Thanks for the update! I hope it goes back up to normal, but I’m glad the wheel issue was observed prior to a guest being harmed

I recently saw a video from a man that said that he and his family departed Chicago to go to Sandusky, OH to ride this coaster. When they got there, they discovered that it was closed down. Talk about being pissed. I know that I would be. It would be nice if they got it up and running by Memorial Day. I doubt it, though. Safety should always be the most important factor in roller coasters. Cedar Point has to get this right. Peace.

I agree with him safety over all .. this is the first coaster I’ve seen there that doesn’t have a seatbelt belt that went over 80 mph

@@zacharysmith1187 - True! I guess that the manufacturer felt that the restraints are sufficient. Peace.

@@zacharysmith1187 at all parks safety is always the top priority even if all they cared about was money safety is still the top priority because if stuff happens they will loose money. Rides dont open if they are not safe, and If a ride eventually closes it dosent mean it was un-safe before it just means a protential problem that if was left un-noticed could protentialy lead to an accident or worse. As for not including seat belts all parks at least here in the US have very specific safety guidelines they have to fallow with back ups for if a main restraint fails, so if you dont see aa seat belt there is some other method of doing that same thing, some times seat belts are just included to help general public feel more safe.

Yes that is the unfortunate part about this; I would also feel very frustrated if I visited the park just to see it closed.

@@zacharysmith1187 Seatbelts typically aren't actually necessary on most large roller coasters; any restraint will have redundant hydraulics or ratchets, seatbelts are usually just there for insurance reasons or to make people feel more safe.

Well yes they will the manufacturer cause they took the bid to do the job with Confidence and ensure they work. So why would Cedar point, not bring them up

Ryan the ride mechanic seems to think it's the urethane on the wheels cracking and being in danger of breaking up and flung from the ride hitting people everywhere from 400 feet up. They'll send them back to be refinished with a higher quality urethane. Too bad they just didn't ask intamin what they used to begin with.. or yank a wheel off the old ttd trains and have it tested to make your own. 🤷 Anyway, I'm hearing 60 days because that's how long it'll take for the urethane to cure enough to run the ride.

That was what I figured the problems with the wheels was; but I didn’t want to mention it since I’m not really an expert on that sort of thing. Thanks for the info

I'll tell you what's wrong with Top Thrill 2, and it's very simple. ZAMPERLA HAPPENED!! I knew from the start when it was announced that Zamperla was going to Reimagine Top Thrill 2, This was Absolutely Going to Happen. Shit, Zamperla never built a Hyper Rollercoaster than to tackle on such a project with a Strata Rollercoaster?? Their biggest Rollercoaster they built is some 150ft, with a Train Max Speed of 57mph?? C'MON!! Cedar Fair chose Cheap, and Inexperienced over Experienced!! Oh Well!! Cedar Fair, You got What you Paid For!!

Actually Intamin happened, extremely poor hydraulic launch and extremely frigid and fragile parts that constantly have to be maintained over and over again. Intamin is held responsible for the cable breaking incident and the brake plate incident. This ride was constantly down because of Intamin. Cedar fair should have requested B&M or Rocky Mountain Construction, but Cedar Fair is so arrogant and entitled they have ruined a lot of relationships with a lot of these companies. Intamin has ruined a lot of rides and their rides are constantly in need of attention and maintenance!
