Vaping is not completely safe but its 95% safer than smoking cigarettes! Steve is right that its completely nuts to not recognize the benefits of getting people to drop cigs

The 95% figure was invented by a fairly suspect review paper - that included quite poor reasoning for that figure. Most experts agree vaping is 'better', but it's quite likely that that's just because there's not enough research on it. The issue of vaping is beyond getting people off cigarettes, which is good, it's funneling young people into vaping, which is bad. Unfortunately vaping has undone a fair amount of wonderful work in the last 30 years of getting people off these meaningless and hideously damaging addictive drugs.

@@iamsofaking6786 THE 95% figure comes from the Royal College of Physicians , the top UK health professionals - who released the first report linking smoking to cancer and other health issues in the 60’s. Royal College of Physicians have carried out extensive studies and concluded that vaping is at least 95% healthier than smoking.

Socialism is; "a theory which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole." ie: all businesses must be state-run and the profits shared among the people of the state. You are missing what socialism is as a consept just like he is. Hes using it as "the big bad government" overreaching, but somehow using a country with fully socialised healthcare as an example of why his own "creeping socialist " country is wrong.

How is vaping different than smoking?

I know little to nothing on the topic, but I’ve seen lungs and filters from vaping vs smoking. The vaping ones were normal looking, the smoking was straight black. When a smoker switches to vaping, their lungs lose a lot of the tar/black look, in a matter of months

There is no combustion with vaping and so it doesn't produce smoke. It's like the difference between inhaling steam from a pot of boiling water or a humidifier vs inhaling smoke from a campfire.

I smoked a pack or two a day for 35 years, switched to vaping about 10 years ago. Within a few short months, I stopped coughing and hacking, and could breathe, smell and taste better. The inside of my car windows don't get oily, my clothes don't stink, my walls don't turn yellow, no more nasty ashtrays laying around...the list goes on. If that makes me fruity, then so be it. I'll give you three guesses as to what your comment makes you, but the first two don't count...
