This video is perfect. I have a Valeton GP 200 arriving this week and have a gig this weekend. I even also play a Takamine G series. I can always fall back on my Boss AD-8, but would love to use the Valeton as an all around live processor.

I love it. It works great for all of my electrics, & Acoustics. I have 22 instruments these days, & have patches for all of them on this unit. Electric, Acoustic, or Bass. This thing hits it out of the park on all of them. You are going to love it. If you don't like the factory presets, its easy to get a sound you like from scratch. Just takes some time to dial it all in.

@@MUSICIANGeeK Awesome. It really seems that way. When I saw it has an acoustic preamp I got pretty excited. I love the idea that I can run electric, acoustic, and bass through one rig - and not even a pedalboard with a bunch of cables running everywhere (which I have done).

@MUSICIANGeeK I'm a follower since I've discovered your first GP 200 video. Your explanations are very understandable, and I can understand your English pretty well! I've realized that some generic effects are based on Boss' pedals. Did you get it? Thanks for your answer, have a nice week.

Interesting. I've just bought one of these, so when it arrives, I'll find out how it sounds with my guitar/amp. Thanks.

It's a great unit. Just remember to turn of the amp & cabinet blocks when going into the input of a amp. If you have a effects loop, & you go on that way, you can use the amp block as a pre amp the same way you would with a distortion/overdrive pedal, but again, make sure to turn off the cabinet block. Thanks for watching/commenting, & if you have not yet already, please subscribe.

I’m planning to buy this, can you use acoustic cab or sim and low the volume from the volume knob of cab or effect? I wanna use a little bit of acoustic cab effect but I think the volume knob is gonna drop the master volume
@MUSICIANGeeKАй бұрын
Yes, you can absolutely do that & adjust the amounts of cab sim. For sure.

All things considered - it’s not terrible for set lists that have rock acoustic songs sprinkled in for your typical bar band. Would I prefer to use the Martin 12 string? Sure, but sometimes it’s not worth lugging around. Most of the audience doesn’t give a rip or even notice.

Absolutely. It all depends on what the situation is. Thanks for watching/commenting.

Wondering... Could you run your acoustic through the sims to get a more specific tone? I have an old Zoom A3(something like that) i use and it makes you select a type of acoustic guitar to emulate. So im curious if that would work similarly. Looking at getting one of of these units. Really to use for acoustic live, and switch to electric as needed. I can see the ac pre working well as a basis then adding my usual effects on top of it.
@MUSICIANGeeK2 ай бұрын
I am sure that you can run the acoustic through the acoustic sims to get a more specific tone. Have not tried that, as I though that the AC Pre would take care of any needs on a actual Acoustic needs for myself.
@sirnatanielson2 ай бұрын
@@MUSICIANGeeK makes sense. That's the route I would go anyways. My plugged in tone generally sounds good so I just like sweeten it up a bit. My buddy plans to get me a bunch of IRs he's got anyways, so I'll probably use those anyways. I'll have to try the sims with mine and see if it does anything special. I have a feeling it'll be like my current modeler built in (which I don't use anyways)

Always has a problem about most acoustic simulators, it has a static siund when ever you dont use a pre-amp and cab
@MUSICIANGeeK2 ай бұрын
Interesting. I actually never really use them, so technically don't know much about them. Thanks for the info. Cheers.

Man, that acoustic guitar sounds like crap. Terribly piezo heavy sound, even u turn on the ac simulator, still a meh. Lets listen to the electric guitar. There are some useful presets for the electric guitar. I dont remember, did you use the neck pickup split?
@MUSICIANGeeK9 ай бұрын
For the acoustic simulator, I used a Gibson Melody Maker with a single EMG Humbucker in the bridge. I think the acoustic preamp is good, but hate the acoustic simulator. I actually never heard a acoustic simulator that I did like actually.
@ymelfilm9 ай бұрын
@@MUSICIANGeeK me neither. I hate all of them . I read it is impossible to generate a real acoustic sound and then, u ll never have the feel - string tension difference, gauge thickness is not there,so d different physical features dont let u go close enough. Sadly, the pitch shifter is even worse. It can be valetone, mooer, hotone, flamma, ampero, whatever: their pitch shifter suck like hell. A bad joke. Oh, headrush mx 5 sucks too. U hardly can find tests about their pitch shifters. Wondering why? Most of them are sponsored reviews even they state they are not..
@MUSICIANGeeK9 ай бұрын
@@ymelfilm Yep, but with these affordable units, they can't do everything perfectly, but that can produce more then enough usable tones to make it worth the price.
