It's the most unpredictable season I've seen in a long while. No idea what the record will be. But we all have heard the ranges from as bad as 4-8 all the way to 9-3 realistically. So anyone's guess is as good as any. I'll say 6-6 just because our offensive production scoring points and having an identity running vs passing vs balance is unknown until we see the first 6 games. If it is 5-1 start then its going to be a great season : potentially 7-5 to as high as 10-2. Losses could be to any one in this gauntlet of a schedule..hardest games: UGA, LSU, UT, Utah, KY, SC, FSU, and (even miz,ark,and vandy can't be overlooked) without a balance of high scoring offense + defense it will be rough.

As a UT fan the take on our defense lacking depth isn't a good assumption to make. Our front 7 by all available camp intel is better and deeper than last year and we were a stout run defense last year (4th or 5th in the SEC). If thats true that means Mertz has to beat us and thats very comforting to me.

I like it. Well thought out and a little optimistic but maybe there's a good reason for the optimism. I have to admit, the more I here out of Gainesville the more I think this team will make the turn we've been waiting for. As for the portal, too me, it's players that couldn't win starting jobs somewhere else or players who were never selected for top programs but now have a chance because they elevated their play. I suppose NIL comes in play too. You can get some great players from the portals but it's really only a few who make it big compared to the number of players who enter. You're my favorite talking head this CFB season and here's hoping you get to 6K before week 2. You've earned it!

I think your predictions are very realistic. Hope your correct. Now from a super optimistic position. The biggest game of the season is Kentucky. if your predictions are correct, up to this point and they manage to beat Kentucky, that would be a game changer. They would be ranked in the top 10, seven and zero going in to south Carolina. Now you would have to give them the win, in South Carolina. But not by much. That would make them undefeated going in to Georgia. That makes this game one of the biggest of the year in college football. gators lose but run the table. So Utah And Kentucky are huge. Utah gets them off on the right foot and Kentucky is a season changer.

I've been a true fan of them Gators boys since the 90s. And although we have sucked the past few years and more I've remained a true and loyal fan. I live 2.5 hours away from University of SC and it will not be that cold in October so I think Florida pulls out a squeeker of a win. 9-3 has been my prediction for a while. I don't think we beat Georgia, obviously. The other two losses will be to Tennessee, LSU, or Kentuky. I don't know which. They'll win one they're underdogs in and then they'll lose one they should win. I did freak out a little last week after watching Grahm Mertz against Michigan but that was mostly me getting inside my own head. I got over that real quick. Florida isn't Wisconsin. Mertz will be a lot better in this Florida offense. And, man, do I get heckled, trolled, and called out when I say this anywhere but a Florida Gators venu. I said this earlier today in the chat of a live stream that covers the SEC in general and my goodness, everyone pounced on me. _Nobody_ thinks the Gators are going to win more than 4 games. Utah put on a master class in coaching and depth against Florida last night. Out eight starters and running with QB 3 and 4, Utah still completely controlled both sides of the line of scrimmage all night long. Coming into the game last night, Utah hadn't lost a home game since 2018. They were back to back Pac12 Champs. They beat the Heisman trophy winner twice last year. The head coach who has been with Utah Football for 30 years and head coach for 20 years, said this was the first or second best team he has ever coached. They were ranked 14th. All of these things should have played heavily in any prediction analysis. The talent gap at Utah is not nearly as wide as people seemed to believe. 3 and 4 star recruits with proper player development are often more talented than 4 and 5 star recruits without strong player development. And this isn't new for Utah. The same system fielded a team that destroyed Alabama in the Sugar bowl with 1-3 star recruits. Florida will win some games this year. It's not panic time for Florida, but the Utah game last night should be a wake up call for Gators fans. The rest of the country saw this as a loss for Florida. Vegas still had Utah winning after it was revealed that Cam Rising wasn't going to start.

If we drop both KY and SC and then go on to get clobbered in Jax and BR, the outlook for the final record starts looking grim IMO. In that scenario, 5-7 or 6-6 becomes a distinct possibility - if not an outright probability. I just don't see those as "making progress anyway" type loses. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see losing both of those games and still making it to 7 or 8 wins. Time will tell.
