Last year, I upgraded from the 5th to the 7th Gen. It’s the perfect size for me, and it really goes well with my iPhone 13 Mini. I was thinking about getting Paperlike and an Apple Pencil, but since I don’t really like drawing or taking notes, I decided to spend my Black Friday money on AirPods Pro instead. And I’m so glad I did! I made a tiny tweak to this and the previous paragraph using Apple Intelligence. Since I’m not planning to upgrade my iPhone anytime soon, I’m just happy to use it on this iPad, which works perfectly for me! Thanks, as always!

This is my first iPad. I bought it for games and notes in Goodnotes. It does not heat up (or at least it does not feel like it at all), holds a charge for 7-8 hours. It is very pleasant to use, no glitches or bugs. 60Hz is not noticeable to me on such a small screen. I wish it was waterproof, so that it would not be so scary to take it outside. Also, the tablet has very low brightness... On Android with IPS screen that I used, pixels often burned in. I hope they will not burn in on the tablet??

I went from the iPad Pro 11" to the cellular Mini and really happy with the decision. The size is honestly so enjoyable to use. I find myself sometimes even going for the iPad more than my phone at home. Somehow the 60hz refresh rate isn't a big issue for me. I've got a MBP and Pro iPhone both with pro-motion. Even switching between the two isn't a big issue. I think you have to see the product for what it is, a tablet for media consumption and light workloads. Technology nothing "pro" about it. If you have a MacBook already this is a perfect supplementary device. I'd strongly recommend the cellular version. The mini really shines when you take it on the go.

I bought an iPad mini 7 recently and love it more than anything. I use it for mobile/portable music production running GarageBand and Cubasis and loads of software instruments. 8 Gig of RAM and the A17 Pro chip make it work like a dream. I also use it with Lumafusion and Procreate video and photography apps and it's brilliant. The form factor / size is perfect as it's small and light to take anywhere. Plus you have Apple stock apps like Numbers, Pages, Keynote (similar to MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and iMovie. You can export and import in MS Excel and MS Word formats and there's no subscription required. I find it's perfect for creative working and fun to use... When I use my 13" M1 MacBook Pro (which I also love) I find it still a bit too big and heavy to carry around with me whereas the iPad mini 7 is small, light and fun to use.. Musicians/Producers can write/produce songs on the iPad mini 7 and then either finish them off on the iPad or import the GarageBand or Cubasis projects into Logic Pro or Cubase Pro. So it's a YES from me !!

You do have a few convincing reasons for why the purchase of a mini is worth buying even to this day. I’m actually thinking of downgrading to the regular-sized iPhone (sometimes my Pro Max doesn’t fit properly in my jeans/sweater pockets or it slips out of loose pockets). I would’ve gone for a 6th gen, but that meant having to carry two separate pencils with me, and I didn’t feel like letting that happen. Thankfully Amazon had the latest gen on a $100 discount! So that means I can just switch my Apple pencil around when needed, not to mention future-proofing myself.

I love the mini but I do think there are so much more you can do with iPad mini. For example, the UI text size is a bit too small, and in the home screen, the app arrangement is not take the advance of the full screen. Talking about the screen, I would like to see two changes, one is make the screen more towards 16:9, for a much much better video consumption device, and this won't affect the lovely handle feelings of the iPad mini. Also, I want to see at least a MacBook Air size bezel to have a bit more screen size and make the iPad mini/air line look modern. some might say the screen will be easy to miss touch, but apple can simply lock the outside of the screen, and actually they have already make a thinner bezel in iPad mini lightning version, I have use it and have no complain. I do think the 120Hz pro motion thing is a bit overreacting, and eventually iPad mini will get the Oled screen to reduce some weight, so nothing worry there. But to me, iPad mini 7 is great is not because iPad mini 7 have a good design purpose, but apple hardware + software in general is good, so they can slap almost everything in a mini package and it will be good. But that been said, as a design company earned so much money and are famously have so many fans among designers and artists, they are more and more market and finance driven, iPad mini is like the device they purposely sacrifice to avoid a competition with max iPhone. in 2012.10 iPad mini 1st gen era, apple will not hesitate to put the most slim bezel in their smallest iPad, and the iPad Pro 1st gen 9.7 inch got the similar design at 2016, but now if the iPad Pro won't have a MacBook Pro bezel, I don't see the year after that iPad Air can have some fresh air. So in general, no complain in iPad mini 7, but in apple as a company.

Unlaminated display though…unlike the 60hz/pro motion I have seen that in person and did jump out to me. They’ll need to sort the 10th gen’s display out.

You don’t need to take glasses off or remove a mask to use Face ID. Otherwise I agree with all you said! Mini is a wonderful device.

I heard about this and then I tried it with sunglasses on the other day and it had a really hard job unlocking. The whole time I was thinking ‘could have just used Touch ID and it would have been fine” 😁
@seancurry60522 күн бұрын
That’s too bad. My iPhones unlock fine with glasses on, and I work in healthcare and wear masks daily. No issues unlocking my phone using faceid. You do have to turn on a setting to allow unlock with a mask. Anyhow, keep up the great work!

@@seancurry6052 Thanks mate - I'll try setting it up from scratch!

Depends on the glasses. Especially shades are tricky, many don‘t allow the IR not to pass or limit it too much. Pupil detection might be the reason. Mask detection reduces safety and only works with newer Face-ID (when allowed). E.g. my iPhone XS (face-id gen.1) doesn‘t offer it.

I once had an iPad. I slept on it, so that it was bent afterwards. Other than that, I prefer MacBooks.

Why don’t you just get a huge ass phone lol……actually if you get cellular data with this you can use it as a phone with face time to other apple users and 3 rd party phone apps where they assign a phone number to your device and you can use it like a local phone call phone
@UnknownLamppost4 сағат бұрын
1:54 Only Apple would make a device this expensive and convince people they can only have FaceID *OR* a fingerprint sensor. Between that and the INSANE price increase for a reasonable amount of internal storage, I won't be buying anything from them unless they stop ripping everyone off. If you need something this size, just get a folding phone. No need to carry an entire extra device. Talking about using a full screen monitor - get a Galaxy Fold and check out the desktop experience you get with DEX. Apple has nothing that compares to the functionality of the various Android manufacturers. Samsung even has its own Airdrop system that works just as well, if not better. Edit: Forgot to add that getting a 60hz display in 2025 at this price should be a crime 😂

I think a 13” too, with a pencil. If, in the future I wanted a keyboard I could always add one (unlikely). I know the cost adds up, but after 4 years of doing everything on an iPhone, an iPad would be luxury😁

How is it worth buying when lazy Apple didn’t even make an effort to fix the scrolling problem? They had to know it wasn’t fixed when they released it, but they released it anyway. I hope the next update to the iPad mini will be released with everything functioning as it should for a device priced with extreme Apple tax
@ThatMarkGilroyКүн бұрын
Honestly mate - the scrolling issue didn't bother me with the Gen 6, and it doesn't bother me with this one. I must have really terrible eyesight because I just can't see it.

apple pencil pro is the reason I won't be buying it.I don't need another pencil.If they make it work with pencil 2 then I'll buy it.

Identical twins have the same fingers just as they have the same face

Apparently not - I did my research on this one. Fingerprints are more unique than faces even in genetically identical twins.
