What it boils down to is, I think a lot of people either don't understand or just don't like comedy anymore. If it's a good comedian, everyone should be "offended" once or twice during a routine. Whether you're fat, a Christian, gay, autistic, a minority, Conservative, Liberal, a disparaged group, a celebrity, etc - they should address at least one characteristic of everyone in the audience. I love comedy and almost every routine I watch addresses several things about me.
