They're so finely tuned it's almost detrimental to them. Lions, tigers and leopards, to a lesser extent are all-rounders. They have strength, speed, agility, toughness and the power of intimidation (bullying other predators off their kill). All cheetahs really have is extreme speed and agility. I always root for the hard working underdog, that's why cheetahs are also my favourite of the big cats.

Man Cheetah's just got the short end of the stick on so many levels. As a kid I was impressed with how fast they were. Then I learned how much they get pushed over and don't stand up for themselves, have many weaknesses, low endurance, low strength, struggle with food, struggle with fighting, don't have an intimidating growl.. don't have retractable claws. Leopards-jaguars- Siberian tiger's- and all the smaller cats like lynx, bobcats, cougar's, etc. Have all been my favorite types of cats because of how diverse and complex and nimble they are. Plus I just like different ecosystems other than the African savanna where they're struggle for resources with lion packs.

Yes, they have got to be. There are so many options to die painfully and slowly for impalas. They've adapted well to this, though. As a species they're fine.
