Most banks (at least in my country) only allow paying off mortgage by 3/4 of the term otherwise you are paying penalty. By then the banks already received most of the interest. Either way the bank wins.

I hate being around people, but I knew I should lift the weights... so then I thought about the "do men really live like this?" Meme and spent about 800 bucks on a home gym setup for my apartment instead of buying furniture. I have been consistently working out ever since... there's a lesson in there somewhere.

The only risk is now being more of a target of lawsuits because you have assets. But I would pay off the house before investing in the stock market or similar.

I bought my house for 230 cash, and the cash offer was likely the only reason that I won the house. If I had a 3ish percent mortgage, I’d put my money in the market and let inflation eat up the value of the mortgage.
@joblo19783 сағат бұрын
Yes, pay it off, AND invest. It’s not an either or question. The more mortgage you have left, the more you save in interest fees. At least get rid of PMI payments ASAP. Look at your amortization schedule to see what not paying it is costing you each month, and go from there.

I have a different opinion about this, Cappy. In my view, the majority of women today are feminists, even those who claim they aren’t, because most women live according to a feminist framework without even realizing it. The ones you see online aren’t just ordinary feminists; they’re activists, the true believers, but they make up only a small percentage. The real issue isn’t the activists, any man can see they’re extreme. The real problem is the average woman. It’s the average woman who divorce you, take your kids, and ruin your life. Don’t believe me? Just ask the women around you a few simple questions: Do you believe a woman should prioritize her career over starting a family in her 20s? Do you believe no-fault divorce is good, and that a woman should be able to divorce for any reason? Do you believe that women are oppressed? I can almost guarantee that most women will answer “yes” to all these questions. The problem is, they don’t even realize where these beliefs come from. The majority are covert feminists.

I paid of my house in a little over 5 years. It’s essentially been an extra $1100 per month tax-free without doing any extra work or taking another job. It’s pretty sweet. I don't exactly have "F You" money, but I have "never worry about money again" money. Paying off my house allows me to invest a lot of that money and live as if I make about $12000 more per year than I do. Mathematically, it makes more sense to invest the money you would spend on paying extra principle against your mortgage. But there’s more to finances than math.

Not an RPG fan Cappy? Writers are important for story-based games. Not every video game is Astrobot or Minecraft. And there are plenty of Japanese video games with great stories. Japanese gaming hasn't been infiltrated by woke nonsense like the West has.

I think this guy might want a summer home and then a winter home. Summer in Wyoming might be preferable to living there all year. A winter home somewhere in the south where he's not needing a snowmobile or having chains on his 4x4 to get to town would make sense. Find some hobbies and a little travel.

Hey guys, but I like me some mind blowing stories in my games. Hotline Miami, Metal Gead Solid (minus the quirkiness), some indie games, have completely blown me out of the water… they wouldn’t have without writing taken in mind. Plus, games with a story tend to have an ending… can’t play games that never end anymore.

You dont really get a tax deduction on the interest paid on your mortgage if you are taking the standard deduction. The overwhelming majority of the population takes the standard deduction. Guess what.... you still get that standard deduction even after your mortgage is paid off...

Did feminism liberate men? I'd argue no. It just turned the simping to a whole new level and made millionaires out of women who learned to grift the needs of men by starving them of what they needed and then charging them for it. I see way too many simps around me chasing women to believe that men have somehow been liberated.

20:19 I’m not sure what the percentage is, but a significant amount of married men getting out of shape is because all of the time they would have spent working out and at the gym doing dumb shit. Women don’t understand there are only 24 hours in a day. Yet they want a man that makes over six figures, stays ripped, and has all in the time in the world to spend doing dumb shit with them.

He REALLY needs to diversify. What if Bill Gates decides to do something crazy and crashes the company? Also, you can pay someone to do shopping for you. They buy the stuff and just drop it off at your door. Look up grocery delivery services, which ones are available and prices may vary especially out in the sticks.

2:30 i did something similar with paying off my student loan recently and had nothing saved after wanting to pay off my balance complete and I had MULTIPLE surprise financial costs appear in the following month. Thought I had everything budgeted to be paycheck to paycheck to save up again.... I was freaked out because I never been in a position to think I would need to ask for money, work another job or take out of my retirement accounts... Things worked out that I didn't because the costs of everything was much less than it initially was. Gotta always have some type of liquid savings to use even if you can pay off all your debt, that might not be the best option.
