (which I doubt will happen any time soon).

I'm not sure, I joined in June last year and the shop has already gotten so repetitive it's annoying. I'm checking daily for Master Chief and like every other week it's Star Wars/Marvel, then a bunch of anime stuff, then Rick and Morty or Futurama, then it's the Weeknd nonstop for 3 months. What's funny about this post that was made on Twitter/X originally talking about the asset files that were updated "recently" that sparked this new wave of claims and assumption that Travis Scott would be returning. The fact of the matter is those acid files were updated a year ago, just for some weird reason someone decided to post the news of this on Twitter/X in December. and every content creator around the globe ran with this as proof positive that these items were returning. If you notice, the legit leakers aren't talking about these items returning, because they know when the files were really updated (if anyone doesn't believe this, just ask a legit leaker like Fortnite soul for instance and he'll back this up 100%)
