Why U.S. investors see China's DeepSeek as a threat

Tech stocks plummeted Monday as investors raised concerns about advancements in Chinese artificial intelligence. Last week, the Chinese company DeepSeek released R1, an AI model similar to ChatGPT that costs significantly less to develop. CBS News contributor JD Durkin joins "The Daily Report" to examine the stock market's response.

CBS JD Durkin testing DeepSeek on China's history is just dumb, when he knew full well the expected outcome......no comments about DeepSeek ability to solve complex math problems, surpassing competitors ? ......So JD is just using a complex AI tool to ask politically sensitive questions, expecting an actual response ?.....very disappointing reporting.....the other networks are more balanced.

China can make almost everything cheaper and equally good. Expensive does not equal to good. In America everything is expensive because they have many corporate layers who earn good salaries like those who can talk all day without doing anything tangible. It is a threat to the profits of the Oligopoly that dominates AI landscape. Deepseek will enable new entrants to this market at a lower cost with fewer and cheaper GPUs and lower running costs. Deepseek utilizes LLM based on GPT. where GPT is owned by OpenAI like other chatbot deepseek is a cheap version and a copy of chatGPT where china are known for copy produce and sell for a cheaper price. 😅
