I'm looking forward to how Rasmus did in that game, because I saw him doing good playing with back to goal, but it looked like when he got to turn with the ball and try to pass it forward there was both no good option in front and he is not that much of a playmaker, so it went wide. He needs someone to make a run and carry it past him when he knocks it down. I also keep seeing him having to move out wide too much and especially to the left, where he has a harder time shooting from when he gets back in the box. I understand a striker isn't just a box threat, but I don't think you're maximizing what he offers having him support play. His main trait is finishing and he doesn't get enough chances. It's good that he scored that goal, but I want to see easy goals and more shots taken inside the box from him, not everyone else who is considerably worse finisher, yet takes more shots.

I've been saying it for weeks, but Casemiro and Eriksen is our best midfield. Casemiro needs Eriksen next to him, and Eriksen needs Casemiro next to him. Neither are compatible with Kobbie or Ugarte, but they are compatible with each other. Ten Hag was forced into playing them together, and we looked so much better for it.

@AJAnalysis Definitely not three times a week, unfortunately! I do think people overstate how much they need to be rested, though. We saw it with Matic, who people insisted couldn't play 40 games a season, then he went to Roma and played 50 games in his first season. I think Casemiro and Eriksen can play the majority of the tougher fixtures and leave the League and FA Cup,. and the easier games of Europa, to Ugarte, Mainoo and Mount depending on who is fit. I don't really think anyone should be playing 3 times a week if you can help. I think Rodri was pretty spot on when he talked about how the number of matches will create injury risk. Personally, I think we should be trying to get Mainoo to play more like Eriksen. I think he has the ability to play the ball forwards a lot more than he does but he has gotten comfortable with being praised for being "composed" when the reality is that a lot of the so called composure is actually just playing safe passes and not taking any risk. He can do it, he just needs to be pushed to. Ugarte is a more difficult one. I really think that buying him was a mistake. Even in Ligue 1, which is much lower level, he showed a complete inability to playing anything other than the simplest of passes. I'm not sure if he will ever develop that part of his game or not, but until he does I only see him useful as a role player who comes on when we need a destroyer at the cost of control. I do think Mount could probably do the Eriksen role, too, but unfortunately he is made of glass 🤣 Curious what you think. It is nice to see someone engaging with their comments in a more positive way. Most fan channels would just blast me 🤣

You know what I liked about his change of tactics in the second half was having dalot High and wide Instead of rasford. Ten Haag tactics could say was similar to tuchel at psg, where tuchel would have Neymar an mbappe as two tens an have a wide full back which is similar to what ten Haag did with instead of having Cristian as a 10 with Bruno he had rashford there so Cristian can stay in the pivot with case instead of having dalot going into midfield which I think brings better fluidity to the team cause considering we had Martinez who is a cb which makes the change to back 3 in possession easy as there wasn’t to many changes about cause with rashford in the inside right channel gives dalot more chances to make a blind side run which most players won’t pick up which I saw with 2 times dalot was in behind

Youve got to get players to use the half way like that to beat the press - the centre half doesnt' want to follow a forward player over the half way line - it acts as a kyrptonite barrier for the central defender because he loses his magic power - the offside rule, when he does go over it and his team is out of posession. So you can always create local superiority if you get someone like Bruno willing to come back and be that extra man for the goalkeeper to play out to.

It was a good game Brentford was not proactive but at the same time we did well. Bruno never drops that deep to get the ball it was good to see him do that, he also needs to improve his passing those unforced errors are still there he didn't run around much in this game during the press which is better but when you give the ball away that much in a game and make an assist, it's difficult to say you played well because you could have caused goals against your team as well. Garnacho and Rashford played well especially defensively which cannot be overemphasized but they need to understand that one of the primary duties of the winger is to create for Rasmus he is a better finisher compared to them, he needs to be supplied the ball in the box more frequently his hold up play was legendary. Ericson is just a joy to watch I maintain that Ugarte was the wrong profile we need a younger Ericson, a player with intelligence on the ball and some physicality I just wonder how ETH didn't see this. Deligt and Evans played well. Dalot had a good game but he has this tendency of switching off and not tracking his man which can be detrimental to the team no matter how good we play he really needs to deal with that aspect of his game as he has caused a couple of goals this season already. Casemiro was decent as was Martinez but we need a LB the combination play on the left was different because we had a left footed player playing there. Onana was good. Mainoo I thought the midfield looked more compact without him in there I just hope we are developing him in the right position with the right instructions. After the second goal the game went out of our hands again we lost control we need to be good for 90 mins. I am not convinced we might just go back to our usual selves again in the next game. AJ this formation is not ideal for pressing This formation was formed or rather perfected in FA Cup against man city Eth tried to tweak it by moving the whole structure forward to enable pressing but it failed miserably.... At the moment the press is not working or worked in training, you can see how uncoordinated it is.... cos if we press and the opponent drops an extra man in midfield we are cooked. And our midfield can't handle that extra man. See Liverpool, Tottenham etc The use of onana as extra CB was amazing, the drop by bruno is another brilliant move, hojlund hold up play is amazing although... zirkzee is showing something but not there yet. My problem is that the wing play is not dangerous enough, we had enough chance to put the ball in the net more than twice. The left wing is the only threat... And unfortunately it is not helped by the fact that we don't have a natural left back who can overlap. The right wing is just non existence, Rashford must be changed intermittently with Amad to see the best result. Second is keeping position at the recovery ball, when we win back and decide to keep possession with the opposition team coming out, we lose it carelessly... cas, bruno, erikson must not be shy to go all the way to onana... instead of losing the ball... Against better teams we will be in trouble. Finally, what happens when teams decide not to push it... Eth must think ways of refining the pressing part of this formation cos it's not durable enough
