ive seen three possible theories for who the clone assassin may be: 1) Tech reborn 2) Cody 3) a clone of Crosshair i think tech reborn is the less likely, seeing as Crosshair said they tried brainwashing him and it failed because he's a defective clone, so that means that the brainwashing should be ineffective on Tech as well.

Hemlock got his goggles which means he found tech or his remains and grabbed it, the goggles were surprisingly intact for someone falling and possibly hit by debris and his goggles are under his helmet so if the goggles are mostly unharmed then what about the helmet or the other armour parts? Something else that could hint towards tech as a assassin is the trailer we see the empire lane on pabu with that clone assassin in the middle of the shot, it’s said that the planet is very hidden away and secretive the only outsiders that know of it that we know are the bad batch and Rex so if tech was captured then brainwashed the planets location would be revealed thus the invasion we see in the trailer

The way the shadow clone talked definitely made me think more of Crosshair. I'm guessing when they couldn't get the real deal they cloned him asap. There were a lot of little hints in episode 7 that made me think that, with the shadow unit's marksmanship, using techniques in the spire that crosshair replicated immediately after like looking for light from inside the shaft, and don't forget, Crosshair is also pretty skinny and has the same helmet sight. I'm also not sure that tech or a clone of him would be near as good at being a sniper. It would make more sense as to why the other shadow clone recognized crosshair and reacted to him when he got into the room. With all the blood they've been extracting from the clone prisoners, they easily could have had their pick of who to clone at any point. With the episode quality so far this season, I'm honestly pumped for whatever the outcome is.

Think it's Cody personally. Sure, he has a voice modulator, but underneath it you can sort of hear a more gravelly version of the standard clone voice rather than Tech's more British accent. It would also give a bit of closure on what happened to Cody after his sudden disappearance in season 2.

Armand Isard is a pretty fascinating and underrated villain. He not only he appeared in OT material, but also at the beginning of the "Millenium Falcon" novel as the Head of Republic Intelligence, trying to stop during the events of Episode III the smugglers who owned at that time the Falcon

What is damn unfortunate is the fact that in legends Armand Isard had a daughter, who was far far more evil than he would ever be. But there is no sign of her in canon so far… which might be the result of Kathleen Kennedy being a girlboss since she’s probably opposed to the idea of there being a female main antagonist for anything.

There's a lot done well in just two episodes. It lays down early hints of the rebel alliance, has a lot of character interaction that suits them well, and kept me engaged a the whole time where a lot of recent stuff doesn't. I'm not sure how many noticed, but Crosshair has also shifted a bit in personality. He's gotten a lot more protective of Omega now. It wouldn't be a surprise if the operative was Tech, as he seems to have a personal hatred of them, and there are subtle hints that he knows a little more than he said.

Maybe it's Tech, maybe it's just a regular brainwashed clone. I can say, that when CX1 was fighting Crossy hand x hand + when he whipped out that vibroblade, CX1 started spewing Cody vibes, at least for me. His fighting style/execution kept reminding me of Cody ~ especially in TBB s2ep3 when he & Crosshair went to Desix. The tower's spiral staircase fight scene with the commando droids, something about CX1's movements brought me back to Cody's fight scenes. But until he's caught & his helmet is removed, we're all just speculating.

Didn't have any theories about the mystery shadow trooper up until the waterfall fight, the ST says "You had your chance to be one of us" and I instantly though that sounded like it was supposed to imply that Crosshair had the chance to be a Shadow, but after they reveal that its Tech it reads as Crosshair had his chance to be part of the Bad Batch

Only problem with that is both the 2nd captured operative and the 3rd assassin said the sane thing. The unmasked operative was a reg that pointed suspicion at crosshair before he was eliminated which nearly caused howzer to draw his sidearm. The 3rd said it while drowning crosshair. They are probably just from the same batch of prisoners integrated into the program

I think the more likely theory of the one's proposed is that the shadow operative is a clone of crosshair like the scope coming down over his eye is just like what crosshair does, he's just as effective as a sharpshooter, and he also has a habit of defying orders from superiors like commander wolffe. his armor bears just as much if not more resemblance to crosshair's than it does tech's so acting like it's confirmed to be tech seems a bit premature

The way the Shadow jumped down the tunnel, hold on to the wall dozens of meters below and still survived was unnecessary and unrealistic. The Rest of the Episodes were great tho. The Visuals especially. And the ships look good two. 👍

Honestly I'm glad TBB has been getting as much hype and positive reception as it has. I know practically everything "Disney Star Wars" has been hated to hell and back, but, I actually really like Clone Force 99. The Clone Rebellion has offically begun with this battle, before it was just skirmishs, but now it's full-blown war. It looks like Wolffe is like Cody was back in season 2 episode 3 he's trying to still fight for what's right but the Empire isn't like the Republic, it has none of the good and restraint, so he will soon be forced to defect with his Pack and join Rex's side, which is good as they need more troops since they just lost a lot this episode, including Nemec and Fireball, I was so sure one of them would survive since I thought it was to obviouse to make Howizer the only survivor of the new Clones introduced in this series after the battle at Tantius which will pressuambly be the finale. Guess I bet the wrong Tonton in that race. That's 2000 credits I'm not getting back. lol.

I might be crazy but he use the same rifle as Crosshair, the 773 Firepuncher. Crosshair is unable to land a shot since he escaped Tantiss. I think clone X could be a clone of Crosshair or it is the real Crosshair and the one who escaped with Omega is a clone of the real one and he is spying on the bad batch.

I'd say these shadow operatives are fairly distinct from the shadow troopers even if there are similarities. The main gimmick of shadow troopers is their invisibility thing, which these operatives don't have. Furthermore, these operatives have only been used by Hemlock and Rampart whose organisations are not intelligence groups, unlike shadow troopers who served Isard and the II/MI. Whilst this can be explained out of universe as the show writers not being good at world building, there is absolutely no information that would allow us to link these operatives to Republic/Imperial Intelligence based on the information they have given us. Honestly, the wider problem is that Imperial Intelligence has been more or less ignored in Canon media aside from the Tarkin novel, which TBB has already contradicted pretty heavily in terms of the structure of the Galaxy in the early Imperial era. The go-to organisation that canon writers like to use is of course the ISB, COMPNOR's secret police and II/MI's rival but the ISB has absolutely nothing to do with the story in TBB. Not only that but *Canon writers have decided to change Imperial Intelligence's role.* Rather than being a proper rival to ISB like it is in the EU, *MI is instead entirely focused on military intelligence only according to Disney,* which is complete nonsense.

For me, if that secret operative was someone we knew, I would prefer that it was Cody. That Rampart captured him after he went AWOL in Season 2 and Hemlock indoctrinated him back into the Empire's ranks. Having to fight, or maybe even kill, one of his best friends from the war can be something that will in the end force Rex into abandoning the rebellion and hide, as we saw him in Rebels

I’m doubtful that these are Clone Shadow Troopers. The Wookiepedia uses multiple names like X’s and Clone Assassins. I think this is purely Hemlock’s project and has nothing to do with Armand Isard. I do wonder if this is going to lead to the return of Edmon Rampart from Imperial prison. The first Clone X might have been a prototype and Hemlock might have had a personal alliance with him. Speaking of returning villains, I wonder if Cid and the last Elite Trooper will return as well.
