@@MalosiAudios One of the things I don't agree with from Super is how passive Vegeta has become. Some can argue that this was growth for him, but Vegeta has always shown a great deal of pride, arrogance and a certain amount of timidness when it came to being intimate with others. Some of his best moments have been against my idea of him, but when he was a Majin, that was a perfect time to isolate tjose traits, but merge them with his best traits. That's why him not being open with Goku makes sense. He was only capable of having his heart opened up by those whom he wanted saving from. Trunks was the one to open his heart, convincing Vegeta to make the shift back and to be a better dad to him. I suppose it would make sense, since Vegeta did watch his son die by Cell's hand. To see it happen again at the level that Trunks was, I bet it snapped him back to reality real quick.

I think it's because his most evil trait pride is also his most good. When you have pride in your family and protecting them and you value your pride in that then even when that pride is magnified your family will still be important. He has pride in his wife and kid which means it grew stronger when unleashed.

@@hugomventura To a further degree, Pride shouldn't be considered bad. Everything in this world, and in any other variation of it, should be considered greyer than other colors. Pride, in the case of Vegeta, began with him being arrogant and egotistical about his position as the prince of a bygone race. As a prince, it would make sense that he'd be groomed to be a proper one at that, showcasing all that the Saiyans were before they're extinction. However, due to him being humbled over and over again by those whom he'd considered weak, he found himself placing pride upon others, like Future Trunks. That was the turning point for him, and it would eventually cause him to grow fond of the current trunks which he and Bulma conceived. That's why Trunks was able to break Vegeta out from his self-imposed brainwashing. Vegeta, in a moment of complete weakness, found himself in the same position as he was when Cell killed Trunks. The only difference was that he could prevent his son' s death, and that was where he realized his pride was not in himself, but his son. That's why he spouts up a lot about pride in that form.

Goku on the other hand had a severe issues of either sparing his enemies or shrugging them off, mind you also placed millions of lives at risk. Hell Earth got nuked by frieza because goku didn't think of him being a major threat.

My favorite part of DBZ happened right after this. Shin tried to stop the fight and got in front of Goku. Goku raised his hand to him and began charging a ki blast. Shin reluctantly gave in and let him fight. With future insight, Goku almost killed Beerus during this scene.

Dude was valid. For once he was valid. Ruled by frieza. Casted downed from an abundant race to near extinction. All he wanted was those good old days where he still felt powerful, useful. He wanted to be free once more to do as he pleased as that perfect prince of the saiyans. Paving the way forward in his father's stead. And that's exactly what he did. Paved straight through each for and became the best of every version of a saiyan. By the time he reached the absolute strongest of super saiyan blue evolved, he had made good on that word. The strongest through absolute pride and strength. Building and evolving. The prince of saiyans absolute. No one could do it better. And no one deserves it more than him. Vegeta is indeed the Greatest of All Time.

As personal growth, you have an individual who is actually healing from trauma. Vegeta gave in to babidi is his old self returning; his old bad habits and perceptions fighting to survive. Overcoming this during the Buu saga and at the end Vegeta finally admitting that Goku was the best, allows him to become the Z fighter we know him as from then on.
