I get your concerns I have them too, but I do think at the very least some form of accountability at the top has to be addressed by Oda, to me that would be a series ruining oversight if he didn't. Even if the Reverie and Navy continue, a "Five Elders" probably shouldn't continue. Not one with true authority over the other kingdoms.

That's kind of my point, if the big climax comes from establishing a new government it kind of feels like an uphill battle to create a truly satisfying ending

@@ShutUpDenny I think the big climax comes from Luffy defeating blackbeard, defeating akainu, defeating imu, all of the one piece mysteries being revealed, learning about the void century etc etc. i think those aspects would be really satisfying because it's the show paying off on everything they setup. Not entirely sure how the government will be handled but it wont be as satisfying as those things imo.

I don’t really think that an ending like this would really be unsatisfying, it would simply be part of the romanticism. If One Piece were more like GOT, which portrays itself as gritty and realistic, then I could see this being a problem. I think the real central message of all the arcs that you mentioned is to display the idea that an unjust government is one which rules without the consent of the governed. And if you subscribe to the idea that marijois and the red line will be destroyed by the end of the series, I could see new world government being constructed in its place, but now, rather than high above the rest of humanity, they are at the same level, showing that they are now truly a government for the people. Personally I just don’t think there is any reason why if the endings to the aforementioned Alabasta, Dressrosa and Wano, were satisfying, a similar ending to the series as a whole couldn’t also be satisfying.

Tbh I have the exact same concern but there are two specific moments that give me a little hope. The first is in alabasta, where Cobra allows the palace to be invaded by the rebels and refuses to fight back against them, saying that the palace isn't alabasta, the people are. Now it's entirely possible oda meant this in a completely literal way of cobra being a good king and refusing to fire on his people but destroying a palace is a very blatant symbol for tearing down a government system (hence why the revolutionaries even targeted it). These sort of symbolism clearly isn't lost on the one piece world considering burning a flag is synonymous with declaring war. This means that this scene could be interpreted as Cobra, at the very least being OPEN to the idea of tearing down an institution and rebuilding it if the people feel it has failed them and even if that ended up not being necessary it shows that oda considers this willingness to completely restructure a good quality in a leader The other moment involves king Riku, when he is called out for his "pacifism" not being able to save the people he acknowledges his fault, says he will step down as king, but also states that a nation built on murder does not have the right to exist. This is a much MORE blatant example of a king arguing for a system that's failed it people to be completely torn down. I feel these two examples show that even if these arcs ended with the reinstitution of their monarchs and the "bad actors" being thwarted, the possibility that the system is at fault and might need restructuring isn't lost on either of these kings. Oda might just not have faith in himself in presenting the "solution"

Pretty amazing to think it in this way! But I think we can make a different argument with the same evidence on to where does the history is going. When the rev army commanders were introduced we saw that they do not go and fight to remove the influence of celestial dragons but instead Bello Betty gives the people that impulse of courage to fight back and Karasu takes out the weapons of their enemies. I think the end will not be just to re-throne the ex good ruler, but to use Luffy and his capacity to do "miracles" to inspire the whole world to regain the courage and strengh they need to the current rules by themselfs! This being the called "...to put the world upsidedown!..." That the narrator has been telling. Showing that the will of the people is stronger than any. The revolutionary army would help luffy to fulfill his duty as joyboy, and we have seen the mugiwaras and other people refer to luffy as someone who does the impossible who does miracles. That miracle to inspire people in order ro save them and to cure the disease (that is the world gov) is the same tale of the dr Hiruluk, and at the same time when the dr Kureja is saying goodbye to chopper (when we see the sakuras) is when the will of D is first mentioned. So does makes some sense

With her entire potential unleashed and her mastery of the Kaio-Ken, she'd be more than capable to enter the Tournament of Power. What do you think of Chi-Chi training with Krillin, Tien, Yamcha and Chiaotzu for the year, while Piccolo trains Gohan? While Goku recovers in the hospital, Chi-Chi goes to Korin to drink the ultra divine water and has Goku train her in the Kaio-Ken during their trip to Namek - where she eventually has her hidden powers unlocked by Grand Elder Guru. But she doesn't have her latent abilities brought out by Old Kai until the Tournament of Power saga. Chi-Chi would also train with Goku and Gohan in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, because the Cell in this universe would also have her DNA (and have the ability to tap into the Kaio-Ken). Chi-Chi would even help Goten and Videl with their martial arts and ki training.

I once made a reddit and a short blog about the thematic hypocrasies in One Piece and brought this up... It was sort of like how I knew Daeny from GOT was going to turn because the entire series was her going around demanding what was "hers" or it's fire and blood for everyone, yet she was supposedly an agent of freedom. People like the Marines, but how can you serve an institution that serves tyrannical despots? How is Garp, Sengoku, or any of them good for working with the people that did things like blow up Ohara? At best you can just say they don't follow certain orders, but they still advance it's interests and hedge it's power and presence. But people keep making excuses because the like these characters. I also wondered where the ending was supposed to be going. Is Luffy going to create world peace by being the hyper-violent nuke with legs that he is? Then he's just leave the "good ruler" Vivi, Momo, or whatever, to rule in his place? Needless to say, One Piece fans don't take kindly to these questions. But that- and my inevitable fear that the One Piece cannot possibly be anything special and will be something mediocre- had me sort of half-in on the rest of One Piece. And the way Wano ended...unless my hope/theory is true and Big Mom and/or Kaido is definitely still alive and Big Mom just played the Straw Hats)
