I like Google calendar because I can add notifications for events and throw in reminders that come up on my phone, however I haven't yet found a way of writing my daily to-do list that works for me. I might try paper planning just for that. Thank you for a great video!

like what you say, very true and your speaking speed and tone sound comfortable. great video! I'm searching for a digital planner vs paper planner, cons vs pros. trying to make a decision. I saw many videos but your video convinces me. very good points.

I agree 100%. When I went back to a paper calendar, I remembered more. “Think in Ink”

Definitely one of the most well thought out and well explained topic! Your video is a great resource for those who are planning to do the transition from a paper planner to a digital one. One of the greatest disadvantages that we are affronting now, is the fact that in order to use the complete tools from many note-taking apps, you have to pay a monthly fee. That’s why I get back to the paper planner. Good Notes is a powerful application for note-taking, but I refuse to pay for things that were free in the past.

Interesting take, I agree w/you too. A paper planner w/digital support is the best. You can always scan your paper pages into Evernote and have a digital archive of your paper planner.

Which pen(s) do you use with your Full Focus Planner? I'm struggling to find one that doesn't ghost/bleed through.

For me, while I agree with everything you say about paper, I still have a foot in the digital world, using Apple's Calendar app. But, like you, I can write faster than I type, so most of my inputs into my "in box" are paper notes. Thanks for sharing.

My problem with the paper planner is , a)i belong to a south asian household,so there is a concern for privacy,as my family is too eager to have a peek into my personal life. b)i have my phone with me everywhere and all the time,so digital task list is more available to me then a paper to-do list. if anyone has a solution to both my problems stated above,Please reply to this comment!

I’ll probably be doing a video on this soon, but you may want to look into Moleskine’s pocket notebooks (3.5" x 5.5") they’re about the size of a phone so you can always have it with you. I’ve run into the same issue you’re experiencing and so a small notebook has been a big help.

I have not found a planner (digital or paper) system to bring me peace. I think if both my phone and computer were Mac, I would literally live in iPHone reminders. However, I'm iPhone and NOT a Mac so finding any kind of tech solution between the two isn't good. I tried Google Tasks but the fact you can't move items between lists was a HUGE fail for me. I might be back on the trend toward paper but to be honest... I hate having to write and rewrite repeating things. :/ I also dont like when lists become all ugly when you check things off. LOL

Have you tried MS ToDo? It's pretty cool for task lists. I do my brain dumps there and then I use a paper planner now too and I love it!

I am fully convinced, there is a lot of clutter and also a digital planner is less present and can be easily hidden away in a computer/phone imo

Yes. I like digital planning but I feel like checking it on my phone is a hassle that sometimes takes me back. I am very much a geek for making pretty notes and having a physical item sort of satisfies that preference in a way. I still rely heavily on Google Calendar for big picture stuff, but I think I might need to start using a paper planner again for daily tasks.

I agree with 2 of the PROS of having a paper planner: 1) there are not distractions. 2) it doesn't run out of battery so you can use it whenever you need it. ( I actually came to watch this video as I had to stop my digital planning because my tablet was running out of battery and I had to put it to charge so that I can continue in a while). I would add another PRO to physical planners: 3) they are healthier for the eyes. Now, I disagree with all the other CONS of digital planning if you have the right tools. For example, even if you can have a large "To Do" list in a digital planner, you can shortlist it and only put the main "To do"s in each relevant day, so you can still stay focused on the present day tasks. Also, if you have a tablet with a native pen, then a lot of the experiences and benefits are similar to the ones you get from physically writing on paper. And not all the pens need to be charged in order to work. For example, the writing function of the S pens from Samsung works without needing to charge them. The rechargeable versions of the S pens are for additional functions besides writing. Personally, I prefer to have a bit of both, though I feel more inclined towards digital planning.

This reminds me of all those math teachers telling me not to get used to a calculator in case one might not be available when I "really" need it. Yet, they never seemed to be able to teach without one and failed miserably and training my brain to do any equations. Focus: Organizing tasks is monumentally easier with apps and your focus is dependent on your capacity for self-discipline. (That planner was designed and printed from a computer program...you know that right?) Distracting: This is simply behavioral. If you were used to writing for pleasure, you're still capable of writing for productivity. It's exactly the same for tech and relies solely on your discipline or lack thereof. Speed: Learning how to type as well as you write is a discipline, not some universal trait. Running out of battery power is the users fault, not the tech. It's be the same thing as forgetting your paper or pen. Memory: Suggesting scientific research (studies) without citation isn't surprising here. Further, Mnemonic memorization has been proven to work across multiple methods including digital domains. arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1305/1305.2609.pdf ________ Digital tech affords others the opportunity to build off of your work without waiting for you to rummage through your disorganized pile of papers and unintelligible scribbles that only you and your creepy identical twin can discern. People can search entire volumes of data instantly using control find, there's no correlative with paper. There's no back-up for paper. If you're recording anything important, it disappears if you lose it. It constricts data sharing because only the folks using that piece of paper have access to it. And this is probably better since their ideas are likely predicated on the same flawed logic that confines them to antiquated methods of recording information. So ask yourself an honest question. If the information in your notes or scheduler was truly important to you, why would you risk the myriad pitfalls that paper puts forward? Change can be scary, but the nature of tech is rapid adoption. Accessibility is a primary principle in program development and, if you haven't looked around, computers are ubiquitous. Using paper to record information doesn't make you unique, it divorces you from the reality you live in and exposes your staunch opposition to it's benefits. *No handwritten notes were taken on paper at ay point while critiquing this video. Spell check, however, was used often
