@@danielscott7985 dude, do you know how racist that point of view is? This is the problem when allow and bend into and accept as truth which is not truth at all. Like he says in FAKE WOKE, there is a difference between hate speech and speech that you hate. This whole racism context is so far removed from reality. It used to be that their needed to be more than words that one could point too before calling one racist. Since the beginning of time, people have said dumb and ignorant shit. But it used to be that there were direct actions on could point to that person actually doing actual actions that demonstrated a true will to want to harm that,race/gender. But we live in a world of degrees. I having grew up in a city with rural America no more than 15 minutes in Any direction. It took me years later, to understand this. I became a manager of a Domino's Pizza, and to help a friend who was losing $6k a month. His store was in Compton and I lived in the burbs of Phoenix and it was 1986. I walked into a serious culture shift. It was the biggest education in my life. But at that time, I came to know grown men in their late 50's who had never been more than 50 miles from their home and only knew the urban city street life. I thought that was wild till I realized that I know country people who practically never visited even a small city less than 30,000 population. So we have people at both sides of the spectrum, who's only life experience with people who are way different than their life experience. If that is the case, how do they make assumptions of what those people are like without real life experience. They make it based on the stories of folks they know, who naturally gave their own bias on their perspective of what happened, and then you have media and the narratives it drives. So, this woke cancel culture that immediately will label a person racist, who might truly say some dumb and ignorant shit, but it's not based on experience, but what they had been told by media and here say by their community. And this is the problem. It used to be we would at least try to have conversations to determine is this person ignorant or really racist. An ignorant person may say some offensive stuff, but they also have morals that prevent them from actually physically taking actions to harm other humans. It's the ones who actively and with intent that go the next step. They are NOT ignorant, but racist. They are true believers. But what's the harm. The harm is, when you automatically deem a person as such, with no further conversation to find the truth, today people are being actually cancelled in life, losing jobs and relationships all because someone made a snap judgement because they were offended. Well, the net result of that is over time you create that which you actually say you detest. If people who are not legitimately racist, get called that because you became offended, and there is no ability to be restored, and then actual harm comes to them and those that they love, you are going to create racist of those people, because you have now affirmed ALL the misinformation from lack of actual life experience, and now have that life experience to justify their ignorance. And no one that has heard Tom and his heart and reason for doing even that song, would ever say the stuff you just supposed. That is one of the things the experience of managing that store, being the only white man in the store and being the manager, people are people wherever you are. The craziest issue I has to figure out in running a store that was losing $6k a month and having never lived or dealt with the culture of South Central. You know the real risk of any job having to do with anything remotely requiring you to drive and deliver pizza in those neighborhoods at night. I had a problem in staffing I had never encountered before. You had to have a car and insurance. But you had to have another thing I had never, ever encountered anywhere else than or since. You had to have the balls to do that. You know what I was forced to do? The only people in my employment options for drivers were illegals with documentation and small time drug peddlers. But you know what learned in that process, I learned to listen and communicate. And most were making choices that they felt they had to do to survive until an opportunity presented itself for them to walk away. I learned so much in my one year of doing that. I learned because of societal and cultural rules, what I might consider as common sense did not translate to another very different area. My perfect example was where I grew up, if I saw two people, whether I knew them or not, were starting to get in a heated argument or one physically starting to dominate another, to intercede to create cooler heads. You don't do that in the hood. You call the police. If you being a good Samaritan fell moved to include yourself, you do so at your own risk too many stories of them both turning on you or quick draw McGraw gunplay and you are bleeding out in the street. You don't be a smart ass and ' show ' your piece thinking others get the message of you need to chill. In those streets, you better not show unless your ready to use. And that a policy that will work in 85 percent of communities, will work in these, cause there are unwritten codes of conduct, like no snitching that are real and run deep. I learned a lifetime in one year. And I was still able to have the store break even every month by the time I left.

I'm no Ben Shapiro fan or Tom MacDonald Fan, but I heard the song and theres nothing really "shocking" about the song when you compare it to trending rap songs on the radio. In that respect I agree with what Tom is saying. Rap used to have mutliple lanes and variety, but the radio and media only want the gangsta rap. We all know conscious rap exists with insanely talented people, but radio won't suport it. Most good music doesn't get mainstream attention across genre lines anyway. Also Ben is a polarizing figure because his rhetoric is widely considered anti-black. If you listen to how he speaks about our community as a whole, it's rather vile. I think that's where the controversy stems from. From the little I heard from Tom MacDonald, it seems like he kinda makes the same song over and over again. It's just a bunch of right wing talking points over a rap beat for his white 50&up audience. Go to his comments section and its the same comment over and over admitting that. Dee 1 is a rapper that's been speaking about the content in rap for years, and he's finally getting attention so these conversations are being had. I hope these discussions continue.

That said, neither one of these two have earned the right to be martyrs for Hip-Hop, especially on the 50th Anniversary. I am trying real hard not to do a diss track on Ben Shapiro. Now that he has entered this arena, he is fair game and could get these bars... especially as someone who has negatively exploited the culture all these years. I get this is a real issue, but these two are not being "suppressed" when they started out with this huge megaphone and other... advantages. This isn't their struggle, by any means. Tom is far from racist... and he knows that it's not Meg herself orher than the fact she is OK working with those people

You see, guys, the deal is you choose to disrespect communities and beliefs. There's no room for that in music when self expression turns into insults and hate, you dig your grave. Your song could mean everything to you and be successful in your own mind, but in a world that craves peace, your thw epitome of get your act together. Respect others to deserve respect. When I heard the lyrics, you lost my vote and empathy both as an artist and human being.

Every few years ts the same "whoa is me" the industry is doing me bad. Like they havent ALWAYS done that. Why more arent truly being indie is insane. Is it fear or failure and need someone to blame the failure on etc. I dont know but this repeat dialog on gatekeeprs is getting old honestly.

Who is a true indie that makes number one and makes a lot of money ? Now you gotta distribute everything on your own , can you give me examples of who is capable of doing absolutely everything and is a household name or Atleast as popular as Tom?

@@heythere6983 YOU DONT REALLY THINK they re true indies do you? for years artist have played on folks emotions to love indies and not even know they were on a major or funded in some way. Macklemore is prime example. Shapiros has advertisers and other funing, we dont nothing really about the true background of "TOM" but its all good if you think they are finding cushion change to make these enormous pushes online and itunes, youtube etc. by themselves. Cute. Each their on brother.

Words can have immense power, so I am careful with what I consume. Even small things can have a big impact if repeated enough times.

Tom really acting like being #1 on itunes is the same like being #1 on billboard 100😂😂.. bro #1 on a platform mainly known for ringtones and user base that are pridominately damn near senior citizens 🤣
