That was a fun trip to St. Catharines, Ontario. Searching for the best city to live in Canada. Hamilton is on our minds. Specifically Dundas, Hamilton for all the nature and waterfalls. Might take a trip there soon to check it out!

There's a farm shop just outside Dundas called Morden's organic farm store that has local organic meats, eggs, and honey. I used to go there before I went back vegan, quite a wide variety of local meats and even wild meats like elk from different parts of Canada

I can't believe you opened with a compost story. Or that I'm about to respond with my own compost story: Some mystery animal lived like a king in my compost bin most of the summer. I only caught a glimpse of it once and it scared the crap out of me. It kept digging tunnels and dirt would go out through the holes in the sides, so I'd have to shovel it back in every few days. Because of this constant turning and mixing, it made the best soil I've ever had in the shortest amount of time. Eventually the animal moved on and now my compost sucks again because I'm too lazy to flip it.

VP, We’ve seen an increase in rent prices even in outlying towns. Toronto is about 20% up YOY. You’d still be spending $2500/m and up for a small house in the Hamilton area. Not a lot of rentals in Dundas. God bless

I lived much of my life in St. Catharines. Downtown isn't that bad, especially for someone used to Toronto. It's got some rough neighborhoods, but every city of 150,000 or more has that and, often, a lot worse. Thee main downtown thoroughfare, St. Paul Street, has actually improved a lot since I was a kid. Many more trendy eateries and pubs. But, to each his own, I guess. Good luck with your search.

Research building your own house option. Our countries and economies differ of course, but if you buy a land with at least electricity access, you can teach you self to build foundation, wooden frame (or other materials), etc., and in 5 ears or less you could have your own housie without banishing your self to the building site for ever. Decorate the minimum portion of the house where you could survive, like the first floor, or a room with a kitchen and shower until you have more money to finish the rest while you don't have to pay your rent. Don't be to ambitious with size. If you are planning one kid and a man cave, 3 bedrooms is tops, which is a larger apartment and this is doable.

Many years ago I felt that Hamilton, Ontario kept me and a friend from potential harm. We were coming from Toronto after seeing friends. Were were doing back to Ohio. We got the idea to find a Brewers Retail to get some superior Canadian suds. We drove around for what seemed like an eternity. Couldn't find one. We gave up and went to the states, We were driving on I 90 east of Erie PA when ambulances with their lights and sirens going were passing us. We later found out that we just missed severe tornadic weather conditions. True story.

I'm moving to Calgary and my boyfriend's been shopping for houses there and there was one whose entire price was the cost of your down payment and it had a sauna in the basement. That was a super good deal someone snatched up right away, but there are similar ones he's found since in the $200s. Ontario sucks. Oh! lol I actually found a few rare Dr. Dray recommendations that aren't made of petroleum! And I bought one and I'll be darned if I don't look ten years younger already!

@@vegetablepolice There are specific formulations of the evil brand names that don't have vaseline or mineral oil in them. So Eucerin is normally bad, but their Complete Repair is good (that's what I bought). For Cerave, I think it was the Night formula that I also noticed was decent. They still have lots of chemicals I had to look up and some are derived from corn, but they're supposed to be fine for your skin and environment according to all the websites. I decided to try Eucerin Complete Repair because I've tried everything else, including many of my own all-natural homemade formulations, and a woman in Dray's comments section had the same story and swore by it. My problem was that using any anti-aging product - ie hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid, or even niacinamide - would all cause the skin around my eyes especially to kind of shrivel, even on humid days!! Dray says you need emolients and occlusives, and this Eucerin is working way better than even my homemade cream that included things like glycerin and shea butter.

I'm like you.. I keep switching my diet up. I am presently trying the starch solution type of diet. Though I am not eating grains. I also fast until lunch or dinner. I tried keto for 23 days and could not handle the fatigue. My legs felt like dead weights. I have a slew of autoimmune stuff. The reason I am doing the starch is because I think the butyrate will heal the gut. So I am feeding the gut bugs the resistant starch they need. The interesting thing is that when I first started all of this in 2014 I was on a no starch diet. At that time it was thought that starch would feed klebsiella. I have ankylosing spondylitis and many people with that autoimmune condition do a no starch diet. In any case keto screwed up my digestion and stomach in general. I also gained weight. Blah!

Houses are expensive but needing several landscaped nature spots, a niche buddhist temple, specific vegan/keto grocery and a high-end camera store just screams of city slicker problems. As i see it you can do 2 but not all 4, if you are really lucky maybe 3; perhaps the temple and nature spots while mailing in food and gear? Travel blog and comedy is what made the Thailand days amazing, not the food drama.

It is good that you are doing well with your current diet so far. You can do a variety of types of videos including occasional ones discussing diet and health to keep things "fresh". Your discussion on precious metals almost seems as if you have been listening to Chris Duane's old Silver Shield videos. The Bible does value precious metals; but it also values investing to allow one's money / assets to gain value through interest. In the Bible, Jesus told the parable of the gold talents in which the servant who did nothing with the gold that was given to him was told that he should have at least invested the gold so that it could gain some interest.

You just live in a very expensive country it seems. Or that house you looked up is one of the most expensive? How much space does it have in m² Even in western Europe, where the quality of life is more than decent, random 150 m² houses in decent neighbourhoods (in medium sized cities), with 700-1000 m² garden, shouldn't cost more than 350k on average, so half of the number you gave us. Maybe 2000-2500 $(€) / m²
