Ironic, since Fortnite has possibly the best battle pass of any game. The fact that after buying one pass, you can buy all the subsequent passes is incredible. It’s extremely sad to me however since I bought my first pass in c4s3 and I missed out of so many collabs. I still wish Laura Croft would come back sometime but it’s probably not happening ;-;

personally, the spider-man remixes mean NOTHING to me, the MCU spider-man not only is different in terms of design and history, but I always really wanted the symbiote spider-man and we never got a skin for him as a remix

I've always thought that they could easily make old Battlepasses purchaseable (or at least individual items from said passes) for what they would be worth in the item shop for that rarity/item. Then to keep collectors happy they could release an edit style for each skin (It could be a basic colour swap for each skin, it wouldn't have to be much.). That way, OG players still feel satisfied with owning something rare, new players can play as old skins, the FOMO still exists for something rare and Epic makes more money for the hiked-up Item Shop prices.

I didn’t buy season 2 bp, and there’s a certain back bling in ch2 season something I wanted so that kinda sucks but I have almost every rare item in the game

Hypothetically, if the Fortnite devs were to make OG Fortnite a gamemode, they can have it so you can buy previous passes from the item shop to complete them (they don't get rotated out), or if you already purchased a particular pass in the past, you can continue it. You could also buy the pass again, considering they would have to remix the skins and styles so players who already owned that skin don't get mad because of the influx of new players with that same skin, the newer versions can be an edit style for players who already own that skin.

I think they should add a feature that if you used to have an old battlepass, you could do some challenges to get more xp to finish them. I think an alternative route would be to just release alternate styles for the original owners, like with skull trooper.

Based comment, they probably won’t because of FOMO getting players that buy the battle pass to play more to finish it, but it would be so cool to be able to unlock stuff from passes you bought or even just be able to finish challenges to get styles, like they did with Drift and other ch. 1 BP skins that let you unlock styles by getting XP even after the season was over

I really feel like the only real way to fix the problem is to make all Battle Passes available forever with no expiration date to buy or finish them by, this means items would still be Battle Pass exclusive without being broken up for individual sale in the Item Shop yet would still be available to unlock after the season or chapter ends.

I think when fortnite made battle passes exclusive they wanted it to show how long a player has been playing for. For instance I played the game during chapter 1 I now have a battle pass to show how long I’ve been playing. However I completely agree with you because there has been times in my life where I was really poor and unable to buy certain passes that I wanted.

If people are worried about styles to skins like the Golden Peely example Epic could just make challenges for those extra styles last forever but continue on with new seasons. So even though there’s a new season you can still work for that variant of Peely you want.

Finally, someone said it. I'm 100% in favour of people being given challenges to unlock extra/super styles. I have every single super style in every BP I've ever unlocked, and I wouldn't mind others being given the opportunity to unlock them as well. The fact that I got these BPs at a massive discount and at the earliest possible time is already a great compensation.

Make all battle passes permanent - Like Halo Infinite. Players who bought the pass during the time it was released should get an extra exclusive style (super levels + bonus rewards should be still unlockable) The battlepasses should remain at 950 V-Bucks, and you should be able to select which pass you want to continue.

I remember in season five, if you didn’t finish unlocking styles, you could unlock them in the next season. I think Fortnite should bring back this so I can finish some of the styles I missed out on someone of the skins I have like ultima knight

A lot of people are talking about the collabs, which honestly I totally agree should not be exclusive, but also as a lore fan it KILLS me that there are so many super important lore characters locked behind the battle pass. I really think Epic should just make old battle passes available and allow you to grind them, maybe giving original owners of the pass exclusive reskins like what they did with the purple skull trooper. The OG playerbase who cares about flexing their rare skins is steadily getting replaced by new players who are being punished for not being able to play in the past, and I don't think it's good for a game's longevity to be punishing the new playerbase who is coming in to replace the old. Nowadays if anyone new wants to play as their favorite character, lore or collab, and that character was in an old pass, they need to buy an account with those exclusive skins on it. Account buying is of course against Epic's TOS, but this exclusivity policy encourages that market to exist. :/

Yep they need to turn OG returning into a yearly event where a past map comes back and you can purchase an old battle pass to complete. That or they should allow skin trading. Their current stance encourages people to buy accounts, you might as well let people trade so I can pay someone to trade me Lara Croft 😂(a little bit satire, but they need to address this somehow, cause new players shouldn’t be pushed like this.)

If im being honest epic basically wasted their marvel contract by making a marvel season and a spiderman season. And theyre in a sort of silent panic because a few days ago the item shop just kept being random characters with most being characters that nobody knows about or even remembers like rouge and gambit or silver surfer. I think it wouldve been better to sell those iconic superheroes as their own bundles so you can individually pick out your favorite hero while epic gets more money since they would most likely be worth more than 950 (aka standard battlepass price)

Be nice to see more variety in the actual gameplay and people buying aren’t going to get the deal I got on them by having the BP back then. I personally only recently started playing fortnite... so ive missed out on literally everything (including the actual story of the game up to chapter 5) ... however... after playing halo infinite i have noticed something that could help with the issue of battlepasses.... halo infinites seasonal content is always active.... so if you wanted something from season one all youd have to do is activate season ones pass and do stuff to unlock it.... Fortnite could do something like that in turn... releasing all old battlepasses (of course having to purchase each and every pass fully to get all rewards (devs gotta get the money somehow)) ... it would allow newer players to get old crossover skins (like deadpool and iron man etc etc...) there is another idea that was mentioned in the video too.... where the devs could just put a reskin in the store... it could be a monthly rotation of every battlepass skin (both crossover and non crossover skins) but they would be different colors... example was spiderman... they could just do that too.... for those who missed out... both of these ideas could technically work as the first idea has worked so far for halo... why wont it work for Fortnite?.... and idea two would work as a inbetween... it wont be THE skin... but itll be a variant of it... If they bring back a Battlepass skin from like 3 years ago or something then it can still be seen as early access to the item and most people still have to pay for it now since they'd need vbucks. Having a videogame item disappear forever knowing very well many of those items are not used or owned by many players now is just a ridiculous idea. None of the people gatekeeping it care they "supported" the game because otherwise they would want the items back now knowing the game will make money from them. It's literally just the silly reason of your account losing value despite that not mattering at all. idk if it's been mentioned, but the Halo: Infinite model seems to be the best I've seen. Once you buy the battle pass you own it forever, you can switch between which season pass you want to progress and earn the rewards in your own time. I've never felt cheated by buying a Halo season pass

I agree but that's the exact problem, imagine just now getting into the game cause of the new “meta verse” and then you see Over 20 battlepasses that are completely unattainable with some of your favorite character from a movie or franchise. It just doesn't make sense to me why fortnite decided to gatekeep hell they could've released renegade raider and even had given og’s the checker style but instead they just didn't release it. But it's fortnite loss at the end of the day, players will continue to lose interest when they release they are gatekept out of cosmetics so we will have to wait and see for what epic decides to do.

I feel like Epic Games should just rerun battle passes such as the crossovers where they had Thor, or even Deadpool. I'm sure there's a lot of new players that wish they could've unlocked those skins cause they want their favorite superhero, or whatever. I think it sucks that they got locked behind a limited time pass honestly, something they should do is allow the battle passes to be unlocked with as much time to unlock them as possible. A great example of this is what Super Animal Royale is doing with their passes. You have all the time in the world to unlock the tiers, and you can even unlock old passes they did back then to do if you want to get old cosmetics, hardly anything's exclusive there. I'm sure it'd make a lot of the people who actually put blood sweat and tears into unlocking those skins to begin with, but there's nothing you can do about that, you can't make everyone happy sadly. I'm still upset I didn't play during the Deadpool season, and even the Raven season that took place before I started playing which was the Rick season.

My opinion and an option that I think would make most people happy on every side of the debate. Allow previous battle passes to be purchased but you still have to earn the battle stars and unlock things as you go or purchase tiers like the current battle pass but keep the super styles locked to the og players. OG’s have something unique but new players can at least get the basic outfits to use.

Does Spider-Man’s Symbiote style count as a super style? Because I would hate not being able to use that. Plus, I missed out on basically all the Marvel event stuff so this would be annoying for me personally if I couldn’t use the Symbiote Style for Spider-Man. Edit: I just realized, the super styles are those bonus styles in the bonus section of the battle passes, right? Because I wouldn’t mind not being able to use, for example, time breaker Renegade Lynx or something.

selling/letting us complete old battle passes would: -be healthy for the community -it would drop the amount of account selling drastically -OG's would get to keep their cosmetics -the predatory business practice of FOMO would be eliminated -people can play as their favorite fortnite/collab characters -it gives more wiggle room for those who can't play the game 24/7 -gives the game more replay ability (if you have to grind to get the rewards) anyone who disagrees just likes to gatekeep skins that they rarely use. people should stop being selfish and let others enjoy cosmetics.

Heres my thought tho... you werent around then. Its a limited time thing as a prize for playing around that time. So for them to turn around and just re-release battle passes without telling us ahead of time would be detrimental to the trust epic has earned with the player base. But they will never just re-release something people paid for and grinded for. Its like a participation trophy. Since OG was such a hit they need to turn it into a yearly thing. Imagine OG comes back once a year, and each year it’s a different map from a past season, and you get to purchase an old battle pass to complete during that mini season. Epic can get a break to continue to work on new stuff and new players get a chance to earn old stuff they missed out on, it’s a win/win. I can’t imagine how many players would return if they did something like this.

They should take it back to when you got the skin, the selectable styles became a seperate quest line that would reward the styles based on levels since unlocking. I remember it being about halfway through the season after Drift and I'd finally leveled up enough for the final bonus style. Pretty soon after that they locked style rewards to that season only, as part of the pass. Especially with brining these other passes into the mix it's pretty ridiculous to expect us to get to level 200 every season, and complete the festival pass, and get to unreal rank in rocket racing for all the rewards. I can only imagine what other rewards they'll want us to grind for once ranked festival comes out and the unlikely scenario they add a pass to lego. Talk about time management sheesh

I hopped back into Fortnite briefly when the Loki Fortnite crew dropped. I came back into the fold heavy when Fortnite no build came about cause that’s all I ever wanted from OG Fortnite hated the building aspect (multiple people I know did too and they lost people that way) It 100% sucks that I can’t get Deadpool either or Aquaman, OG Spiderman, Wolverine etc. the collabs are a strong focal point of the game and if you take that away from everybody they will and im pretty sure have lost out on even more money. I think they could allow players to choose a legacy battle pass to grind after reaching level 200 in the current battle pass. So, if you maxed out a current battle pass additional levels could go towards a legacy battle pass of your choice. Or perhaps every level passed 200 would award you special stars you could use exclusively on vaulted skins. I'm thinking every level passed 200 would provide a vaulted star so if you saved them you could redeem 100 of this proposed currency for a level 100 outfit from an old battle pass. This would simultaneously provide increased engagement while still maintaining the exclusivity of these older crossover skins by requiring dedicated play and limited access. It would be important that they didn't sell this exclusive currency for v-bucks but they could perhaps offer 5-10 a month for crew pass members.

Especially for newer players. Veteran players with all battle pass skins could convert their vaulted stars into v-bucks at a fair exchange rate and spend them in the shop. Perhaps a 100 vaulted stars would be worth like 500 - 1000 v bucks and you could only exchange them if you had at least 100. This would reward dedicated players with more in game currency without cheapening that currency by making it a one way exchange. Considering you earn levels in Lego, festival, and rocket racing it could make those modes more appealing to primarily battle royale players.

I agree with this a lot, I started playing fortnite in c2 s1, I wanted the mandalorian so bad, plus the next season and all the marvel skins, put sadly I was too young as a young teen I was not allowed to buy the battle pass. So I had to see exclusive skins like this come and go at the tip of my fingers, and all that was separating me and my favorite moments is just $10. I begged my parents to just buy the battlepass for me just once since I already knew you get your money back. But yet they still said no and that makes the pain even worse. I personally think they shouldn't add any more battle passes since the current one is already overwhelming as is plus the bonus rewards that require you to play 2x more since the bonus is another 100 lvls (did the math). Just imagine if Lego or rocket racing had a battlepass. Just thinking about it is enough to make one insane. I even remember moments like "OMG the mandalorian is here!" and getting sniped out of the sky. And Deadpool with his own ship and his twin pistols. Now I convinced my dad to play and now he is mad that he can't get Mando. The situation is only gonna get worse.

This will help epic make a profit and give the company a reason to bring back og maps and not exhaust their creativity with stupid reskins/remixes and can focus on the latest season separate from the legacy season og map.

I wish they would set up a second shop that would bring in old battlepass skins, wraps, etc that would rotate out like the normal shop everyday and stick in new stuff. That way, people can buy the things they actually want instead of having to buy a whole pass. A example of that would be if say a player is trying to collect all of the Seven, but don't want the other skins that came in those passes? That player then can just go to that shop and then wait for each member of the Seven to appear and buy them.

Halo and fortnite are completely different. In halo you get a different colored visor or shoulder pad and in fortnite you get skins that have different variants. As a streamer, Initially, during the early stages of the game, I bought the battle pass but found myself mostly playing Save the World. It was enjoyable, but it meant that I couldn't devote time to both modes. Consequently, for several seasons, despite purchasing the battle pass, I couldn't complete it to level 100. This was frustrating, particularly since I was still actively engaged in the game. Now, although things have changed, looking back, I feel somewhat misled. Additionally, considering EPIC's policy against selling accounts, I wonder why possessing old skins is such a big deal. (yes I know why) Perhaps they could introduce a feature like "OG Season Rewinds". In this, players could revisit old seasons - if you already purchased the battle pass for that season, you could continue to unlock items; if not, you'd have the option to buy it and then unlock items. Those who completed everything could unlock additional skins. As someone who paid for early access and has been with them since the beginning, it's disappointing to see the shift away from what initially made the game great.

I think the MAIN problem with allowing people to cintinue to unlock tiers from previos battlepasses is with the Weekly quest, How would those be bunched up? sometimes there are Season/Chapter specific quests you have to do, not to mention that you lose ALL your levels whenever a new season drops! so its deffinetly a confusing task

Halo lets you equip battle passes, and the access is permanent. You simply equip the battle pass and all xp from then on goes to the pass you equip, until you change it

so the Fortnite API actually saves every level you have ever gotten, for every season, its all listed right where epic can see it, the issue, would be quests themselves, so make it a limited number of levels passed whatever the max level is that season, maybe only 50 levels worth of rewards after every legacy pass item you have access to, maybe limit those to people who at least played that season to get a chance to spend real money to obtain it, or if you do own that battle pass, just dissallowing the use of spending Vbucks, instead make it a real money purchase

TBH, they should make it like the cosmicubes in among us, you can still buy it at a later date, but like you said, only the bonus rewards stay exclusive.

I am an og, i used to play all the time between 2017-2020 before quitting in early 2020 due to personal reasons. i missed out on almost 4 years worth if battle pass skins (some include my fav skins like eren, lorenzo, spiderman etc) and it kinda sucks tbh. i dont have it as bad, as i still have og battlepass skins, so i cant imagine how left out some new players must feel. the best way I think would to be release exclusive styles only for those who originally got the BP and then release the normal skin versions. if not for all skins, at least for collab skins.

My personal opinion: I would make the fortnite shop an everything shop. There you would buy specific skins, bundles, passes, pickaxes, you name it. Every cosmetic in the game. This would fix any time pressure you have to complete passes and it would fix how people can't get certain items because they are locked behind a time barrier. I know half of the community would hate this and say that people shouldn't have access to everything, but the other half would be pleased as like you mentioned, maybe they missed out on a cosmetic because you couldn't play. It defeats the purpose of the featured shop however fortnite is already doing this with the festival and rocket racing sections of the shop, now they just need to extend it to include all items.

Battle Passes are meant to be exclusive and on a timer, this pressures people to buy them so Epic can make money. What if you went through the stress of a whole battle pass just for epic to re-release it, you would feel like you wasted time. I think the best system would to have skin exclusive quests, like Omega: to earn his lights you should be able to have infinite time to do so, but the battle pass as a whole would exipire whenever and proceed with the seasons

I always being and will be against collabs in the BP, they don't need it is pure greed. I had to explain new players why they cannot have the fav characters (Vader, Mando and Superman) and it is pretty sad.

its not only the collab skins in the bp its all the skins in the bp. i started 2022 and when i looked at the old bp there were so many good skins with the feeling i probably will never get them in my locker

As simple as allow us to buy old battle passes to full price as bundles or a extra grindy systems with another in game currency obtainable with achievements or quest to get those rewards, still we wbill be paying for original and collab shop skins. About golden/corrupted skins, we definitely deserve some type of veteran reward system with tha things unlocked. I’m still suffering every night having season X battle pass finished with Eternal Voyager but didn’t unlocked skull style without helmet, ats very frustrating not being able to play in full style my favourite skin, it could have been an exp requisite like Hybrid/Ice King styles when chapter 2 launched.

This is such an easy problem to fix, and it would probably make Epic Games SHITLOADS of money. Just let people go back and buy older Battle Passes. So you can grind out the main Seasonal Pass, and then on the side you can have an older Battle Pass to slowly chip away at. If they wanna keep up the exigency of players still grinding the Battle Pass every day, just add special rewards that people would actually want that are only available while the Season is still active. It'll get a MASSIVE boost in player time for atleast a few months, players can go back and get any skins they missed out on, and Epic Games makes tons of money. They should atleast experiment with this idea for a few months
