Why This Metro Station Has Signs In Latin

Next stop Ancient Rome: the town of Wallsend, in the east end of the city of Newcastle, is served by a stop on the Tyne and Wear Metro system which is, by all measures, a perfectly ordinary and unremarkable public transport station... except for the fact that it happens to be the only rail station in the world to display its signs in Latin.

Does the station at Vatican City have signs in Latin? It certainly won't have anything like the passenger numbers that Wallsend has, with one service per week from Roma S Pietro which is about 400 meters away.

In Vatican City you can use an ATM displaying Latin, which must be unique surely.

Wallsend is in North Tyneside NOT Newcastle.

Yes, which is why I made sure to mention it's a town in its own right. Doesn't stop it being in the east end of Newcastle, though. Just like how Westminster is in the west end of London.
