The 10 Dollar Bill features Alexander Hamilton. He was one of the chief architects for the financial system in the United States, which is the reason why the country has a universal currency. According to some historians, had the system not been in place certain state governments would have made their own currencies which would make trade and commerce more difficult.

Regarding the "Non-Political figures" part: In Hungary, before the Hungarian Forint, we had the so-called "Pengő" (it really devalued between the late 19th and the mid 20th century that's why we have the Forint now) one of which notes featured Endre Ady who was (and still is) one of the most beloved and famous Hungarian poets. And backstory for the bird at 28:51: You can see the portrait of King Matthias Corvinus. His family's coat of arms had a raven on it.

I really love your ideas for updating the bills! Here in England, we've been gradually updating to the new notes for about 5 years. They're really excellent, they have braille features, along with artwork, historical quotes and a plethora of security features. They actually held a public vote for who we'd like to see on the bank notes. They gave us categories for each individual bank note eg. politics, sciences, arts etc. and then we voted on the most popular nominations. In the end, we chose Churchill, Jane Austen, Turner and Alan Turing.

Alexander Hamilton is on the $10. He's a founding father but not a president he helped create the Constitution and also set up the Treasury Department which is why he has the treasury building on his note. Benjamin Franklin was not a president but did a LOT in his lifetime that aided the US. I do agree the US currency needs to be updated and it would be nice to not put political figures (which all of these are) on every bill. It's almost laughable that we haven't updated this system since idk early 1900's I believe is the last time they were redesigned. The $100 is the only one that was "redesigned" with the security strip. And regardless of everything being on a card physical currency is still needed. Also love the sarcasm when it came to "there are women last time we checked in the US". Completely agree. Last time I checked I'm a female and I was born and raised in these states lol.

You should have looked into the american currency just like the you did with the other countries, their is more to it than just what you just see with a quick glance. I guess we should also make ours more colorful but i mean the paper bill is dying and has been for awhile. Also Alexander hamiliton and Benjamin Franklin are featured on Bills which are not presidents.

@@greedgod5827 They might but cash has been pretty unchanging the last 20 years because of the rise of Debit and Credit. There was like this big ordeal 5 or so years ago where they were gonna replace Andrew Jackson on the 20 with a black person or a woman , like Washington carver or Harriet Tubman, but nothing came if it because not many people cared enough to make the change.

Another note about features for the visually impaired: some countries make their banknotes different sizes so that they can be easily distinguished. eg £5 note is smaller than £10 which is smaller than the £20.

Rifts does US currency dirty, in his other videos he does alot of research into other currency and the images printed on them, but doesnt even check who is printed on the bills. As for changing the bills, greenbacks are too iconic in my mind to be changed.

A fun fact about the Canadian $100 bill is that it smells like maple syrup. The Bank of Canada has discredited this saying that the material of the note under heat may make the bills smell like this and that they haven't actually had an embedded scent placed in them but many Canadians still smell the maple. Every time I hold a $100 Canadian bill it's a battle not to give it a sniff

Just a quick correction, US banknotes are actually made from a mixture of cotton and linen to give them a unique feel, though the aspects of more representation and features for the differently abled I agree with
