The modeling world is so warped and mentally unhealthy. Be comfortable in your own skin. Look in the mirror every day, but REALLY see your self. You are UNQUE. Tyra Banks’ legacy in pop culture is certainly a mixed bag, but I honestly think the extent to which many people vilify her nowadays can be a tad excessive. There’s an appropriate time to hold her to account for some of the harmful impact she had on her reality show contestants, talk show guests, etc., but I honestly also believe a lot of her intentions were well-meaning at the same time, and I think it’s okay to acknowledge both sides.

It’s strange that she said she was doing that for all women to love themselves but that contradicts what she said to Yaya and Tocarra during season 3 of America’s Next Top Model. Tyra told Yaya that she wasn’t special and wasn’t good enough and she also told Tocarra that she was too fat. Tocarra and Yaya were the best in the entire series
@violetgirl19965 жыл бұрын
Tyra never says you're fat the end. She says I think you are absolutely beautiful but the reality of this industry is that people are going to judge on your looks. So you have to make some sacrifices and keep in shape but not starve yourself. As for Yaya, she was coming off as arrogant to the judges and also other contestants at the time, so Tyra told her to fix her attitude or people will not hire her. Every great mentor tells you the truth and how the industry works. You can succeed on their teachings, if you listen and take the lesson.
@JLPerryTV5 жыл бұрын
violetgirl1996 Yaya was never arrogant to the judges. Everybody on KZbin and Facebook agreed with Yaya and it was very hypocritical for Tyra to berate her when Tyra was wearing an afro that week. Yaya actually addressed this not too long ago on her Instagram. As for Tocarra, Tyra had the power to change the industry and make it better for people like Tocarra but she didn’t against it.
