Using the range to snap the clone back to you is a trick I learned from Pink Ward, but combining that with your Q to make it look like you disappeared and reappeared while actually bringing the clone into the fight is definitely some next-level thinking. If you ever don't have time to pull it off, and your clone isn't out yet, you can sometimes pull off a fake by pressing Q, then pressing R a second later and running away while still stealthed.

I played it for years and it's high risk medium reward because AP shaco is wayyy too team reliant, without team coordination around his boxes in teamfight + the risk of enemy swiping the zone before/during the battle he becomes an E execute bot, lacking *a lot* in term of damage.

one of my absolutely atrocious builds is hullbreaker shaco top with lethal tempo. shaco's clone takes his current stats, whether it be attack speed (lethal) or resistances (hull). the clone can then activate a second hullbreaker, gaining double resistances from the item, as long as it is out of ally range. combine this with sunfire, titanic, botrk, nashors/wits and black cleaver, and now your clone is basically a full tank with aoe hybrid damage. getting to this point of the build is remarkably hard though, hence the "atrocious" comment regarding it, but the payout is worth it. a couple things to note : Shaco's clone does not have lethal tempo itself, meaning its attack speed is capped at 2.50. shacos clone applies nashors/wits/titanic/sunfire/botrk onhits, but guinsoos/pd do not work on it somehow. it somehow works with botrks ms stealing ability, cosmic drives passive ms, and can even stack deadmans, which makes me all the more confused if you want to try it out in practice tool, shacos clone does not deal any damage to target dummies, the boxes after it explodes do, but not the clone itself. the clone works fine on minions and bots.

The thing is shaco's clone will have hail of blades forever until it dies when you proc it and R after, This does not work with other buffs. It would still be better to get hail of blades because of this fact. You're losing too much damage not having it

you can find out which is the clone by checking shaco's items, mythic has a yellow border while clone doesnt so as soon as you get used to looking at this you can easily detect which is clone and which is not

Stealth into Ultimate is actually pretty well known. The best trick is staying level 5, getting level 6 while unseen by the enemy. Because the enemy hasn't seen Shaco since level 5, Shaco's clone will also show as level 5. Essentially people don't believe you have your ultimate yet, therefore can't be a clone when it is.

i've played with someone who tried this yesterday evening, i was jungler he was my mid, it was so fun to play with him, he was really good (which is suprising coz im somewhere in silver or bronze). Its so unfair against enemies to play like that, i would scout enemy jungle for their jungler and when i found him shaco would run to river and put couple boxes there, i would then lead enemy jungler in them and got free kill.

8:25 Well, I encountered a Shaco doing similar things and I learned there’s a nice way to deal with Shaco and his clone. Just hit them both. Someone with bursty AoE damage doesnt need to pick the right one, they just have to hit both. And that’s how I learned to deal with Shaco as Neeko. Box? Neeko’s W clears that out. Clone? Hit them both. Invisibility? Predict where he’s going and E Q him. Sure, he’s Shaco and he’s tricky, predicting him is hard. But a Neeko who’s done a lot of running away should be pretty sneaky minded themselves, so you can get some solid guesses as to where they wanna go.
