To all Americans! Hear me out rn! 50% of your fruits and 90% of your vegetables come from either Mexico or Canada. Add 25% to your cost at the grocery store on those items. All this will do is cost you way more. You are also all relying on thinking that all republicans in congress or in the senate agree on lowering taxes which historically is not true. You will and I mean will feel the affects of this on your already strained wallets. And not only on food. 80% of your lumber is canadian, 40% of your steel, 45% of your oil, and so on and so forth. You think inflation is high. Add 25% to your bills. It is bad for you in so many more ways than you think. If either of those country retaliates, companies will leave for either/ or, losing jobs, creating the worst financial crisis since 2007-2008.

Most countries charge us tariffs to sell in their country, why shouldn't America do the same, especially if they are American companies giving our good jobs to other countries for cheap labor and then get to sell their products in America without a penalty. I think it was John Deer who recently was going to build the biggest mfg plant ever, like 2 or 3 football fields in Mexico instead of here in America. Trump told them if they do, they will be paying 100%, then 200%, etc.., tariffs until they move back to US. So they are going to build here in the US.:) For every person employed in a good paying job, there are SEVEN other people that benefit (i.e., stores, cleaners, taxis, hotels, etc). Plus, Trump will be removing most of the regulations that are so costly to do biz here in America, so there won't be a need to move mfg to other countries.
