Gotta call BS on this one. They were tortured beyond endurance and would admit to anything to get their tormentors to stop. Jacque DeMolay was tortured and starved so severely that the townspeople were horrified and angered when they saw him on the way to his execution. The Templars had become too rich and powerful in the eyes of the Pope and he coveted their wealth. They were arrested on Friday Oct 13, 1307 in France, tortured, held captive for 2 years and then burned at the stake if still alive. That's where we get Friday the 13th being unlucky. The rest of the Templars who were able to escape fled to Scotland.

Fun fact, the Templars had a huge Naval fleet and when they fled, the Templar Navy became the pirates people love to glorify.
