@@Sleeepy23 Jon either fights stipe whilst vacating the title or fights the interim champ as soon as possible after recovering. Fighting the interim champ should by default always be the next fight. Jon is clearly avoiding this because he’s less confident about winning against Tom compared to winning against stipe. He’s clearly dodging this fight. This is also assuming jones won’t retire after a fight with stipe. There is a possibility that jones will finish his career after fighting stipe and he will never give Tom the chance to fight him. @@Sleeepy23 Jones' recent injury aside, the proposed fight didn't seem logical from the start. Stipe Miocic, regarded as the heavyweight GOAT, hasn't been as active recently, with his last fight against Ngannou in 2021 and one in 2020. Despite his status, it’s visually clear he's past his prime and shouldn’t be in title contention. The UFC is clearly feeding Miocic to Jones to potentially diminish the standing of the true undisputed heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou.
@Sleeepy239 ай бұрын
I agree that Ngannou really feels like the real champion. What really should've happened was Jones vs Ngannou. After that Aspinall would've earned a title shot so it could be Aspinall vs the winner of Jones vs Ngannou. But since Ngannou left, Jones won the belt. Tom Aspinall is really good but I don't like people saying "he's the real champ". He hasn't done what Jon Jones or Stipe have done. It really feels like there is no Heavyweight Champ right now because Ngannou left. If anything, Ngannou is the real champ.
@dankmemesmeltexistentialdr27699 ай бұрын
Well he hasn’t done it because none of those people will fight him? What’s he to do??
@Sleeepy239 ай бұрын
@@dankmemesmeltexistentialdr2769 he will get his chance eventually. But you gotta remember, Jon Jones beat Cyril Gane in March and that was before Tom Aspinall even fought Tybura. So Tom Aspinall didn't earn a title shot at that time. Then Jon Jones wanted to fight Stipe for a legacy fight. So just because Tom Aspinall got two good wins after that, it doesn't change that Jon Jones Vs Stipe is going to happen.

Aspinall emphatically beat the #1 heavyweight contender in Pavlovich, who was on a massive win streak. I’d say that makes him a deserving champion
@mdottzzzz9 ай бұрын
@Sleeepy23 a) he wont, jones will retire after stipe b) like makhachev, if you're the champion, the number one in the div, you can beat anybody in there, why would you duck a challenger. c) interim champ should mean something. And we all know what it means, so why is Jones avoiding it?

Ngannou barely defended a belt once. After that he went full diva-mode and asked way too much. He's a roided company product pushed by every MMA access media journo rats.

Aspi lost 3 times according to public records lol.. Jones never lost beside the fact of the illegal elbows.

Jones is absolutely terrified of Tom Aspinall, and I don't blame him. That guy is built like a brick shithouse but moves fast like a middleweight and has ridiculous KO power, great submission skills and 100% TDD. I can't find a way Jones could defeat that creature.

Can heavyweight class get a fucking break? First we got robbed of Fedor vs Cain. We got robbed of Jones vs Ngannou, and now Jones vs Aspinall. This class is cursed in MMA.

Aspinal isn't a king without a crown.. He is a King who literally doesn't need a "crown"... Just because the UFC and obviously Jones don't want to touch this fight currently, doesn't change the fact of what Aspinal has faced vs what Jones has faced in the HW cage.. That belt or "crown" WILL be Aspinal's sooner or later.. The question is simply does Jon have the sack and nerve to get into the cage with him... Likely not.. He WILL lose against Tom... He's going to retire before Tom gets a chance to steal his soul and some of his legend..

"Dana has ensnared Tom." That says it all. This is a rare situation where the fans need to write to Dana and demand that Tom be given the next title shot.
