One thing not mentioned is that Urgot support can actually help a lot by killing jungle creeps, as his passive has a fixed high damage against monsters. Specially the scuttle crab, urgot can do it very quickly. Furthermore, a lot of engage tanks like Leona, Shen, Nautilus are being played right now and Urgot counters them as his passive does %health damage.

if you buy hydra first, it double stacks the shred passive on cleaver, but doesn't if you buy cleaver first. Since cleaver is the better 1st item, build it 1st anyways, and once you do buy hydra; sell cleaver sell hydra undo undo and since the hydra undoes first, its now in inventory before cleaver so the double stack shred bug will work

Doing off meta stuff at high mmr tends to be different than doing off meta stuff at low mmr. One one hand, its low mmr its a coin flip and people gonna throw anyways. On the other hand, ad yuumi doesnt scale.

​@@Takkunda That's what people get mistaken about when they talk about meta. Meta simply means mainstream, whilst offmeta as a strategy does exist it's just not mainstream. The reason offmeta is shunned is because people slump incompatible builds with offmeta playstyles. Take Fiddlesticks support for example. It's not terrible, he has a fear/silence, sustain. Played right he can be solid. Offmeta. Yuumi jungle is bad, can't really clear camps, can only really act as a second support but then you're taking exp from another laner who is meant to be solo and giving enemy jungle more gold. "Offmeta". One has strategy and provides benefits whilst the other doesn't, but both under the same label for no good reason other than stigma.

LS has been playing nasus support recently into high mobility ADC matchups like Kalista and Zeri, using the wither to cripple them and the insane base damage and armour shred on his E for poke and all-ins. It’s very good with ADCs that build lethality like Varus and MF. Comet is the most common keystone, allowing for poke with E. He pretty much never builds a mythic but builds tank (fimbulwinter, frozen heart, demonic embrace, etc). There’s a bit of gameplay and explanations from LS, it’s quite cool.

You mentioned finding a way to make Aatrox support work: Aatrox is viable with cc heavy adcs (jhin and ashe) as Aatrox is really good at chaining cc after someone is hit once. I take aftershock, and go evenshroud into teams that can’t dodge as easily, and chemtank into high mobility teams. Your job is just to create as much chaos in fights as you can, with your passive healing giving you extra tankiness (kinda like Leona w). Overall, 7/10 support. There are WAY worse out there (lookin at you, khazix)

Im not a masters player nor do i even do it in ranked myself but support aatrox with glacial augment evenshroud is really good imo. You hit Q you Proc evenshroud and glacial augment making the other Qs easier to hit. I use an E Q glacial augment so they cant dash out then W. I go full tank because your playing as a support. Runes glacial augment hexflash Biscuits (yes i know aatrox doesnt use mana but all the others are bad for supports) Cosmic insight then triumph tenacity because you will still be playing for resets. Now time for support riven.

I'm just confused why the r flash manoevre wasn't used even once. But i guess it's just more useful on top urgot to put yourself in the middle of their team. For those that don't know. While you're in the pulling animation of your ult, you can flash forwards to guaranteed proc the aoe fear on multiple people, setting up a good flip and a lot of damage. One of the strongest combos he has in terms of teamfights

To be fair, I always thought Urgot on top felt weird, it is okay in the lane and weird fighting in mid game. In bot your abilities will do AoE so it is better and it is good setting up traps fighting various champs. I can see it working as support.

I actually played Urgot support way back when smite enchantments were still a thing. I just played it for the sake of being off meta because I love off meta picks. I was just playing casually back then so I didn't actually bother to know any tricks on how it could actually work. I actually partnered it with smite lol because I thought that if me and my jungler pressed smite at the same time, then the chances of our Baron and Drake being stolen by the enemy team are almost impossible. But I never played through that idea so my smite was literally used only on teamfights. I want to play Urgot support again but I am going to treat it more seriously now. I also like urgot support because I think it can give the enemy botlane some kind of fear factor because of my ultimate alone. If they are low health they will be paranoid about my ult ahahaha.

Long cooldown = if you miss it use it before a fight your champion will be 50% less useful in the fight. Not having it up feels terrible for urgot supp, even if the cooldown isnt minutes long - it is still very impactful.

No definitely don't do this. You Max w because it becomes a toggle with no cooldown. The damage on W is also way better burst than q because q damage ends when you hit it, w damage combos with legs and lets you pop them all. You must Max E as well 2nd as it's your only engage and escape, where as q is not vital. Do the exact opposite of what you said and you will climb trust me All high elo urgot players - Korean, lethally, support etc any of them do this skill order. There is a reason for it.
