Why This Channel Had to Move to Patreon & Memberships After 13 Years

3 Super Important Things 1) I understand how you feel. I'm an illustrator/graphic artist. I also know how it feels to make something you put a lot of thought and effort into and it falls kind of flat in comparison. Me personally, sometimes it feels worse when no one sees it or wants to see it vs. no one likes it or says something negative. With that said, I hope you don't give up on this channel, and I hope and pray for good things to come for you. 2) I've been watching you guys, both here and on MMPRToys, since 2012. In both cases, the reason I have watched and continue to watch your stuff is because of you guys being really awesome people. Whether it was you blowing up Mia with the Go-Buster Frog, Mia blowing you up with the Gokai Gun in retaliation, dealing with neighbor drama (which I won't lie, was kinda funny sometimes), Jerry making incredible looking pizzas, you making a Giant cake being held up with a broom, opening hanukkah presents (First Vid I watched of DAO), unboxing Ranger Keys, etc. You three have been the reason I've watched. So, whether you keep making vlogs, stick to only PR, or find a balance in-between, I'll keep watching. 3) Go #TeamMia... OK, and #TeamBruno

"Me personally, sometimes it feels worse when no one sees it or wants to see it vs. no one likes it or says something negative." Yes! (That got a big "YES!" out of ) Apathy can sometimes be worse than the trolls. Trolls say dumb things, and even though they're hating, you at least got a reaction. You at least did something worth responding to, and many trolls act that way b/c they're jealous of something. When you've spent time working on something you're happy with and either a) nobody says anything or "meh" or I'll add b) they say something totally irrelevant, it takes the joy out of sharing publicly. Not everyone realizes things change when you post for the public. You can draw at home in a private sketchpad for fun, but if you post a drawing on FB, you're probably hoping people will like it, or have at least something constructive to say. The neighbors weren't funny when they were our neighbors, but I'm sure Mia could do some pretty funny animations of them. There's probably some comedy gold in there somewhere. It's for sure easier to laugh being removed from the situation. ...it's been a while since I made a cake that needed a broom handle to support it. I should make another cake...

I've always been a much bigger fan of this channel than MMPRToys. I love seeing your real life and connecting with you all on a personal level way more than you just talking about toys. The toys on this channel were always just a plus to me. You and Mia are such pure souls and I'll be forever grateful for all the effort you've put into both channels. I was watching this vlog on the way home with my sister who was listening. She felt really sad for you. She also funnily remarked that it sounded like Mia was chained to the printer! I knew something like this was brewing - cuz the last video was nearly a month away and same for main channel. I think it’s a good decision. I’m glad I’m a patron, and I’m glad I’m one of the regulars who always watch what you publish. Wish my viewing effected things more, and you could continue. Thank you guys so much. This channel has really helped me understand myself better. Watching the sets you built and how much effort you put into these videos made me want to pursue something like this as well. I’m now soon going to college for film and I think in some way you contributed to that. You also helped me realize that it’s ok to like what you like. I remember getting bullied by classmates, friends, even my sister for liking power rangers after it was supposedly out of my age range. I still have almost memorized in my head a speech you made back in California about how if people get to tell you what to like then why can’t you tell them what to like. It’s been a few years now and I’m now never ashamed to tell someone I’m power rangers fan. Even when people make fun of me for buying the toys both American and Japanese. You introduced me to a whole new world. I learned about Sentai through you and this channel. You single handedly made me buy a dx shinkeno because I just had to have emblem mode. KZbin suggested me this video and then I realized I missed three more videos from this channel because KZbin decided not to show them when they came out. I found this channel from MMPRToys and decided to give it a try, then I found myself enjoying videos with no power rangers on it and stayed. I just wish people could enjoy this channel for what it is, not for what they want it to be.

I can honestly say, by a country mile, this channel brings me far more joy than mmpr toys ever did. That being said, mmprtoys is still one of my favorite toy related channels, bar- none. This vlog takes and sincere, honest, and dedicated approach that I fail to see in other modern vlog channels. It also doesn't hurt that our Hobbys and interests converge, but more so than that, I think your a genuinely interesting and intelligent person with inciteful commentary and interests.

Yeah, I've been expecting this. I'm sorry things haven't been working for you guys for a while, now. Between KZbin being broken and shitty, and the lack of interest/support/whatever that you've been struggling with on this channel, something had to give. I appreciate all the work you've poured into both channels, and for the record, I'll take one divided as one video over 10 MMPRToys videos any day. I wish there was something else I could do to help. I'm a patreon member, I like every video, and I try to watch them ASAP, because I think that helps the algorithm. If there's something else I can do, please tell me. I hope something works out.

Thanks Aaron This was certainly an idea I've fought for a while, but I think it's finally time. It kinda takes KZbin's algorithm out of the equation for this channel, which hopefully simplifies some things, and maybe a few other less things to worry about that are present when posting publicly.

I have always LOVED this channel for the vlog stuff. I dont often receive alerts when you post here and that is KZbins fault...not you or Mia's. I check in time to time to catch up on what I miss. There is always a calm yet fun tone that I love here. Bruno you and I grew up very similarly. I graduated in 02 carrying around a tank of a video camera very close to the one you are holding in classic footage. I followed MMPR since the beginning...filmed everything since I was a kid when it wasnt popular to do so. Also, 10 years on KZbin and went through the same exact excitement followed by dissappointment with YT's algothrim...all the struggles and saddness when a great video fell flat. After 10 years I stepped back fairly heartbroken. Im a content creator and vlogger at heart. We all have talent..lets keep finding our way and staying positive. Much love to you always. Hate to see you go. Have you ever considered a new channel or vlogging clips on tiktok? What doesn't work on one social media site seems to work for many on others. Maybe you can take clips from vlogs and repost there...

Kinda makes me sad people only want to watch this channel for power rangers. I used to be one of them, but nowadays I’m perfectly fine watching a vlog made by a vlogger I watch. I mean I watch other vloggers who get good views and they won’t be around toys or power rangers. It’s nice to learn about what you guys are doing these days, despite when I began watching your channel in late 2013, you were still in California before you officially moving to Pennsylvania 5 years later and a lot of things have since changed. First of all thank you for all the great videos you have done on this channel. I did first discover the vlog through MMPR Toys but enjoyed seeing what you got up to and the behind the scenes of everything you made. I’ve certainly seen a lot more of America now than I ever had before. Having this perspective on yourself and Mia, and Jerry, shows that you have real passion for what you do and not doing it just for “clout” or exposure. The KZbin algorithm sucks. I don’t think many people who watch your videos realise how much goes into each one and how it’s all done by yourselves from scratch. Now my comment is becoming a “short” Bruno speech at the end of each vid. I would just like to say I’ve enjoyed watching and hope that you might still post content here every once in a while. I guess I’ll start this long comment by saying that you are one of the coolest, most interesting, and most hard working individuals I know- both you and Mia. It's incredibly unjust that you've been getting such a short end of the algorithmic stick. Your videos were some of my favorites growing up, and I’ve only appreciated them more as time’s gone on. You and your videos are a massive inspiration to me, despite the fact that I don’t make videos anything like yours. I’ve been making videos since late 2020, ~120 so far, all of which are uploaded to my channel unlisted. I completely understand making videos just for the love of it, and seeing the effort and passion you’ve been pouring into your creations over the years has motivated me to get better. Thank you for that. On a sadder note, cases like yours where creators who fill their videos with passion and high effort get nothing in return have acted as a sort of warning for me. I had dreams of being a KZbinr when I grew up, like many kids did and still do, but since I’ve actually started making videos I’ve accepted that making stuff that I’m passionate about probably won’t align with what’s successful, and even if it does, it won’t forever. As far as I’m concerned, I’m already a KZbinr, and that’s enough for me. Sharing my passion projects with people in the future is just a bonus. I know that there isn't much I could say that you haven't heard before, but regardless, I think that part of the reason that your effort goes ignored so commonly is that your style of video is unfamiliar to a lot of new viewers. People still appreciate high effort, consistently good and inventive content from all corners of the platform, but I think that people's idea of what a KZbin vlog is has changed so much over time. I'm not suggesting that you change what makes your videos your own, but I think that may be a part of why your channels have been so neglected by viewers. Another thing that occurred to me is that people newer to the platform may not be used to a video being more than its title and thumbnail. When people see a toy review they probably wouldn’t expect there to be high quality animation, sets, scripting, filming, editing, etc. so they don’t pay attention to it while watching. There’s probably flaws in my reasoning above, but I hope that my perspective holds some merit. The resilience you've shown is astounding. Thanks for all the fantastic creations from this channel, MMPRtoys, and beyond. I hope the future of your channels is bright.

The time lapses here and working thru Xmas Eve and Xmas Day really tell a story, but I think the most striking thing you show is the "your audience is down XX%" that KZbin throws in your face every video. Seems like a prime example of how social media, in both comments and metadata can effect mental health, in its constant quest for optimization and numbers. They don't put that message so big on screen to offer valuable data for you to use, its clearly positioned to shame you into producing more optimized content they can monetize themselves, at the cost of making you feel inadequate. You could have 10 Million viewers per video on average, but if you get 9 Million on one, they're still gonna be beating you up over it. Truly hope you guys figure out the right work life balance that makes you happy. I've enjoyed watching your videos throughout the years, but y'all feeling fulfilled is the most important thing. Yo, so uh I'm not your core audience, but I just thought I'd leave this message incase anyone ever sees it. I found this channel through mmpr toys when I was very young, I remember the 2012 end of the world cake vlog; I was 10 in 2012. As much as it doesn't really feel good to say, I've never necessarily been a avid viewer of this channel, but I've been checking in sporadically over the past tenish years. Mmpr toys isn't really a thing I've been into or watched for a long time now, but you guys always seemed like such genuine and interesting people, not to mention the extreme talent. As you say in the video "ahead of your time" is an amazing term to describe what this channel is like. It's the only channel I've ever seen where someone can talk about that job they had on the set of Wild Force, or their first day of college, or whatever and be able to cut to a proto-vlog from that time in their life. I've always been so stupefied by that stuff. I don't really know why I feel like I should ramble in the comments in the hopes of someone wasting their time reading it, but I just wanted to vindicate you a little as well as to wish you guys well on wherever life takes you from here. I hope one day you'll get the success you've always deserved.

If there was ever any KZbin "stars" I ever wanted to meet in person, it was you and Mia. Almost 10 years ago I sent you guys some Megaforce and TMNT Valentine's cards but you guys were in New York City and didn't get them until you got back to LA in April.
