I use 3 guesses which are prioritized by letter frequency. AROSE (or SOARE), CLINT, DUMPY. AROSE has the 5 most common letters in 5-letter words, and 3 vowels. It touches 95% of the words in the word list. CLINT and DUMPY are letters in the 6th to 11th, and 10th to 16th commonness range. Usually, I get enough matches (4 to 5) to solve. If I don't get any vowel matches with AROSE, I follow with UNITY, which checks all the vowels in 2 guesses. Then I guess CHILD.

On another note: It’s important to remember what words were already used in the game so far. If you guess a word that has already been used, you are probably wasting it. For your strategy’s “edge cases,” the first one: CATCH, HATCH, and WATCH (2:28): * CATCH was used on October 15, 2022 (#483) * HATCH was used on October 10, 2021 (#113) * WATCH was used on March 11, 2022 (#265) …you’ll never see this pattern again unless they start recycling words. For the second one (CORER, COVER, COWER, 2:56): * COWER was used on July 8, 2023 (#749) * COVER on June 18, 2024 (#1095) * CORER on October 15, 2024 (#1214) …this pattern won’t reappear. And finally, the third situation (JAUNT, TAUNT, VAUNT, 3:03): * JAUNT was used on October 20, 2021 (#123) * TAUNT on September 6, 2022 (#444) …so VAUNT would be the best pick.

Finally won with "tromp" as my first word and of course a bit of luck today. I like the math behind "metro," but I've always preferred one vowel starters because I can start to sound out a word with all consonants better than with all vowels.

I also sometimes using that strategy like flame shunt for a practice or a speedrun. I mean imagine if the flame was today's word. Then... I would change the order of that strategy.

Actually, the hardest achievement in Quordle is Slow and Steady. It takes almost 3 years to fully complete. I understand that this is the hardest on a probability standpoint, but they showed at the end of the video you can get it easily using a seed.

But I agree you’ve made the sum more complicated than it needs to be, while being too optimistic about how long it might take to achieve God Mode in gameplay. If you crunch the numbers for Quordle starting with the formula set out by @jdaster64 and the video’s number of 2,306 for the Quordle wordlist, the probability of getting one of the four correct answers with your first guess is 4 in 2,306: if you manage this your chance of your second guess being right is 3 in 2,305, your third guess 2 in 2,304 and your fourth guess 1 in 2,303. To achieve God Mode you must succeed four times in a row: the chance of this happening is (4/2306) x (3/2305) x (2/2304) x (1/2303) = 0.0000000000851% - that's about 1 in 1.175 trillion. So if you played a game every two minutes, day and night, 365 days a year (you can have 29th February off) you would achieve God Mode on average about once every four and a half million years.
