My next trip to Africa this is where I want to go. Most of our ancestors that were taken from Africa went through the door of no return. 😔

Lily whilst it’s true that some of our people participated in the evil trade. The people of Anlo prevented the Danish for over centuries until 1784 when they joined forces with several other nations including some of our own tribes to defeat us. It was as a result of devastating brutal war that the Anlos were forced to sign a treaty that allowed them to build that fort so it was really as you narrated. People were not always willing participants. You may read Letters on West Africa and the Slave Trade (1788) by Paul Erdmann Isert. It will tell you the events leading to the construction of that slave fort. Oh it’s my home town. My family home is only a walking distance from the fort.

Great video well done, but when you said it’s was illegal no it wasn’t, pop Nicholas 5 and the Catholic Churches ⛪️ given their blessing to John Hawkins who were a big Slave Marchant he had the ship 🚢 called Jesus of Lubeck from England so everyone had their fair share of our Ancestors who suffered dearly but black peoples will never learned 😭😢cause as today they still carry a white jesus in their leaving room sad 😔 😢

If I were you, I would rather study the complexity and the dynamics of the slave trade (captivity is a better word than slave trade) instead of trying to simply blame Africans.

@@LilyOgini Nobody said we are saints! Context is very important. Maybe, when you ge6t back to Accra, visit visit the underground tunnel where the locals in especially Jamestown were tricked into slavery, and also Elmina, chiefs who tried to stop the it, were subdied. I live in the US where the most imprtants statement (very offensive to African Americans) is, "it is not our fault, your ancestors sold you." Yes, some Africans were involved! All I said that context and complexity is very important! LOVE!

@@frankbediako1372I will never understand how a black man would live comfortably in a white man‘s country, and even invite his family members to join him over, but a black man can never sneeze freely in another black nation yet, you want me to think like the crowd. Sorry, my mind is open enough to understand that greed and hate was what lead to slave trade.
