Who is the greatest rookie of all-time? Let me know!!
@awesomereviews156110 ай бұрын
From a team winning perspective it was Larry Bird ( Duncan doesn’t count because before Robinson missed a full season, the team was already very good), from a talent perspective it was MJ. Wembi is around Shaq’s rookie season.
@TheAYEMANShow10 ай бұрын
@@awesomereviews1561 you can say the same thing for wemby in terms of talent perspective. Mj wasn't shooting as well as great defensively compared to wemby in his rookie season

@@awesomereviews1561 So let's just ignore Duncan's rookie stat pts- 21.1 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.7 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game on 54.9% FG because Robinson's Spurs & were already good before he joined?
@MimieThalie10 ай бұрын
Duncan perrhaps better but we didn't have enough statistics about him...egality. between this two Goats. Wendy is the first but he will not be DPOY this season 😢 For me : Doncic : MVP Gobert :DPOY Wemby : ROY And for the futures seasons Wemby for DPOY and ROPY.. (And MVP perrhaps too.😜)..
@elcochino813910 ай бұрын
Wemby and the Spurs will win a championship by his 3rd season. That season he will be the unanimous MVP, DPOY, lead the league in scoring, rebounds, steals, and blocks, and win Finals MVP. He'll also have multiple quadruple double games

He's for sure one of the greatest rookies and he has GOAT potential, but let time and consistency sort the latter out. But what he does bring that catches my eyes is the sheer novelty of what he is. To move like he moves at that size? With his current level of injury resistance and flexibility? Unheard of. He has the vibes of a bigger Wilt Chamberlain, of a giant Giannis. How much will he bulk up? How light on his feet will he be? How long will his body last? Lot's of unknowns but he is for sure the first of a new generation of supragenetically endowed players only possible with global recruiting at the highest possible percentiles of the human genepool since childhood and early development addressing the weak spots of being so large, correcting them early. This is no slow lumbering giant dragging around the court, he moves like a spider monkey. The NBA is on notice and more like him will come. We're at the dawn of the age of the super players.

It’s clear spurs need to build something fast. Strip team down, keep draft picks if possible and Pay fair prices for 2- 3 20-30 mil players on 1-2 year contracts while wemby is still on rookie contract bc then you know you’re gonna have to pay him a bag. see who sticks then go after true superstar that’s in 30-40 mil range to put alongside him. Scary as hell to build this way but gonna be exciting as hell to watch!

Many greats been drafted to terrible teams and lifted them up... Not Victor. In Magic's rookie year, he averaged -18PPG/ 7.7RPG/ 7.3APG, 2.4SPG Shooting 53%, and 81% FT for the regular season. -ROTY -All-Star (starter) -All rookie team But most importantly, In Game 6 of the Finals (with Kareem out), he started at C, and playing all 5 positions... -Put up 42PTS/15REB/7AST shooting 61%, and 14-14FT -Won Finals MVP. -Won a championship -Greatest rookie accomplishment of all time! But Magic doesn't have the greatest rookie regular season (since the NBA/NBA merger) That goes to MJ. -Avgd 28.2/6.5/6 with 2.5SPG shooting 52% and 85% from the line. -ROTY -All rookie team -All-Star (starter) -NBA Total Points Leader -All-NBA Team -Took The Bulls to the playoffs from last place the year prior. -Led the Bulls in PPG, RPG, APG and SPG in the Reg. season. -In his first ever playoff appearance, as a rookie, Jordan averaged 29.3PPG/8.5RPG/6APG, 2.8 SPG. BUT... if we're talking Stat-Wise specifically, in the ALL TIME history of the game, regardless If there were only 7 other franchises to face, or if 80% of the league was white, then it's Wilt without question. -Avgd 37.6ppg/ 27rpg / 2.3apg -Led the League in Total Points and Rebounds -Scoring Title -All-NBA (1st team) -League MVP -ROTY -All-Star Game MVP -Overall, Wilt had the greatest overall regular season as a rookie in NBA/ABA history -MJ had the greatest overall rookie season in modern basketball (since the 1976 NBA/ABA merger) -Magic had the overall greatest playoff and finals performances by any rookie ever. Even though Magic was drafted to a great team, It was him that brought that title home. And that makes him the greatest rookie of all time...IMO.

I understand your rhetoric but magic had a in his prime Kareem on his team and also wemby as rookie as far as his scoring ability such as getting to the rim and also a multi-dimensional scoring ability being able to score every where on the court as well as his defensive ability being second in defensive player of the year and should’ve been an all-star this year. If wemby were to be in one of the teams that mj and magic were on. I think he will do as well if not better than the likes of mj and magic, given the fact the nba during that time weren’t as talented than today and it was more leninent as far as players winning awards and making all-star appearances but it more towards the talent that is the concern here. All im saying is that you can not tell me that wemby is not in the same tier as far as rookie performance than the likes of a mj, magic, LeBron all of these guys
@Daveyboy_RS38 ай бұрын
@@TheAYEMANShow Agreed Magic ended up on a star team. But MJ won his first 3peat with just one other All-Star, and zero other real scorers. The rest of the club were average and even sub average at their positions.

I must admit Wemby looks like he has some Hands and Feet for any size man, but you shouldn't win DPOY if your team is bad. but yeah never seen hands and feet on a man that large. he is rook of the year for sure.

Yeah man. I agree that wilt is amazing but there were only like 8 teams back then. I just don't like to compare anyone to wilt because it is so difficult to judge how good he was at basketball vs being lucky to be playing as it has been said "with a bunch of short white guys" He is no doubt one of the greatest athletes ever, I just have a very hard time judging how good he actually was. Oh and back then they got to play the full 48 every night. That's more than 50% more minutes than wemby.
