#imadeit and great video. I prefer the pro. I see the mini not as an iPad but as a tablet and in the past that's how Apple used to describe it. I don't want a tablet I want an iPad. That being said, I don't want a pro so much as I want the better screen ability to play some games etc. Hence yes my next iPad will be a 13" pro as I don't own a laptop but an iMac; which I'll replace with a Mac mini. You kind of hinted at it, but the way I see it if you have a laptop, get an 11" if you have a desktop get a 13" unless holding it in your hands is a must.

I will prefer the ipadmini as the compact size & AI features available allows to be very portable and be more productive . I will use ipadmini more often than ipad pro, so i will prefer ipad mini. For pro works i will be using my macbook pro M4. I use ipad mini for specific ipad handwritting notes browsing and other works.

Merry Christmas Terren, FANTASTIC VIDEO IDEA, GREAT CONTENT BUT POOR VERDICT. Why? Terren, you mentioned EVERYONE HAS A LAPTOP, SO WHAT USE CAN AN iPAD PRO 11”/13” offer with a weak OS vs a MacBook or MacBook Pro? The mini as you mentioned IS A PURE TABLET IN MINIATURE HAND HELD PORTABLE SIZE THAT FUNCTIONS AS A HANDHELD TABLET - NOT A DESKTOP TABLET. FOR DESKTOP FUNCTIONALITY WE HAVE MACBOOKS. HENCE A POOR VERDICT ON A FANTASTIC VIDEO. TERREN, WOULD YOU SWAP YOUR IPAD PRO 13” FOR A 14” MACBOOK/PRO… I GUESS NOT BUT YOU’D STILL HAVE USE FOR THE MINI WITH A MACBOOK/PRO 14” LAPTOP.

I took my new mini back unopened. I ordered it in launch week, hoping the jelly scrolling and motion blur would have been solved. I then tried the on display new minis in the Apple shop and they all showed the issues are still there. I loved the concept of a small ipad in my pocket with a pen but my 2tB 11 in iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard and pencil 2 are far more practical for heavy use and productivity on the go. That set up recently went on a business trip to France for 5 days where weight (of my MBP) for a lot of walking and transfers, plus tiny bag size for an under seat carry on case were an issue. For consumption only, of a couple of serious newspapers and reading kindle, my ancient mini 2 still works well so that’s my ‘take down the pub’ device. Worth nothing, 10 yrs old, sharp screen and no jelly scrolling….😊

I currently have an M4 11 inch iPad Pro and I love it. Bought a iPad mini 6 used on eBay and I love the size but that 60 Hz screen is just a dealbreaker. But if they ever do a iPad mini with an OLED and 120 Hz screen, I am sold.

I carry my iPad Mini when I get in my car but at home it’s my 12. 9 M1. If I had to choose one it would be my iPad mini 6. My laptop can replace the M1, on the other hand I find my phone inferior to the iPad mini with the way I like to use them

I went from an iPad Pro 12.9 an iPad mini 6th Gen to an iPad Air m1. I’m currently shooing for a used iPad Pro 12.9. Why? The screen performance and writing space with an Apple Pencil. The 12.9 inches and the 120 kHz refresh rate are simply with all other trade offs.

SPOT On !! Terren stumbled on this video - you have a NEW subscriber! I kept waffling between the 13” and 11” but I find that I use the Mini for most of the content consumption. I went back to the 13” (from the 11”) because I use it more than the MacBook (I kept wanting to touch the screen for most of my work on the laptop 😊) in any case unless Apple starts making a 12” (a little smaller than the 13”, large enough for productivity but still small enough (I think) to carry all the time I am keeping my Mini and carry it with me everyone. Thank you I appreciate your perspective and proves I am NOT crazy 😅(well my wife still thinks I am) - Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Many Blessings to you and your Family in 2025!

If you've already got a recent generation MAcBook (Pro) then I wouldn't bother with a large format iPad as they're not truly portable or light weight.. you may as well carry your MBP around with you. My intention is to use the iPad Mini 7 for GarageBand iOS and Cubasis music production. The smaller scale iPad Mini 7 looks interesting to me as my old iPad Pro 9.7" is getting a bit too long in the tooth and I think the Mini 7 could well be the answer.. ideal for the backpack or a large jacket pocket.

I've had a 10.5" iPad Pro since 2018. I've had +6 years to discover my use cases. And while I agree the the 120 Hz display is great (and the 4 speakers of audio, too), the Mini makes more sense for my use cases, and I'm virtually certain I won't notice the display and audio downgrades. I've just purchased a 7th Gen Mini (should arrive any day now), and I'm looking forward to using it for what I use an iPad for. As you note, Pros are stupid expensive, and I can't justify spending that much on my use cases.

I use an IPhone 15PM and went from a 2020 12.9 IPad Pro to a 13 IPad Air. Originally I thought i would notice the refresh rate difference but honestly I never did, the 60hz apple displays punch above their spec sheet in real world use.

That’s just it! I’d rather wait on an iPad mini with smaller bezel screen, 120 HZ refresh rate and brighter screen with LED display. That would be the only way I would switch from an iPad Pro to a mini.

Since my iPad 11” M2 is my main computer I couldn’t just replace it with the Mini. The screen and the processor is just too good. However, I am thinking about getting a Mini 6 to use as a note taking, gaming, and KZbin watching device on the go, as the iPad Pro is still bulkier and heavier than what I want to carry around these days.
@devashishpatwardhan3Ай бұрын
As somebody who has a 15 pro max with pro motion, I absolutely cannot use a regular iPhone without pro motion, but I also have an iPad mini 6 & a MacBook Air which run at 60Hz & trust me, the lesser refresh rate doesn’t matter nearly as much as they say it does. I can totally appreciate pro motion but the bigger the screen gets, the lesser it matters. Also, if you’re going to use your iPad for media consumption, that’s going to run at less than 60Hz any way! The big iPads feel too big to need since I started using the mini. It’s truly the best iPad.

You influencers have praised the iPad Pro M1 so much that it has been abandoned gathering dust on some furniture in my house for two years now. Too big and heavy and does not replace the Mac at all. The iPadOS system is too limited in terms of productivity. iPad pro M1 12.9 It is almost useless except for listening to music at night because it has excellent speakers. Let the Mini arrive, at least you can use it everywhere.

I think there might be an issue with the title of your video. Is it meant to be a comparison with the iPad Pro? Or is it to show that you switched from the iPad Pro to the iPad Mini? Or is it to say that the iPad Pro is better than the iPad Mini, which is obvious and everyone knows it. However, people buy the iPad Mini because of its compact size. I would appreciate it if you could clarify your idea, as I didn’t quite understand it.

Whew u had me worried…I was really about to be upset with you bcuz I just ordered the 13’ inch….I have an older 10.9, 2018 that I still use…it’s just old. The bigger screen will be my new laptop so to speak. I wont have to carry around my MacBook. The price is hefty but, I added to my phone account that worked out better all I had to do was pay the taxes and fees and It should be coming in the first of the year.

I am a casual user, if you are reading apple book or when screen is static it's fine but it's a touch screen device interacting & scrolling is sooo bad it will give you headache. Texts are unreadable even scrolling super slow. It's super dim outside. I wanted to like it but I am not going to defend how bad it is.
