After seeing the ending for Alyx, I'm glad Valve didn't make Half Life 2 Episode 3. The ending for the script of Episode 3 was a terrible ending for a lot of characters. I didn't like the idea of the borealis destroyed, Mossman killed even though the mission was the save her, and Alyx suddenly ditching Gordan Freeman out of the blue with the Gman while Gordan is trapped in a time paradox giving up to the combine. At that point, I didn't like where the story was heading.

HL 2 development started in June 1999. So it took them 5 years and 5 months to develop the game.

And whatever happens next officially would be A *Half life* 3, Most likely VR, fairly different gameplay To Half Life 2and a different storyline.

The one problem I see with this is that Valve might make more Half-Life VR games and might even make Half-Life 3 a VR game so it could be another “next big thing” but I kinda want it to be a pc game with something in it that can still be a game changer for future games to come

The main point is that Valve would never make any Episodic format anymore and with the promising capabilities of Source 2 showcased in Half-Life Alyx, Valve would now be ready to make the real sequel. Not in the form of an "Episode" but full-on "Sequel" that we always need: Half-Life 3

Valve are gonna mop the floor of the modern gaming industry if they pull this off. Their strategy seems flawless and definitely effective, as we’ve seen with Half-Life: Alyx. If there’s one thing I love about Valve games, it’s how perfectly constructed they are. Literally every game that I’ve played by Valve has had next to no bugs or problems whatsoever, and without fail I always go back to games like Left 4 Dead & Half-Life itself just thanks to their replay-ability value. Let us hope that the future is bright for not just HL, but also some other classic titles and potentially some new ones. The Source Engine is and always will be one of the greatest video game engines to ever exist. Let’s see what else 2.0 can do to top that.

I would like to see Half-Life 3 come out as a PC game that is capable to be played with mouse and keyboard as Half-Life 2 did normally so many people can enjoy it, and in VR mode which is its true form where players can do more than just shooting and enjoying the story like Half-Life: Alyx did.

[Spoilers???] I dont think there are parallel wersion of her, they propoble merege into one 'her' but with memory of Alyx that we played in Hl:A while at the same time other people remember her from future. ...time, Dr. Freeman? I would totally watch two movies to gain some perspective on that matter and can help understand few thing. Donnie Darko - Thats for ending of HL Alyx Arrival - to see gow g-man perception of time might look like, and for ending of HL Alyx also we can't really tell until next game arrives in 3-4-5years, but what im sure they aint gonna pull time travel gimmick as they did in avenger as it did felt a bit cheap.
