Check the “Speedle” SETTINGS! Down the bottom, there’s an option for the “New York Times” or “Hello Wordl” word list! And there’s an option that lets you auto-type words. If that’s not cheating (which I expect it is).

That's true! But that option was added much later, for a good while hello wordl was the only wordlist on speedle and is still the one that gets run on the leaderboards. Also, as you guessed the auto functions on speedle aren't allowed on leaderboards.

There’s another problem with this ‘perfect’ set: we don’t know what word are on the possible answer list. I was playing with this exact set and the answer was ‘cider’. Because I was trying to go fast, I put ‘dicer’, which was wrong. Obviously ‘dicer’ isn’t in the possible list of answers (otherwise this video wouldn’t have been made lol) but it still means obscure words like that could still be guessed.

Finding the perfect 5 word set of guesses is best first step towards being able to figure out if there is a way to solve the 'perfect' or 'as close to perfect' 4 word set, or maybe even a 3 word set.

One that I thought of myself was, WHARF LINTS PUDGY COMBE. I particularly like this because it uses the 20 most common English letters but only uses 4 guesses. Of course, it's only good for what I use it for and the one featured in this video is used for its specific purpose.

There is one issue about this. I was playing wordle unlimited one day and I typed in the 5 word combo. And I got stuck between the words (rager) and (eager). There was no way to tell. But I’m not saying this is a bad combo, but it’s not “perfect.”

Isn't speedle flawed in many ways? The timer for the next word starts the moment the current wordle has concluded, and if you mess up on a single wordle, the other words are all smushed into short bars and are all coloured a saturated green.

I was trying this wordset, and got a puzzle where I guessed YUMMY but the answer was MUMMY. Is this because YUMMY is not in the possible answer list? I feel like if mummy is in there than so should yummy, but either way it seems this strat requires a strong understanding of the answer list. I like the 4 word starter better just to alleviate situations like this

Some of the Wordles aren't fair, for instance I once did a Wordle where if you knew the first 4 letters there were still several options for the 5th letter, and I lost.

I tried using this new word set on Duotrigordle but it doesn’t distinguish between pasty and patsy which I’m pretty sure are both on the Duotrigordle answer list. I understand that this doesn’t matter too much in Duotrigordle because pretty much every other word is easily solvable and should give you the information you need but I thought it was interesting. Does Duotrigordle have a different answer list than the other wordle variants?

Personally i use brick, glent, jumpy, waqfs, vozhd. Its not very good for wordle, but with things like 32 or 64 word wordles, its much better (Btw its all letters but x)
