Why The World’s Top Travel Brands Are Courting Indian Tourists | Forbes

India’s surging middle class is projected to spend as much as $144 billion a year on international travel by 2030. And hotels, airlines and cities are spending millions to land them.
Travel brands have begun heavily courting Indian tourists, often by tapping celebrities as influencers. Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan promotes Dubai and Katrina Kaif, a British actress who makes Hindi-language films, professes her loyalty to Accor. Actor Ranveer Singh appears in ads for Abu Dhabi, while his wife, Deepika Padukone, is the global brand ambassador of Qatar Airways. Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Olympic gold medalist and world champion in javelin, has been enlisted to promote Switzerland’s spectacular alpine landscapes.
With more than 1.4 billion people, India now has the world’s largest population and the fifth-largest economy. Outbound travel from India is growing much faster than from any other country, which has led to a flurry of predictions that have travel brands salivating.

Its high time to implement new tax system. Tax system based on Transaction in bank accounts (cash in cash out) I know so many people who showed losses in business yet travel to europe and east asian countries every alternate year 😂 People who pays individual tax in india are about 8 cr (80 million) approx. And not all 80 million people earn that much to afford foreign travel in every few years. Math in not matching... Out of these 80 million we have freshers with minimum pay, people who earn under 10LPA (which is not enough to afford foreign travel) if living in tier 1. In my CA articleship, I saw business owners/prasticing professionals showing zomato/swiggi bills which are totally personal and other personal expenses as "BUSINESS EXPENSE" And don't bring gst here ultimate burden pf gst is levied on consumers businesses get ITC (tax credit) they don't pay extra anything.

I have been to EU 7 times, everytime i have to apply for a visa it takes 2 months, and i am asked for my bank account statements, income tax returns, proof of employmet, and at least 15 more personal documents. UK even asks for proof that my parents own property in India. Its classic racism. All this when i am in the leadership of a major global company operating in India.

We indians are concerned about the bad human rights situations in the US. Racial crimes are rampant along with shootings. Indians while being the richest expatriate community in the US are not being protected, contributing 6% of all US tax collection while being 1% of the population. Still 9 Indian students died in the US this year alone. Bad fentanyl problem and homelessness in most cities makes US an unsafe destination. Most Indians are now feeling US is unsafe and look for better alternatives to travel if not within India itself. Also use the correct damn map of India.
