We are kindred spirits sir, even though I am a stills shooter and don't use either my fpL or my S5ii for video. My first lens was the 28-70 DG DN which is pretty much welded to my fpL in the landscape. Ealier this year I also added the 70-200 DG DN Sports to the kit bag, and after a Sigma Photo Walk day in the city also added an iSeries 45mm prime. To complete my landscape "holy trinity" I've also got the 16-28 DG DN, but that is a focal length option that I don't reach for all that often. Oh, and in the landscape I'm mostly manual focus but do occasionally lean on the AF to help me out (e.g. tracking rolling waves or something like that).

Great video...... When I got my fpL the first lens I got was 65mm f2, love it, then got 85mm f1.4, 17mm f4, 28-70. Found these covered me for a while, then I added the Leica SL2 as it's L mount and no want to add a wider street and tossing up between 35 f2 and 45 f2.8......

After I started collecting the Lumix 1.8 primes I sold them all and changed to the Sigma 28-45 1.8 , 70-200 2.8 & 16-28 2.8 as my workhorse lenses. Apart from them I like the 7Artisans 9mm 5.6 and Meike 85mm 1.4 STM a lot 👍

Oh my gosh, abolutely in the same situation, went from canon ef system to s5IIx and start to switch to L lenses, so my plan was to buy all 1.8 primes , and fortunately I postpone buying 1.8 primes to 28-45 release and now all I want is this godzilla

You can get the Pyxis in L mount and get an EF to L mount adapter. There are adapters with built in Variable ND filters, which should be quite useful on the Pyxis.

Nice lenses. Did you keep the Sigma APSC zoom lens you did a review on? I have considered the 10-18 2.8 and 18-50 2.8 Sigmas for 4K 50p lightweight kit. i can't find many reviews with the S5mk2

I have grown to like the Sigma 45mm that came free w/my FP. But I cant figure out how to get it to autofocus on the FP whilst in video mode.. Do you have any suggestions on the autofocus settings for the FP? Cheers

I wish I did! I gave up on AFC with the fp a long time ago. I typically will set the focus and that’s about it. That surprisingly works really well as far as accuracy

genuine question, Do you believe, tit-for-tat that the FP has better image quality than the s5iix or maybe like the bmccFF?

Honestly, it’s what you are looking for in an image. I think the FP has the most organic image, it’s a sharp image without looking too digital. The s5iix is way more digital, but still awesome in its own right. The blackmagic is more filmic than both honestly. It really depends on what you shoot to which I would say one is better than another. I love my fp but I would not use it for my podcast or corporate work, as the s5iix looks more modern. But I would rather film my personal stuff with the fp. Sorry I know that’s a long answer, but that’s how I’ve broken them down
