Having children was a great a wonderful thing in the past. Nowadays, don’t do it. I was married for 17yrs, divorced and have been paying big child support (8yrs worth) on the children I rarely get to see. I have one more year left and I can’t begin to tell you how life changing it will be for me when I no longer have to pay. I have truly been a sl$$$ for 8yrs. I love my children dearly, but the price you pay as a man is simply too high in today’s world. If you want to take the risk, just know … the stakes are extremely high and your life could be ruined if you can’t make it work. It’s also not solely up to you whether your marriage works out or not. That is one of the reasons I don't consider myself a republican or "right wing". Those guys are so great at spotting "left-wing" authoritarianism but so terrible at holding up a mirror and examining their own. The idea that "only" the government can protect women is not only absurd - it's setting up a coercive monopoly where competition in the market is not allowed - it's a logical self-contradiction as government must first rob people (via taxation) in order to "protect" them, thus failing to protect them. As for the left-wing, since they don't even pretend to have principles I expect evil and contradictions from them. That's the inevitability of ignoring logic, ethics, and principles as the left does.

Edward Dutton would be an interesting guy to have a conversation with on this topic. His theory is that environmental pressures are such that among the few children being born to intact families, almost all of them are being hard selected for extreme religiosity since it seems to be the only trait that inoculates one against the anti-natal death spiral of our economic/social environment. He postulates that this, in conjunction with plummeting birth-rates among non-religious psychological types, will lead to a very sudden and hard swing towards Religious Conservatism in the next 2-3 decades that will catch most people off guard. The only other groups breeding at high rates are low-IQ. So, in essence, if his theory is correct, in the next 2-3 decades society will be composed, almost exclusively, of Mid to High IQ Religious Zealots and swarms of low-IQ individuals of variable religiosity. His book, "The Past is a Future Country," was an interesting read.

And you shall be careful to do according to all that they order you. 11 According to the sentence of the law in which they instruct you, according to the judgment which they tell you, you shall do; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left from the sentence which they pronounce upon you. 12 Now the man who acts presumptuously and will not heed the priest who stands to minister there before the Lord your God, or the judge, that man shall die. Nor makes their experience valid 10 years later. Unless they’re putting in the work to keep up to date which can sometimes corrupt the w peace they think they have. Knowledge can be dangerous until digested into wisdom.

No, you don't just die at the end of your life like someone who has no kids. You die at the end of your life *with* kids. Enormous difference.

Procreating does make your genes immortal. And if you raise your children properly, it also makes your cultural ideas immortal. And it allows you to pass down your success and heritage to your children.

Yeah, and most parents now are breeders, Cappy is 100% correct in pointing out skoolz are nothing but teen daycare, breeders use kids like designer handbags, and don't truly give a crap about them. It shows with their mental health and futures being discarded.

I think the most women do want family and children despite what they say, buuuuut they have their lawyer on speed dial when you misbehave.

Most women have no desire to be wives or actual mothers....that is hard work and requires them to look after others. Western women are far too selfish for that.

misbehave = bored. I wonder how long people will keep putting all the onus on guys. if they wanted family they wouldn't break it off with someone THEY chose. If they wanted kids, they wouldn't get nannies to look after them, call them burdens publicly, and find ab()rti()n emp()wering. alas! r*d-pill excusing and r()manticizing of them goes on.

It was the Secularists that wanted governmental control over regulating this. Unfortunately, too many Christians mistakenly assume Romans 13 is a free pass to blindly obey government's atrocities and harmful if not outright contradictory commands against scripture. I don't recognize the government's authority over spiritual matters or in putting injections into my body out of fear.

My Republican dad sent his daughter to fashion college… she just recently got a very very local government job… she has never had anything close to a boyfriend. I’m just waiting for eugenic germline genetic engineering technology to be available, human genetic material can be procured with rather less fuss, and have healthy children who can live full lives and to have more then 3 kids without being told no by a woman and fear of losing custody.

What all these people look at when they say marriage makes the economy more stable look at the fact that married men with kids make 70% ish more than everyone else. The married with kids dad pay gap is the largest pay gap nobody ever mentions.

In my state, presenting yourself as a married couple (rings, church ceremony, cohabitation) will put you into the jurisdiction of the family courts. ETA: sorry, Cappy said this right after I did.

Marriages will help the economy because assuming the couple reproduce, there will be more consumers too

Economies are not based on people. They are based on resources...capital. If you can make more money with less people, the elites choose that. Marriages don't necessarily help the economy just as immigration does not necessarily help the economy. The concept is known as scarcity. There are not infinite resources.
