Good gear will pay off once you're in a crash. Got a pat on the back 2.5 months ago from a pickup truck. My gear prevented worse injuries. Pants helped but my legs were out of the danger zone, fortunately.

Brilliant review mate! I got my first pair of armored Saint jeans about 3 years ago here in Australia, and not for 1 second have I ever regrated the money I spent ($400 AUD when I bought them). Their amazingly comfortable and they look good even after 1000's of Kms down the road. Like the Saint company founder said, "how much is your skin worth?"

Riding pants are the only thing I lack at the moment. I figured that they are the least important part to protect (as much as road rashes are pain in the ass) so I still ride in normal jeans. But other wise I have my armored gloves, good riding boots, ECE rated helmet and probably my best purcase the riding hoodie by Richa (with the hood removed becuase WTF is the point of a hood on a motorcycle jacket) with D3O armor all over and Aramid/Kevlar fibers sewn in. It does not matter how hot it is outside I can wear that hoodie and when weather cools down I can wear any leather jacket, be it riding or fashion leather, on top of it to protect me from the wind, light rain and cool air. But I do realise I have to get my riding jeans/pants some time, preferably before I get a road rash on my bum that forces me to eat my lunch standing up for the next 6 months.
@upsidedowndog12563 жыл бұрын
Nice job. As a learning beginner riding since 1977, I always look for options for protection. I am the guy in shorts and a t shirt most of the time, but always wear gloves and a helmet. I ride almost every day. Have no way to change gear beyond that once I get to work in an un airconditioned hangar. My wife's recovery has been slow. Her bike looks nothing like it did before she got hit, but is still quite a beast and great fun to ride. We look forward to her being fixed. The moral of my story is just don't crash. Having ridden for a few years I would suggest reading the road and traffic more than wearing gear, but gear is always good. My mantra is don't wreck!
@BrandonBicasso3 жыл бұрын
Slow but a good recovery. Road and traffic conditions have just as much weight if not more than gear as you said. Big statement 👌🏾

I always wear the best protection I can afford. Do I buy the least expensive? No. I try to find a good deal at a median price point and a good rating. Sometimes that is like looking for the holy grail. I just keep searching, till I am satisfied and won't settle for just any old thing. Like the old saying goes, don't dress for the ride, dress for the slide!

I suggest washing in cold water or wearing them in the shower without soaping them so they get that road grime off, but in either case hang dry. Can’t remember the last time I dried a pair of jeans
@1050cc3 жыл бұрын
I hear you ! I ride full gear and as good as I can afford. Like the fact that you can stay in the jeans if it rains and don't need to stop necessarily for over trousers they just dry as you ride out of the rain ;-)
@BrandonBicasso3 жыл бұрын
Yes, they definitely can get soaked, but they dry faster than a regular pair of jeans (from my experience anyway). While soaked, they don't feel overly heavy from water weight. Very versatile piece of gear.

Great review. On-sale on Revzilla currently for $339.15. Only has size 40 in stock. 1 pair left :o Still pricey. I have a pair of riding jeans from Diamond Gusset (bought at their store in Lynchburg TN). Has that weak ol' Kevlar in the critical places...but less than half the price. I tour in Klim Altitude jacket and pants, which are pricey, but that backed in Gore-Tex is unbeatable.

Great video Brandon I totally feel your pain I to back in July had a little accident on my Indian chieftain on the freeway hitting something and going into a wobble causing me to lay the bike down multiple abrasions on the hands elbows these were OK I did have the protective gear on but some of the abrasions on the hands orl unavoidable because my gloves tore It has been taking about a couple months six weeks to be exact I’m healing up just fine and I do like the flame resistant jeans and other companies make for construction workers the two also prevent any kind of major heat that caused by the asphalt concrete if you’re on it. Again thanks for the video dude
