Why This Disgruntled Driver Paid a Speeding Ticket With 22,000 Pennies

A man who was found guilty of speeding after contesting a ticket has taken out his anger by paying the fine with about 22,000 pennies. In a dramatic video he created to document his vengeful act with small change, Brett Sanders is seen going to the extra effort of branding his buckets with the slogans "Policing for profit" and "Extortion money." "It felt good to stick it to the man," he told Inside Edition. "I decided to not only pay with pennies but to clog the system. I wanted to make a point." #InsideEdition

Do y’all realize that we NEED speed limits??? If everyone goes 9mph over the speed then what’s the point in having a limit sign?? It’s for yours and others protection, since if it’s more of a curvy road, and you’re going 9+ mph then it’ll make a BIG difference, and this dude CLEARLY was speeding,he just can’t pull up his big boy pants and own up to his mistakes. In the end. Don’t speed, it just makes the risk of crashing higher,

Orion Entertainment all I'm saying is that there have literally been studies showing that higher speed limits dont increase amount of accidents, for example the autobahn has significantly less accidents then the average us highway, and the autobahn mainly has no speed limits, yes faster speed definitely do increase chances of death in accidents, but dont increase chances of an accident. www.ibiblio.org/rdu/sl-irrel.html The last few sentences of the abstract shows this. Also I do have a license, and own a car, and drive that car to work, and to school each day.

If I were disgruntled about a speeding ticket, I wouldn't have wasted my time by collecting tens of thousands of pennies and then dumping them in front of some poor clerk. The most I would do in this situation would be to place some cash for the fine into an envelope (in this particular case: two $100 bills and one $20 bill), write the words "Extortion Money" onto the envelope, and then hand said envelope, unsealed, to the clerk.

Dude broke the law, acts like hes above the law by not wanting to take accountability for something he did and could have prevented, so he acts even more petty by bringing in pennies punishing innocent people that had nothing to do with it? Good job dude. Hope it made you feel better. I still dont think he should have gotten any attention brought to him.

I tried paying for gas at the Stiles Gas station in Wisconsin about 7 years ago with quarters and they called the cops because they said they aren’t a bank. The cops came and whee on their side.

gas station is a private business. They can deny you service any time for any (non discriminatory) reason without even explaining why. Unfortunately, a courthouse cant deny you service, which is why they had to count this guy's pennies

Craig121000 He was going almost 40mph in a residential zone, the reason why you have to go 30mph is to have enough time to react to a kid running across the street to get a ball or something of that matter. So yes he was throwing a tantrum.

Tantrum; Noun; an uncontrolled outburst of anger and frustration, typically in a young child. Seems to me like he was perfectly calm, rational, and even polite. Hell, he even overpaid his ticket. How's that a tantrum +WiseFlow? Oh, right, it's not.

I can understand how he would have the right to pay it all in pennies but, shouldn’t he not be allowed to dump it all over the floor like that?
