I’ve had the OBD Fusion app for a few years now. Like it very much and can do a lot with it. On my 99’ F350 I don’t have a transmission temperature gauge and the company was very responsive and helpful in coming up with a Trans Temp pid I could use. It took us a couple of times to get it right but works great. Good to know when your pulling a 5th wheel up steep winding roads in the summer. I wound up putting a bigger transmission cooler on my truck. I would have spent much more on a new transmission. With the gauge reading 225+ a couple times ( before bigger cooler) I knew when I had to pull over and watch it it cool down. I learned also temperatures don’t necessarily go down going downhill in a lower gear. Good to know and I would have never known without an app like this. I use a Bluetooth OBD2 with what they recommend. No fiddling around with WiFi connections. Now on my old 05’ Town Car I just emailed about the possibility of an Oil Pressure pid. Don’t like idiot lights. Nathan quickly got back to me and said there isn’t a pid output for oil pressure. I guess OBD2 is for emissions

What is your OBD scan tool that uses fusion software? I have the ELM 327 but it sometimes is hard to connect other times it at random drops out.... which is the best?

@@Mike_S_Swift Thank you very much!, I just bought a 2021 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 and unbelievably it doesn’t appear to have a transmission cooler so its Transmission and transaxle temps that I am interested in monitoring more closely thanks again!
@Mike_S_Swift4 жыл бұрын
@@gerryjimenez28 you may have to contact tech support at fusion for a PID for the transmission cooler function. Ford had one but the tech support guy had to help me set it up. You might check with them to see if Toyota is putting out a PID for the trans temp. Think PID= Processor ID

I have this app as well and I’m just learning how to use it... why I wanted this app is because I want to see the cylinder balance rate. But I can’t seem to get it working on the app, I have it set up but it just sits at 0

Maxx Power not all pids are output on some vehicles Check with OBD Fusion to see about your vehicle. They worked with me on a transmission temp pid. Hopefully they will be able to help with an Oil Pressure pid for an old town car

How did you make the template
@jaccbbh5 жыл бұрын
trent mcvaugh it’s not a template. The display can be manipulated with a long press. It’s pretty intuitive really. I’m sure there are templates or at least settings lists on some super creative gauge clusters- thanks for watching

You have a very good speaking voice which makes your video is very easy to understand. You put it together very professionally. I have one question, does the OBD Fusion software offer gauges for (inclination, declination and altimeter)?(inclination, declination, and altimeter)(inclination, declination, and altimeter)

The obd is only WiFi connectivity. On the android it can be connected through Bluetooth it seems. I think the Bluetooth might be more reliable.
@jaccbbh5 жыл бұрын
jaco erasmus yes it’s true that Bluetooth is one option. I prefer using the WIFI for the PIDs and using the Bluetooth for audio. The iPad can do both simultaneously, as evidenced in the video. Let me know if the Android can do Bluetooth audio and Bluetooth diagnostics at the same time. That would be amazing!!

Can your pair two IPads with one OBDII device?
@WrathCustoms4 жыл бұрын
Wow that's a great idea. I’m not sure but I know OBD fusion is a tremendous resource and very willing to advance the software they build to meet the needs of the client. I’ve never tried to connect 2 iPads although I can recognize the added value.
