Great update. Our forefathers NEVER intended for our military to be involved in foreign affairs. Only to be in response to direct threats, not stomping around the world securing resources of another country for corporations to exploit in the name of "democracy". Look up ISW's report on the Baltics in 2018.

I'm German born just after the end of WW2 and I also have seen the US Military more as an occupier and not a friend . I have served the German Army in 1983 due to drafting - not volontary. However, even in the German military they were a few voices who didn't like the US being in Germany. The French had left, the Brit's took their time to leave but in the end they did. Only the USA is still in Germany. One reason is that they NEED this Base in Ramstein as staging ground for other operations. There is nothing against haveing a freindly Relationchip with the USA and many buisness is conducted between the 2, but the military should leave. The current Conflict in Ukraine began in 2014 and was initiated by the USA with the aim to use this country as a staging ground to prepare for war with Russia. The aim of the USA is to break up Russia in many smaller States, up to 200, and then take over or at least create influence by giving them aid to develop in exchange for natural resources. It's those natural resources the USA is after. Greed and Arroganz are bad Advisors and in the end the USA will loose their grip on all of Europe.

The goal of the USA is to subjugate and subordinate Eurasia, its only true rivals are elements within Eurasia. Britain, Germany and France are dominated as is Japan. Drone like vassal nations useful to recruit to subjugate the larger more powerful nations of Eurasia.

This war opened the eyes of most of the global south, to see how all of these great powers (Germany, France, Italy, England) are nothing but vassal states to the Americans. The final nail was the destruction of Nord Stream and how Germany was being so quiet, like a beaten dog. Americans DESTROYED the German (and European) economies by removing the cheap reliable Russian energy which has since destroying Germany and all of Europe and NOBODY in Europe is saying anything. So now you buy American LNG for 3-5 times the price. It's amazing to watch all of this happening.

I know that Americans don't like to be reminded of this, but I will remind you that during the Cuban crisis, Khrushchev demanded that Kennedy remove the American missiles stationed in Turkey as a condition for the withdrawal of Russian missiles from Cuba, and Kennedy agreed. But the Americans are told that Khrushchev was simply afraid of Kennedy))
@cliftonortat51311 күн бұрын
The existence of the Jupiter missiles was kept classified and not revealed to the American public until decades after the Cuban Missile Crisis had passed. So Krushchev must have stayed quiet because he was afraid of Kennedy, or maybe his silence was another condition of their agreement. In any case, we were taught in school that the Soviets started the Cuban Missile Crisis, but in reality US/NATO was the aggressor the whole time. The fact that our government flat out lied about it makes me distrust anything Washington says about Russia now....

Most of the US population are not really aware of the root causes for this war. They only see the latest headlines. Something like, “Mean old Putin attacked a helpless democracy.” They have no idea about the geopolitics behind this whole thing. As if Putin just woke up one day and said, “Hey let’s go invade this peaceful country for fun.” They forget that the US has been trying to put Russia into a corner since the end of the USSR. This is just the most recent iteration for this activity. When the USSR broke up, the West had a wonderful opportunity to create a new partnership. Instead of doing that, they decided to see if they could smash Russia into pieces. It’s complete lunacy. There is no reason why we can’t have a peaceful partnership, that’s beneficial to everyone, with Russia. It’s all made-up BS to keep the military-industrial complex going. We have to have a war to fight. Orwell speaks about this in 1984; the nonstop production of means of warfare, which is never intended to benefit anyone. You build it, blow it up, and make more. As a human race, aren’t we tired of this yet?
@mrsoisauce901712 күн бұрын
Let’s not forget that it was Bill Clinton and Boris Yeltsin (forgive me if I misspelled the name) who tried to bridge the gap between the US and Russia. But Yeltsin tried an admittedly shitty version of capitalism that ended up fracturing Russia further, which led to him resorting back to old tactics of police brutality and then handing the presidency over to current president Vladimir Putin. George W. Bush recognized this and started withdrawing support for Russia. So Russia did this to themselves because they were too stuck in the past. Oh, and for the record, NATO being right next to Russia was not the reason why Russia invaded Ukraine. If they were really that worried, they wouldn’t have been trying to take the country because it’s incredibly boneheaded of Russia to invade Ukraine, which is a country that’s already surrounded by NATO member states. That’s literally just Russia moving their border to NATO’s doorstep, which gives Russia literally the exact same problem they would allegedly be trying to avoid, especially when said invasion convinces fucking Sweden and Finland to join NATO after years of neutrality, which only extends the Russia-NATO border even further. Imperialism and the goal of restoring Soviet-era borders is all this is. And if you don’t believe that statement, consider the fact that Putin IN HIS OWN WORDS has stated before that the worst thing that has ever happened in his lifetime was the fall of the Soviet Union. Hell, he’s even said rhetoric in the past alluding to Ukraine, along with other former Soviet nations, essentially having no right to exist because they’re all supposed to be Russian territory. Everything Russia is doing right now is an attempt to restore Soviet-era borders and maybe even win a few extra territories along the way. Yes, I do believe the American military industrial complex has gotten WAY too overinflated, but that does not mean we should let Russia off the hook for blatantly disregarding another nation’s sovereignty because it’s still butthurt about 1991

You have expressed more less what I have been saying in many discussions. I may add that after the 2014 putsch, the Ukrainian government embarked on an anti Russian policy against its Russian population resulting in autonomy demand by these people. It was rejected by the Ukrainian government, which then started the war, long before 2022 (with about 8,000 dead in Donbas and Luhansk).

How you are so stupid is beyond me. Putin runs a criminal empire that control Russia. That is why there is no independent media in Russia. That is why Alexei Navalny was killed. Putin once had control of Ukraine and he wants it back. Unfortunately for Putin, the people decided they had enough of his corrupt control of their country so they decided to go in a true democratic direction. Ukraine is not controlled by the US. The US is just supporting people who want a democracy and not be ruled by the criminal organization of Putin. This is also true of all NATO countries. The missiles in Cuba was resolved only because USA also ended their own nuclear missiles settup in Alaska. It was not a one sided victory, it was tit for tat towards peace: de-escalation as it should always be done, not a blind escalation. But USA in the 60s were not as proud and dure of their grasp on the world as the top dog as they were by the end of the 90s. This attitude was their undoing, as it lead them to Afghanistan, Irak, Syria then now Ukraine and Israel. The nations fed up with their foreign interferences both military and economical have reached a critical mass, enough to push back the other way around, and that's gaining traction, a lasting movement that will culminate in the next decade or so, to create a brand new World Order...

Putin stated his conditions for even starting negotiations on the basis of Istanbul quite clearly. 1. Full Ukrainian withdrawal from the regions that are included in Russian constitution; 2. Istanbul also included restrictions on Ukrainian army armaments and number of personal. Russians categorically rejected any freeze of the conflict Korea-style. Russia’s analysis of the situation in February 2022 was undoubtedly considerably more pertinent than that of the West. They knew that a Ukrainian offensive against the Donbass was underway and that it could endanger the government. Vladimir Putin’s stubborn clinging to the Minsk Agreements was poorly understood in Russia.

Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity. In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas. If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy. Zelensky, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements. Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time Russia's national security was compromised once NATO began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining NATO was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns. 20th September, 2021: Ukraine launched military drills with US and NATO. NATO is not a defensive alliance. NATO illegally bombed Yugoslavia (a direct violation of the U.N. Charter). We should never forget what they did to Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq etc. Who blew up the pipeline causing an environmental disaster? Zelensky banned all opposition and arrested a leading priest. Zelensky tried to invoke article 5 under false pretenses. Remember the incident in Poland. Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. Poroshenko said, “Our children will go to schools and kindergartens-theirs will hide in the basements”. Russians will never forget the 2014 Odessa massacre. The whole world needs to know about it. Why was Denis Kireev eliminated? He was a member of Ukraine's negotiating team during the peace negotiations. He wanted to help his country. Ukraine has a hit list. They target artists, journalists and ordinary citizens. Hundreds of children are on this list. 13 year old Faina Savenkova was placed on this list. Pink Floyd's Roger Waters is on this list. Jimmy Dore (American stand-up comedian, podcaster) and Aaron Maté (Canadian writer and journalist) are on this list. There is evidence that Ukrainian troops have been indiscriminately shelling civilians in Donbas (they used petal mines and targeted areas where there was no military presence). The azov troops trapped in the azovstal steelworks in Mariupol used human shields. They refused to allow civilians to leave despite of humanitarian corridors being present. Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave. Ukraine has committed many acts of terrorism (car bombs and other forms of assassination). Darya Dugina (journalist) R.I.P. The first terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed the truck driver and the individuals in the adjacent car (innocent civilian victims). The second terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed two parents and severely injured their young daughter. I have done a lot of research and it took me a long time to write this comment. I have stated a lot of facts and I have given my honest opinion. I have provided a brief summary of events that took place. In order to explain this whole situation in great detail, a book would need to be written. In 2008, Russia intervened in Georgia to protect the Russian minority then being bombed by its government, as confirmed by the Swiss ambassador, Heidi Tagliavini, who was responsible for investigating this event. In 2014, many voices were raised in Russia to demand intervention when the new regime in Kiev had engaged its army against the civilian population of the five autonomist oblasts (Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Lugansk and Donetsk) and applied a fierce repression. In 2022, it could be expected that the population of Russia would not understand the government’s inaction, after no efforts were made from the Ukrainian and Western sides to enforce the Minsk Agreements.

This is well sourced and succinct. Nice job. I don’t see how anyone who is objective can watch this and not understand Russia’s serious security concern about NATO’s enlargement and encirclement.

@@lauriperamaki5354 It's going to get worse Mr. Rutte hates people and loves money. He sells out to the highest bidder, has no morals. F'ed up the Netherlands for his own personal gain. Is not competent at all. No idea how he got his job there. He is a crazy school teacher, became president and now he is the secretary general of NATO. How could this happen? Something stinks, this guy will steer us all right into a WW3.

Russia will not agree to a cease-fire unless Ukraine formally agrees to transfer sovereignty of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Crimea. Because of this, the war continue indefinitely.

Odessa and Kharkov also matter since these cities always were more Russian than Ukraine. And Ukrainian government banned the Russian language at schools and universities which violates these people's rights.
