About Master Sushi Chef Hiroyuki Terada:
Master Sushi Chef Hiroyuki Terada is one of the top Japanese Chefs in the entire world and the most popular Japanese chef on KZbin.
At age 10, Terada learned the basics of sushi from his father and then went on to attend RKC Chef's School in Kochi, Japan from 1987-1989. He soon earned a nickname for his fast knife, attention to detail, divine presentation and ability to create new dishes and accents based on traditional Japanese cuisine. After graduating RKC Chef School, he was called to serve under Master Chef Kondo at Yuzuan restaurant in Kochi, Japan from 1989-1992. Mr. Kondo is the master of Kansai style cooking, considered to be the high-end of Japanese cuisine. Terada earned the title Master Sushi Chef by becoming the standing head sushi chef & can serve Fugu (Japan Licensed) to the public.

Chef Hiroyuki Terada is using the Minonokuni Matsu-1573 210mm Yanagi. Super Blue Steel. Can also be used for breaking down whole fish and chickens. But normally for slicing, sashimi, vegetables, meat etc.. This is Chef Hiro's custom specked knife.

I've known about the Faroe Island Salmon for about 15 years now. I will not cook any other salmon at home. The fat lines are just amazing and make it so great. Great video of the entire process and how much work goes into a quality, sustainable product.

Seems nice but i hope they dont pollute the sea and fjords with what seemed like open pens for the adult fish. In norway we have had problems with waste feed and fish manure ect causing problems for the wild populations of fish. Additionally escaped fish can ve detrimental to wild populations and wipe out wild populations. We have seen the wild fish decreasing greatly in population aftet farming begun.

they were transparent with anything we wanted to see...and shared everything with us. They also have a biogas division that turns waste into power and fertilizer so on all ends, they are perfect example of what a farm needs to do.

Funnily enough I actually like some farmed salmon a lot. Coming from the west coast (we have beautiful sockeye salmon) it always surprised me that I enjoyed Atlantic salmon so much.

Thank you so much...yes the salmon has to be farmed raised and now parasites in feed. Wild salmon can also be used but must be frozen to follow the rules...but fresh salmon like this is better than anything wild.

they are made from other fish from the surrounding areas, plus other nutrients etc.

it is a high overhead but to farm the best highest quality salmon...this is what it takes. all sushi restaurants use farmed salmon...and not wild salmon also.

Cool video but I won't eat any Salmon not from Chile or the Pacific Northwest. In a recent study from a university who tested the PCB levels around the world and found the lowest ones from these two regions. Even so, the PCB levels are still high beyond the healthy levels so I usually limit myself to once per month. PCBs are highly carcinogenic and shouldn't be taken lightly.

I recently ordered bakkafrost salmon after watching your channel. They weren’t as fatty as the one shown in the video, there was barely any fat on it. I was very disappointed when I received the order. Felt like false advertisement.

Bakkafrost takes this business to the highest standard. we have seen everything including how they take the waste from these areas and create biogas and fertilizer and electricity too for the island.

A good idea such breeding farms. Regrettably, the work here is profit-oriented and the rearing is supplied with medicines and antibiotics through the feed in order to maximize profits. I don't like antibiotics in my food!

Due to resistent bacteria antibiotics is a largw problem in the food industry.. however, i believe just as large a problem is the open pen marine agriculture that pollutes and ends up decimating wild fish populations

What has been proposed as a solution that i know of is to have all the pens on land to prevent contamination. Regarding antibiotics i dont know. It seems like vaccinations as done, supposedly in the video, is a good idea in order to reduce the amounts of antibiotics.

cold? i am in shorts at 50 lol. ive eaten cat food and dog food. cant say fish food. i did have a hersheys today i found out by the road some trick or treater dropped. loved watching the process.

Best salmon and farmed salmon don’t go together. If you care about the ocean, don’t eat farmed salmon. If you care about your health , you don’t eat farmed salmon. If you care about the fisheries, you don’t eat farmed salmon. If you care about quality of sushi, you don’t eat farmed salmon. I’ve raised, farmed fish. I’ve seen the truth of it.
